GOP SECURES NORTH CAROLINA: “In a major victory for both President Trump and national Republicans, North Carolina GOP state Sen. Dan Bishop was projected to win a fiercely contested special U.S. House election for the 9th District that was widely seen as a bellwether for the president’s chances in the 2020 election,” Fox News reports. “And another Republican House candidate, Greg Murphy, decisively won a separate special election in North Carolina’s more solidly GOP-leaning 3rd District earlier Tuesday evening — frustrating Democrats who spent millions trying to make a splash in the state.” Democrats couldn’t make headway even into marginal Trump territory.BOLTON OUSTED: According to NBC News, “President Donald Trump said Tuesday that he had fired national security adviser John Bolton after a string of disagreements, removing one of the most hawkish voices in Trump’s inner circle on a number of issues, including Taliban negotiations and China trade talks.” Trump declared that he “disagreed strongly with many of [Bolton’s] suggestions, as did others in the Administration.” Both Trump and Bolton are similarly headstrong. There clearly wasn’t enough space in the White House for the both of them.National Security

EMBASSY ATTACKED: “A rocket exploded at the U.S. Embassy in Afghanistan just minutes into Wednesday, the anniversary of the 9/11 attack on the United States. A plume of smoke rose over central Kabul shortly after midnight and sirens could be heard. Inside the embassy, employees heard this message over the loudspeaker: ‘An explosion caused by a rocket has occurred on compound.’ About an hour later the all-clear was given, with no injuries reported. … It was the first major attack in the Afghan capital since President Donald Trump abruptly called off U.S.-Taliban talks over the weekend, on the brink of an apparent deal to end America’s longest war.” (Associated Press)CNN’S FAKE-NEWS FALLOUT: “U.S. intelligence officials past and present offered harsh criticism Tuesday of a CNN report on the handling of a high-level U.S. informant in the upper reaches of Russian President Vladimir Putin’s Kremlin, warning that even discussing sensitive details of the case put U.S. security and future intelligence operations at risk.” (The Washington Times)

FEMA FRAUD: “The FBI arrested one of the top administrators of FEMA and the CEO of a contractor on wire fraud and bribery charges, along with a lower-level FEMA official … for fraud and bribery involving Hurricane Maria relief. The contractor got a $1.8 billion contract for rebuilding Puerto Rico’s notoriously unreliable electrical infrastructure, which the Department of Justice says came by way of bribery.” (Hot Air)OLIVE BRANCH? “China’s Ministry of Finance announced plans to exempt 16 types of U.S. products from additional tariffs on Wednesday, including food for livestock, cancer drugs and lubricants. The exemption, which is scheduled to go into effect from September 17, will be valid for a year through to September 16, 2020. The announcement comes as high-level trade officials from China and the U.S. prepare to meet in Washington next month.” (CNBC)SEEING THE WRITING ON THE WALL: “Background checks for gun sales, concealed-carry permits, and security spiked in August as congressional Democrats renewed their push for expanded gun control in the wake of several mass shootings. The National Instant Criminal Background Check System recorded a 15.5 percent uptick in background checks last month, according to the National Shooting Sports Foundation.” (National Review)UNINSURED RISES: “The number of Americans without health insurance climbed to 27.5 million in 2018, according to federal data that show the first year-to-year increase in a decade, before the Affordable Care Act began reducing the ranks of the uninsured. … The number of uninsured rose by nearly two million people overall, the Census Bureau said, which is about how many fewer people were covered under Medicaid compared with 2017. The number of people covered by private insurance didn’t significantly change.” (The Wall Street Journal)

MONOPOLY GOES WOKE: “Hasbro officially brought the gender pay gap to game night with its new feminist version of Monopoly called ‘Ms. Monopoly.’ The new version of the classic board game comes with new rules: Women players will collect $240 in Monopoly money while male players will only collect $200. Women also collect $1,900 in Monopoly money from the banker player at the beginning of the game while men collect $1,500.” (The Daily Caller)‘ANGEL MOM’ DISRESPECTED: “Last week, Boston mother Maureen Maloney was booed while testifying about the death of her son Matthew Denice, who was killed in 2011 by a drunk-driving illegal with a criminal history. Maloney was testifying at the State House in opposition to a bill seeking to grant driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants. ‘At the start of her testimony, Maloney held up a photo of Matthew and recalled how he was killed by an illegal immigrant drunk behind the wheel. About halfway into her 3 minutes of testimony, a man behind Maloney booed the grieving mother,’ the Boston Herald reported.” (The Daily Wire)

scumbag liar-Nadler’s Push For Impeachment Is A Crisis For America, Not Just Trump

