SCOTUS AMIABLE TOWARD CITIZENSHIP QUESTION: “The U.S. Supreme Court’s conservative majority on Tuesday appeared poised to hand President Donald Trump a victory on his administration’s plan to add a citizenship question to the 2020 census. … Conservative justices signaled during arguments in the closely watched case a willingness to overturn a lower court ruling that blocked the question and appeared untroubled by the administration’s stated justification for using the citizenship question in the decennial population count.” (Reuters)

ABOUT THAT NEW POLICY ON HOMOSEXUAL LEADERS… “More than 200 individuals have come forward with new allegations of sexual abuse by members of the Boy Scouts of America in recent weeks as a trio of law firms seek to uncover unidentified child abusers. A few of the victims are young, still underage or in their 20s, but many have held their secrets close for decades,” reports USA Today. “Only a handful of the new allegations are related to previously identified perpetrators. About 90% … are new. … The Scouting organization faces 200 lawsuits that its insurance companies threatened to stop covering.” All told, there may be more than 12,000 victims.

STOCK MARKET REGAINS COMPOSURE: “The S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite rallied on Tuesday to notch record closing highs as Wall Street cheered stronger-than-expected quarterly profits from some of the largest publicly traded U.S. companies. … Tuesday’s move toward an all-time closing high comes less than six months after a sharp decline in late December, which led the S&P 500 to its worst annual performance since 2008. But stocks quickly turned around as the Federal Reserve reversed course on monetary policy while the tone around U.S.-China trade talks improved.” (CNBC)

THE CLOWN CIRCUS GROWS: “Former Vice President loose lips-Joe Biden will announce his presidential bid Thursday morning with an online video… loose lips-Biden will then appear in Pittsburgh on Monday for an event at a local union hall, NBC News has learned. loose lips-Biden will then embark on a tour of the four early voting states — Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada — in the following weeks.” (NBC News)

BURGEONING MIGRATION NUMBERS: According to the Texas Tribune, “Less than seven months into the fiscal year, the number of undocumented immigrants who have been apprehended or turned themselves in to U.S. Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley has already surpassed last year’s total.” The 164,000 illegals arrested just since October is higher than the 2018 aggregate of 162,262. “The increase is the result of an ongoing surge of migrants, most of them from Central America.” Meanwhile, the Washington Examiner reports, “The Mexican government says it has deported 15,000 migrants who illegally entered Mexico from Guatemala and had been traveling as part of caravans in hopes of reaching the United States’ southern border,” though “thousands more people continue to traverse the country intent on reaching the U.S.”

VILLAGE ACADEMIC CURRICULUM: “Beginning in 2020, many Advanced Placement students will be using an American History textbook that suggests President Trump is mentally ill and that depicts him and many of his supporters as racists. The book asserts that ‘[Trump’s] not very-hidden racism connected with a significant number of primary voters.’ What connected with a significant number of primary voters was Trump’s strong opposition to illegal immigration and his concern over terrorists entering the U.S. The textbook effectively characterizes these concerns as ‘not very-hidden racism’ and those who share them as racists. … The textbook goes further. It says that scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton supporters ‘worried about the mental stability of the president-elect.’” (Power Line)

TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME IN THE UK: “President Trump will pay a state visit to the U.K. in early June, according to Buckingham Palace, which says Trump has accepted an invitation from Queen Elizabeth II to visit America’s closest ally. … Even before Buckingham Palace and the White House issued confirmation of the trip, protest groups in the U.K. announced their plans to demonstrate against the American president and his policies. ‘We have to march in huge numbers against his racism, misogyny, transphobia, and the threat he poses to the planet,’ activist and writer Owen Jones wrote, in a tweet that was shared by the U.K.‘s Stop Trump Coalition.” (NPR)

