First Batch of Coronavirus Vaccines Sent for Human Testing

by Mikaela Mathews{ } ~ Biotech company Moderna, based out of Massachusetts, has shipped its first batches of the COVID-19 vaccine for testing to the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases… According to Fox News, the vaccine will be tested on a group of 45 young, healthy human volunteers at the Kaiser Permanente Washington Health Research Institute in Seattle. Volunteers cannot be infected from the shots, and the purpose of the trial is to ensure that no worrisome side effects emerge. The company originally believed it would start testing in April, but recent discoveries made from Chinese scientists encouraged a faster turn-around time. “The speed with which we have produced these candidates builds very much on the investment in understanding how to develop vaccines for other coronaviruses,” said Richard Hatchett, CEO of a Norwegian-based company developing a COVID-19 vaccine. Scientists in China shared the virus’s genome sequence, which is called SARS-CoV-2, which has enabled other countries to continue the development of a vaccine. Though “prototype” pathogens had been researched in previous years, the work was shelved after SARS and MERS epidemics were contained. According to The  Guardian, “SARS-CoV-2 shares between 80% and 90% of its genetic material with the virus that caused SARS—hence its name.” Despite this speed, releasing a vaccine to the public will still take some time. The president has promised to release a vaccine by November, but the CDC has advised that safe testing and development requires upwards of 18 months. “Getting a vaccine that’s proven to be safe and effective in humans takes one at best about a third of the way to what’s needed for a global immunization program,” said global health expert Jonathan Quick. “Virus biology and vaccines technology could be the limiting factors, but politics and economics are far more likely to be the barrier to immunization.” Testing for a vaccine typically goes through three groups of people: first, a few healthy volunteers; second, several hundred people; and, third, several thousands of people to ensure that the vaccine is effective.

Doctor with 4 Degrees from MIT Warns ‘Deep State’ Using Coronavirus Fear-Mongering To Suppress Dissent

By Carmine Sabia { } ~ A decorated scientist with four degrees from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology believes the coronavirus pandemic is being used by the “Deep State” for its own purposes… Shiva Ayyadurai said on Twitter that “fear-mongering” over the outbreak is being used to push an agenda. “As an MIT PhD in Biological Engineering who studies & does research nearly every day on the Immune System, the #coronavirus fear mongering by the Deep State will go down in history as one of the biggest fraud to manipulate economies, suppress dissent, & push MANDATED Medicine!” he said. It is important to note that Ayyadurai did not say the disease is man-made or a hoax. You should follow the guidelines from doctors, federal, state and local governments and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. But what Ayyadurai did say is that some in the government are using the pandemic to frighten people into obedience. Think about what has transpired in less than a week’s time. We have handed control of nearly everything in our lives to the government. In many places, they are telling us when we can leave our homes and when we must return to them. They have decided what events or religious services we can attend, how many people are allowed to be there and which businesses are allowed to stay open. In the process, the global economy has crashed with the assistance of the media stirring everyone into a mass panic…

Research team has isolated the COVID-19 virus

by ~ A team of researchers from Sunnybrook, McMaster University and the University of Toronto has isolated severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2)… the agent responsible for the ongoing outbreak of COVID-19. Thanks to nimble collaboration, the team was able to culture the virus from two clinical specimens in a Level 3 containment facility. “We need key tools to develop solutions to this pandemic. While the immediate response is crucial, longer-term solutions come from essential research into this novel virus,” said Dr. Samira Mubareka, microbiologist and infectious diseases physician at Sunnybrook. The isolated virus will help researchers in Canada and across the world develop better diagnostic testing, treatments and vaccines, and gain a better understanding of SARS-CoV-2 biology, evolution and clinical shedding. “Researchers from these world-class institutions came together in a grassroots way to successfully isolate the virus in just a few short weeks,” said Dr. Rob Kozak, clinical microbiologist at Sunnybrook. “It demonstrates the amazing things that can happen when we collaborate.” Dr. Arinjay Banerjee, NSERC post-doctoral fellow at McMaster University, said he knows the collaboration won’t stop there. “Now that we have isolated the SARS-CoV-2 virus, we can share this with other researchers and continue this teamwork,” he said. “The more viruses that are made available in this way, the more we can learn, collaborate and share.” Congratulations to the researchers from these three Canadian institutions: Dr. Samira Mubareka and Dr. Rob Kozak of Sunnybrook and University of Toronto; Dr. Arinjay Banerjee and Dr. Karen Mossman of McMaster University. With gratitude to the CL3 team and Biosafety Officers.