By Sara Carter

{ } ~ The House Judiciary Committee will vote Thursday to establish rules for hearings on impeachment to continue the panel’s investigations of President Donald Trump… Basically, the Democrats are desperately searching for a crime: any crime will do and they are not going to stop until they find one. Chairman scumbag liar-Jerrold Nadler doesn’t seem to care about anything unless it’s “impeachment.” He has no evidence of malfeasance by the President but he, like Rep. scumbag-Adam Schiff, D-CA, don’t seem to care. They are holding congressional hearings in search of a crime. Mind you, they have no evidence of anything but they are hoping, like they did with their debunked Trump Russia collusion theory, that they will find one. Here’s what he said in his statement Monday. “The adoption of these additional procedures is the next step in that process and will help ensure our impeachment hearings are informative to Congress and the public, while providing the president with the ability to respond to evidence presented against him,” said scumbag liar-Nadler in a statement to announce the vote. “We will not allow Trump’s continued obstruction to stop us from delivering the truth to the American people.”  What truth? Remember, over the past several years scumbag liar-Nadler, scumbag-Schiff and other Democrats haven’t wasted any time spreading false rumors, in other words a disinformation campaign, against Trump on their favorite friendly cable news outlets like MSNBC or CNN. scumbag liar-Nadler’s committee, along with his Democratic colleagues, are saying the resolution is similar to procedural votes that took place during the impeachment investigations into Presidents Richard Nixon and scumbag/liar-Bill Clinton. Still, he has no evidence of obstruction and no evidence that Trump has committed any crime. Don’t buy the narrative America. This is what Washington does but this time it’s Trump that is in their line of sight. The Democrats can’t get over losing this past three years. They couldn’t prove collusion, obstruction or anything else and they don’t mind if they drag the nation down with them as they continue to pursue their unsubstantiated investigations…

Trump fires National Security Adviser John Bolton, says they ‘disagreed strongly’ on policy

By Brooke Singman

{ } ~ President Trump announced Tuesday that he has fired National Security Adviser John Bolton, saying he “disagreed strongly” with his suggestions on a range of issues… “I informed John Bolton last night that his services are no longer needed at the White House,” Trump tweeted Tuesday.“ I disagreed strongly with many of his suggestions, as did others in the Administration, and therefore I asked John for his resignation, which was given to me this morning,” he continued. “I thank John very much for his service. I will be naming a new National Security Advisor next week.” The two have had disagreements over a range of issues, perhaps most significantly on the plans for a troop drawdown in Afghanistan. The president appointed Bolton to his post in March 2018, after removing H.R. McMaster. Bolton became Trump’s third national security adviser, joining the administration in April 2018. McMaster had been  appointed earlier in the administration to replace Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn. But Bolton fired back Tuesday, tweeting moments after the president that he offered his resignation on Monday evening, and said it was not immediately accepted by Trump. “I offered to resign last night and President Trump said, ‘Let’s talk about it tomorrow,’ Bolton tweeted. Bolton, who previously served as a Fox News contributor, worked in the administrations of former Presidents Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush and served as a Bush lawyer during the 2000 Florida recount. Bolton also served as a U.S. permanent representative to the United Nations from 2005 to 2006, and as an undersecretary of state for arms control and international security from 2001 to 2005. One source told Fox News Tuesday that many in the White House learned of Bolton’s firing from the president’s tweet Tuesday  .

