Seton Motley | Less Government | LessGovernment.orgWe see it over and over again. And have seen it for decades. It is why I remain steadfastly opposed to any government “research.” Because the government only funds research that feeds and fosters itself. And when the science isn’t compliant – government ignores it, or warps it to its will.

Government is an organism. Just like any other organism, its first priority is self-preservation. Its second – is to grow. So when you give the federal government $4 trillion a year to spend, it will spend a lot of it funding its own preservation and growth. No matter how much damage it does to everyone and everything else.

Government cherry-picks the research it funds. The Feds have spent tens (hundreds?) of billions of dollars on global warming – oops, I mean climate change studies. I would bet there hasn’t been ten grand total spent on scientists who are man-made climate change skeptics. Because proving there’s no problem – means there’s no justification for government to grow.

But from 1998 until as recently as 2014, the global temperature has flat-lined. No warming. Virtually no change at all. Did a government-funded study find this empirical fact? No. In fact, the government has spent a lot of money, time and effort trying to suppress this information – and attacking those who cite it.

Because according to government – it ain’t science if it doesn’t grow government.

In its ceaseless push to expand, government abuses the “science” of things both great – and small. So small – they are assaulting grains of salt. In the name of our “health” – government is regulating to the granular level.

Australian comedian Steve Hughes rightly understands this particular brand of authoritarianism:

“We all have to live under the weird and oppressive regime of health and safety regulations….For our health? No it’s not. It’s for control.”

He is, of course, absolutely correct.

Back before we were so scientifically astute – and government so obnoxiously huge – we were oft a lot smarter. Throughout the course of 10,000 years of human history, salt has been a vitally key ingredient. It has been life saver, a food preserver – and at times even a currency.

And most of us still understand its import – including its health benefits.

Low-Salt Diets May Pose Health Risks, Study Finds: “Findings are latest challenge to benefits of aggressively low sodium targets.”

A Low-Salt Diet May Be Bad for the Heart

12 Reasons Why Salt is GOOD for You

Salt Shake-Up: Why Sodium Is Good for You: “Here’s why you should take all that expert advice about cutting back your intake with, well, a grain of salt.”

But all of this science – doesn’t get the government any bigger. So government ignores it (and eons of history) – and grows ahead anyway.

FDA Issues Draft Guidance to Food Industry for Voluntarily Reducing Sodium in Processed and Commercially Prepared Food

Of course it’s government – so it’s only a matter of time before that “voluntary” becomes…not so voluntary.

Of course it’s government – so they ignore loads of actual science…in the name of “science.”

Because when science doesn’t justify government growth – “science” will do. In a pinch (of salt).

I would suggest that government adjust to the actual science, change tack – and start mandating salt consumption.

But I wouldn’t want to give them any additional authoritarian ideas.

Since 2002, the Government Research Laboratory NREL budget has been nearly 5 billion tax payer dollars, about a third of a billion a year.

What have we gotten for our money?
Have they developed viable solar energy? NO!
Have they developed viable wind energy? NO!
Solar and wind energy has to be propped up with Tax Payer subsidies.
Hydroelectric energy is the only viable renewable energy. Are we developing more of it? NO! Environmentalists and EPA block new hydroelectric development.

But the EPA is shutting down power plants that use inexpensive fossil fuels based on the Government perpetrated HOAX of Global Warming – vis a vis – Climate Change, so the cost of energy is rising and the grid is less reliable and we are paying subsidies for less reliable so called Renewable Energy. And the cost of gasoline is rising because the government requires alcohol from corn to be added to gasoline on the pretext that is reduces carbon emissions, but in reality is just a government farming subsidy.

Go back to our primary education, and remember the teaching that in the time of Columbus everyone thought the World was flat!
There is not one shred of evidence for this. Not one person at that time actually belied this. Certainly not seafairing people. They observed ships disappear as they sailed. First the boat, then the sails.
Made a good story though and we bought it!
Same thing with the Pilgrims. That first Thanksgiving when the Pilgims shared their corn and squash and turkeys with the Indians. Where did they get it? There wans’t any of those things in Europe! Makes another good story and we bought it, but the truth is, the Pilgrims landed shortly after various fishermen had already been to the shores prior to their arrival, to gather fresh water and firewood, and stuff. In return, they left Small Pox, and other Europeon diseases.
When the Pilgims arrived, they landed in desreted villaged, where corn rows were already planted, houses were built, and so many natives had died, bodies were laying on the ground!
Think about what time of year the Pilgrims landed. Late Fall. How could they possibly have planted corn, and squash? Then they dug up the graves of those dead natives who were buried and found seeds and baskets, and lots of other needed things.
Didn’t make for a good story, so I guess we made one up.
We, as a Nation have done this from befor our beginning and have continued ever since! Science and history is only used when it serves our Governments best. The War of 1812 had seven major battles. Five of those were against the Indians.
As a matter of fact, it wasn’t until after that War, ‘Settlers’ took on the name, ‘Americans.’ Prior to that, only Natives were called Americans.
Prior to Columbus, there were no ‘Races of People.’ Europeans did not see themselves as White, nor Africans as Black, nor Chinese as Yellow. That Science came later.
The whole point of this babbling is ‘Science’ is ever changing. We are taught a certain thing, and as people resist change in what it was we were taught. Governments, the people in them know the manipulations of civilizations, that is their job, their purpose, for thousands of years.
We, as people, keep believing these governments. Science itself keeps being manipulated and delayed by these governments, and at times, governments and religions are one and the same.
You want simple answers? There are no simple answers. All that can be recommended is to read and actually know what our history as people is, was, and are.
Think for yourselves, as you are most likely smarter than the ones trying to convience you otherwise.