So Now What?

by WILLIAM MURCHISON{ } ~  This virus thing has gotten crazy. San Francisco … closed down due to the coronavirus’ spread?! A whole American city on hold? And other localities set for like privations?… loose lips liar-Joe Biden’s and commie-Bernie Sanders’ contemporaries may remember as I do, being one of them a Gregory Peck/Ava Gardner movie from 1959: On the Beach. Following a nuclear war, an unharmed American sub ventures to San Francisco for a look. There is only stillness; no one is in sight. No one. It gives one the willies to contemplate the shutdowns that government officials, here and abroad, are implementing or contemplating: so extended, so complete as to invite ridicule. Few seem to regard them as ridiculous. That, too, gives one the willies. We are entering an age nobody imagined just weeks ago. We do not know what lies at the end of the tunnel when the light is switched back on. There is little good in predictions. I suspect, even so, we are in for a massive mental reorientation as a nation, as a people. You don’t go through things like the shutdown of normal daily life without rethinking basic premises. Reorientation could be good for us, or it could be bad. I prefer, on the whole, half-full to half-empty glassware. How might we end up better? Rising above the hatred and hostility, the malice and power-grabbing, of the past half-century — I could go for that if it happened. Modifying the conditions responsible for that hatred and hostility — that would be good, too. Downsizing our politics and putting life in better perspective. It would make of America a different, perhaps a better, place. The presidential candidates, in their Sunday night debate, lacked anything useful to say about the sickness and the already unfolding national shutdown: likely because, as politicians generally do, they were looking at the short run and the bottom line. We have had enough it seems to me of short-running and bottom-lining. We need to think on what we’re about as a people, and on the legitimate uses of liberty. It would be a change, all right. It might even make easier the healing of life when COVID-19 is gone. The human condition — including the human medical condition — is tied up in the eternal questions, how shall I live, and how should I strive to die? No act of Congress or Supreme Court decision is likely to answer such questions…  https://  /so-now-what/?utm_source=American%20Spectator%20Emails&utm_campaign=33d2e92e08-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2020_03_17_02_23&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_797a38d487-33d2e92e08-104608113

Philip Haney’s Death Not a Suicide

by Lloyd Billingsley{ } ~ Former Department of Homeland Security Whistleblower Philip Haney was found dead in Amador County, California, last month… Early reports said the death was due to a self-inflicted gunshot, but Haney’s friends in Congress say that isn’t so, with the support from a February 24 Coroner’s Investigation Update by the Amador sheriff’s office. As that report explains “there was misinformation immediately being put out that we have determined Mr. Haney’s death to be a suicide. This is not the case.” Mr. Haney was “located in a park and ride open area immediately adjacent to State Highway 16 near State Highway 124. Highway 16 is a busy state highway and used as a main travel route to and from Sacramento. The location is less than three miles from where he was living,” in the Sierra foothills east of Sacramento. As  Michelle Mears noted in the California Globe, Haney’s relatives and friends did not believe he had killed himself. According to Kerry Picket in the Washington Examiner, Haney was “recently in contact with top officials about returning to work for the DHS.” As Haney explained in The Hill on May 5, 2016, the Department of Homeland Security ordered him “to delete or modify several hundred records of individuals tied to designated Islamist terror groups like Hamas from the important federal database, the Treasury Enforcement Communications System (TECS).” Haney described the campaign in See Something Say Nothing: A Homeland Security Officer Exposes the Government’s Submission to Jihad. The Amador County Sheriff is cooperating with the FBI to analyze “documents, phone records and a lap top that were recovered from the scene and Mr. Haney’s RV.” The sheriff has also obtained “the firearm located at the scene” but has not revealed the type of weapon. A forensic autopsy has been scheduled and as Cheryl Chumley reported in the Washington Times, Haney’s friends in Congress are weighing in…

.It’s as Easy as ABC (Anybody But China)

Arnold Ahlert

In 1942, America began the Manhattan Project. It was driven by the fear that Nazi scientists were developing an atomic bomb and that Adolf Hitler was prepared to use it. Today, America needs a new Manhattan Project to respond to the reality that China — an enemy every bit as determined to rule the world as the Nazis were — controls the supply of 80% to 90% of U.S. antibiotics. And for those Americans who think the word “enemy” is too strong, the Chinese Communist Party’s media mouthpiece has boasted about that nation’s ability to impose pharmaceutical export controls that would push America into “the mighty sea of coronavirus.”