Flynn’s Counsel Says scumbag-Schiff’s Demands Are ‘transparently pure harassment’

By Sara Carter

{ } ~ The counsel representing former National Security Advisor Michael Flynn laid out a series of reasons in a letter in late August as to why her client will not testify… or submit more documentation to Chairman scumbag-Adam Schiff’s House Intelligence Committee’s ongoing investigations into Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential elections. The letter obtained by reveals the extent of cooperation Flynn has already given to the committee, which Flynn’s attorney  Sidney Powell said “is so unreasonable and unethical, we are copying Chairman scumbag-Schiff and Ranking Member Nunes. Perhaps the Committee will decide to exercise better judgment.” “Your demand that he appear at a hearing merely to assert the privilege against self-incrimination is transparently pure harassment, because it cannot achieve any legitimate congressional purpose,” said Powell in a letter to scumbag-Schiff sent on Aug. 22. Apparently it was Powell’s letter. He lashed back at Powell’s letter this week in a letter of his own. “Notwithstanding repeated efforts by committee staff to engage with your counsel and accommodate your adjournment requests, you have, to date, failed to comply with the committee’s subpoena or cooperate with the committee’s efforts to secure your compliance,” he said in his letter to Powell. scumbag-Schiff also said Flynn does not have sufficient grounds to invoke his Fifth Amendment rights. The “Fifth Amendment privilege must be invoked in response to specific questions or topics that might tend to incriminate you if answered truthfully,” said scumbag-Schiff. “Your counsel’s blanket invocation of the Fifth Amendment … is, therefore, inadequate,” scumbag-Schiff said. But Powell’s letter tells a fuller story as to why Flynn is invoking his Fifth Amendment privilege. “As far as testimony is concerned, we have already informed you that at our insistence, Mr. Flynn will assert his Fifth Amendment privilege and will not answer any questions,” she states. “He remains, after all, a defendant in a criminal prosecution that has not been concluded. We attach the docket entry from Judge Sullivan dated yesterday.”…

Trump says talks with Taliban are ‘dead,’ after canceling secret Camp David summit

By Alex Pappas

{ } ~ President Trump declared Monday that peace talks between the United States and the Taliban over the war in Afghanistan are “dead,”… after canceling secret plans over the weekend for a Camp David summit. “They’re dead. They’re dead. As far as I’m concerned, they’re dead,” he said. The president made the comments to reporters as he departed the White House to board Marine One. Over the weekend, the president said he had intended to hold a secret meeting Sunday with Taliban representatives at Camp David, but called it off due to the Taliban’s role in a deadly bombing in Kabul last week that resulted in the death of a U.S. soldier. “They thought they had to kill people in order to put them in a little better negotiating position,” Trump said Monday. He added: “You can’t do that. You can’t do that with me.” Trump’s tweet was surprising because it would mean that the president was ready to host members of the Taliban at the presidential retreat in Maryland just days before the anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks. More than 2,400 U.S. troops have been killed since the U.S. invaded Afghanistan to go after the Taliban, who were harboring Al Qaeda leaders responsible for 9/11. Trump defended his intention to host the Taliban at Camp David: “There have been plenty of so-called bad people brought up to Camp David for meetings. The alternative was the White House and you wouldn’t have been happy with that, either.”…

Saudi Arabia Is Losing Yemen to Iran

by Jonathan Spyer

{ } ~ The Saudi-led effort to crush the rebellion by the Iran-aligned Ansar Allah (Houthi) movement in Yemen is into its fifth year. The operation has largely run aground… There is now a UN-sponsored truce over control of the contested port of Hodeidah, in the west of the country. Over 10,000 people have died since the Saudi and Emirati intervention began in March 2015. Saudi and Emirati-led forces succeeded in preventing the strategic disaster of a Houthi capture of Bab al-Mandeb, a choke point between the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. But the Houthis remain in control of the Yemeni capital, Sanaa, a considerable part of the coast, and the main urban centers of the country. The anti-Houthi forces, meanwhile, have now turned on one another, with the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council challenging Saudi-supported forces aligned with the official government led by Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi. The STC fighters now control the port of Aden, with the prospect for further clashes between the sides. While Riyadh would like to see the total defeat of the Houthis but has proved unable to secure this, Abu Dhabi’s focus is on securing Red Sea shipping lines and restricting the influence of Sunni Islamist forces in the areas under government control. With the front lines stalemated, meanwhile, there are signs that the Houthis are consolidating their grip on their own areas and formalizing their rule. This is of concern to Israel. The Houthi area of control is an integral part of the Iranian sphere in the region, and is therefore a component part in the alliance against which Jerusalem is currently engaged in a secret and not-so-secret war…

Democrats Haven’t Really Changed in 160 Years

Robin Smith:  The third debate featuring the Democrats presidential hopefuls is this Thursday, Sept. 12. Americans are told, and daily reminded, that today’s Democrat Party is not your father’s or grandfather’s Democrat Party. Emphasizing how progressive today’s partisans are that have abandoned the more “center” positions in the Center-Left is the rage. But in many ways, today’s Democrat Party absolutely is the party of the great-great grandfathers who were Democrats.

The 10 candidates with at least 2% support in recent polls will be in Houston, Texas, facing questions from ABC’s George Stephanopoulus. They will predictably aim to outwork each other to hold the hardest left positions on socialism, free health insurance, eliminating student debt, a universal wage — with and without work — gun restrictions, reduced sentencing for crimes, open borders, sanctuary cities protecting illegal immigrants and any number of issues. These topics will be as various shades painted on the canvass of identity politics stretched tightly to saturate all the applications of tint that distinguishes divisions by race and class warfare … just like the 1860s.What? How are today’s Democrats the same as those Abraham Lincoln faced as the first president of the newborn Republican Party?Let’s take a little stroll down history lane — the one that’s so endangered of being rewritten by those of the partisan Left working feverishly to leave the origins of their party behind. In Dinesh D’Souza’s book, Death of a Nation, he cites the words of Abraham Lincoln from a Sept. 11, 1858 speech, almost 161 years ago to the day.Lincoln declared in his debate against the slavery-defending Democrat Stephen Douglas: “The Republican Party holds that this government was instituted to secure the blessings of freedom, and that slavery is an unqualified evil to the Negro, to the white man, to the soil, and to the State. … They will use every constitutional method to prevent the evil from becoming larger and … will oppose, in all its length and breadth, the modern Democratic idea, that slavery is as good as freedom, and ought to have room for expansion all over the continent. This is the difference, as I understand it between Republican and Democratic Parties.”Now, substitute a few words, and understand the point. Today, this could be said out of the mouth of Lincoln as a candidate for president as a Republican: “The Republican Party holds that this government was instituted to secure the blessings of freedom, and that enforced government dependency is an unqualified evil to all Americans — regardless of race, gender or ethnicity — and even to the very land that is America. Republicans will use every constitutional method available to prevent this evil of dependency from becoming larger and will oppose, in all its length and breadth, the modern Democratic idea, that being dependent upon the government — for your rights, your income, your identity, your property, everything — is as good as freedom, and ought to have room for expansion all over the continent. This, indeed, is the difference between the Republican and Democratic Parties.”As Americans hear and see the various candidates running to serve in county courthouses, state houses, and in the White House, compare the messages and the philosophies from which the policy positions originate. Do candidates honor the truth that we are* created* equal — not born equal? At the moment of creation, in the mother’s womb, life has value.Do candidates honor and observe that equality comes from the standing we have as a created being endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights, among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness? Or, instead, do American voters hear that as citizens we’re endowed and kept by a government with certain rights afforded by the that same government and exist in a state of enforced dependence on said government?Do voters hear that governments have no money except the money paid into the treasury by law-abiding working, productive citizens that should be stewarded to provide for the national defense and the common welfare under the enumerated powers of the U.S. Constitution and the respective State constitutions? Or, in contrast will voters continue to hear that government will cancel debt, provide those who don’t even work a basic income and ensure that the need to be self-reliant is removed since an individual has all needs met through the power and spending of the government? The greatest threat to the Democrat Party, of both the North and the South, in the Civil War and during the Reconstruction Era was a citizenry — regardless of race — that understood their unalienable rights were protected by a government that honored their created equality, not doled out as an entitlement, and destroyed the enforced dependency of the slave plantation.Today, the greatest threat to the Democrat Party is when citizens understand the same and live in a self-reliant manner — working, keeping one’s own money, observing the enumerated rights of the Constitution and our Creator, providing for our families, and seeking a better life. The elections of 2020 are really simple. Voters will choose between enforced dependency on the government or self-reliance based on authentic Liberty, regardless of race, gender, ethnicity or other identifying factors. Americans can choose to live free.  ~The Patriot Post