That media mouthpiece is a state-run agency known as Xinhua. It is now casting China as heroic for containing the virus as long as it did. “We should say righteously that the U.S. owes China an apology, the world owes China a thank you,” an editorial stated. That would be the same China that blatantly lied about when the outbreak began, ignored offers of outside help for weeks, and arrested whistleblower Dr. Li Wenliang, forcing him to sign a letter saying he spread “untrue speech” about the danger. Li subsequently succumbed to the virus. In America, succumbing to communist thugs, to the point where loyalty and patriotism have been completely supplanted by the globalist agenda, has now reached catastrophic levels. It’s a catastrophe enabled by a self-anointed “New World Order” elitist class that no longer hides its contempt for ordinary Americans who’ve seen their cities and towns decimated by outsourcing leading to despair, homelessness, massive drug abuse, and now a communicable disease that threatens our entire way of life — even as they are told globalism is a “net benefit” for the nation.Net benefit? Ordinary Americans were supposed to be mollified by cheap consumer goods, while elitists amassed historically unprecedented levels of wealth. Moreover, those same elitists lectured us about how the nationalist agenda of the Trump administration was akin to Nazism, and that any hesitation to embrace globalism was xenophobic. Even now, despite this being the second virus originating in China (SARs emerged in 2003), our own media insists that referring to COVID-19 as “Wuhan virus,” the “Wuhan coronavirus,” or the “Chinese coronavirus” is racist. In the midst of a pandemic, it doesn’t get more intellectually or morally bankrupt than that. The hypocrisy is astounding: Many of the same media sources now browbeating Americans for their racism initially used precisely the same terms to describe the virus. So what changed? Politics.A media ostensibly concerned with the well-being of Americans is more concerned with undermining a Trump administration that has proved largely antithetical to the globalist agenda. An administration that facilitated the creation of millions of new jobs supposedly impossible to create, because the “new normal” of low expectations  professed by the scumbag/liar-nObama administration was said to be an immutable reality. And above all else, an administration that finally challenged the odious assertion by both parties that accommodating a totalitarian nation would eventually “democratize” it.It was all a lie. “Fact is, choosing to invest in China versus the United States is not a simple dollars-and-cents, bottom-line calculation,” explains columnist Curtis Ellis. “Certain ‘externalities’ enter into the equation. Externalities such as national security. Externalities such as the continued existence of the United States. Externalities such as the continued existence of freedom of thought, freedom of religion, and individual liberty in this world. By now it should be crystal clear to anyone but the willfully blind that the communist party ruling China holds and promotes values antithetical to our own.”Willfully blind? Willfully greedy, stupid, and corrupt is more like it. To the point where the massive theft of intellectual property, the “editing” of Hollywood entertainment, and the coerced silence of NBA players — to name only a handful of examples — is willfully granted in exchange for access to a billion Chinese consumers. And now, as many people are discovering for the first time, drug companies and their supply chains are an integral part of the sellout. One that has left us as vulnerable as any outright war or terrorist attack could. “I have no doubt,” retired Brig. Gen. John Adams told Fox News, “that they would consider weaponizing their dominance of the pharmaceuticals market if they felt that that would give them an advantage over us strategically.”The president is attempting to do something about it. On Friday, he declared a national emergency, fast-tracking testing for the virus, enlisting Walmart, Walgreens, Target, CVS, and others to facilitate the process. He is also  expected to announce an executive order that will tighten “Buy American” laws that would require federal agencies to purchase American-made pharmaceuticals and medical equipment. That may be a heavy lift. The last plant in the United States to manufacture the key ingredients for crucial antibiotics like penicillin was Bristol-Myers Squibb, which closed its factory in East Syracuse, New York, in 2004. Even then, American politicians knew of the possible consequences of outsourcing critical drug-supply chains. But even then, as now, national security — because this is all about national security — took a back seat to bottom-line considerations.“The coronavirus outbreak has been a wake-up call that we must combat America’s supply-chain vulnerabilities and dependence on China in critical sectors of our economy,” stated Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) in response to Trump’s forthcoming order. Our entire nation has been turned upside down in a way that may prove as deleterious as 9/11 — if not more so — and that’s what eoff for worldwide “interconnectedness”) — is finally seen for what it truly is: a mortal threat to our constitutional republic.America will never be completely isolationist. However, going forward it might be useful to embrace a new trade and supply-chain strategy. One as easy as ABC:Anybody But China.   Utterly preposterous. Moreover, like so many others in his party, as well as their media lapdogs, the idea that politics “stops at the water’s edge” in times of crisis is officially dead.  ~The Patriot Post