FBI found scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton’s emails in scumbag/liar-nObama White House, former top official says

by Daniel Chaitin

{ } ~ A former top FBI official said a repository of scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton’s emails was obtained by the scumbag/liar-nObama White House. As part of a court-ordered discovery related to scumbag/liar-Clinton’s unauthorized email server… Bill Priestap was asked by conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch to identify representatives of scumbag/liar-Clinton, her State Department staff, and government agencies from which “email repositories were obtained” by the FBI. He divulged a nonexhaustive list, which included the Executive Office of the President. Other people mentioned were former scumbag/liar-Clinton aides Cheryl Mills, Heather Samuelson, Jacob Sullivan, and Justin Cooper, former scumbag/liar-Clinton information technology staffer Bryan Pagliano, the State Department, Secret Service, and Washington-based law firm Williams and Connolly. Priestep answered questions in writing and under oath as part of U.S. District Judge Royce Lamberth’s ruling earlier this year that discovery could commence examining the former secretary of state’s use of the server, encompassing scumbag/liar-nObama administration senior State Department officials, lawyers, and scumbag/liar-Clinton aides, as well as Priestap. Judicial Watch shared Priestep’s recent testimony on Tuesday, at a time when Republican allies of President Trump, as well as the Justice Department and its inspector general, are looking into possible misconduct by top DOJ and FBI officials stemming back to the scumbag/liar-nObama administration to undermine Trump as a candidate and president…

The personal cost of the Trump-Russia investigation

by Byron York

{ } ~ Special counsel dirty cop-Robert Mueller’s investigation is over, but the aftereffects of the Trump-Russia affair live on… One such aftereffect is the reluctance of some important figures in the 2016 campaign to speak out, for fear of continued legal entanglements. Take J.D. Gordon, who served as the Trump campaign’s director of national security. Never accused of any wrongdoing, he played a central role in one of the most controversial and least understood episodes of the Trump-Russia matter: the approval of the 2016 GOP platform at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland. On July 18, 2016, the Washington Post published a story headlined, “Trump campaign guts GOP’s anti-Russia stance on Ukraine.” Below a scandalously erroneous headline, the piece reported that the campaign, acting contrary to the views of “almost all Republican foreign policy leaders,” killed a proposal that the United States provide lethal aid to Ukraine in its struggle against Russia. Why would the campaign do that? Democrats quickly accused Trump of watering down national security, of selling out Ukraine, to please Russian President Vladimir Putin. It got worse. As a media frenzy built, Trump opponents cited the platform as Exhibit A in their case that the Trump campaign and Russia conspired to influence the 2016 election. As the tale went, the Russians helped Trump, he was in their debt, and he paid them back by supporting weakened U.S. policy toward Ukraine. It was all entirely wrong. If anyone bothered to look into the facts — almost no one did — they would have discovered that the original draft of the GOP platform was quite strong on Russia and Ukraine. Not a word of it was removed. Then a single delegate proposed an amendment that would have added promises of tougher U.S. sanctions on Russia, greater military coordination with NATO, and the provision of “lethal defensive weapons” to Ukraine’s armed forces…

Divided Supreme Court Poised To Allow Citizenship Question On 2020 Census

by Kevin Daley

{ } ~ A deeply divided Supreme Court appeared ready to allow the Trump administration to include a citizenship question on the 2020 census form during a Tuesday morning argument… which was alternatively technical and heated. The Court’s divide followed the usual ideological lines. Though the case involves several complex questions, ultimately the Court’s conservatives seemed to say that the citizenship question is ordinary and appropriate for the census. “The principal purpose is to count the population, but we’ve had demographic questions on the census,” Chief Justice John Roberts said. “I don’t know how far back, but certainly it’s quite common.” “The questions go quite beyond how many people there are,” Roberts added, noting the census forms include questions touching finances and lifestyles. A coalition of Democratic cities, states, and civil rights groups sued the Trump administration after Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross, who supervises the Census Bureau, authorized the inclusion of the citizenship question on the 2020 census form. The plaintiffs, citing the Census Bureau’s own findings, say the question will diminish non-citizen participation. As such, the plaintiffs warn that the government’s move strikes at the very heart of democracy, since population is used to apportion federal funds, seats in Congress, and draw legislative district lines…

What’s Wrong with the Democrats’ New Health Plan?

by John C. Goodman

{ } ~ Democrats in the House of Representatives have put aside grandiose thoughts of Medicare-for-All and single-payer health insurance – at least for a day or two… Instead, they have introduced a new health plan with a more modest goal: making scumbag/liar-nObamacare work better. It has three elements: Expand health insurance subsidies to everyone. Individuals are currently ineligible for help if they earn $48,560 or more. Create a national reinsurance pool to subsidize insurance companies that incur high costs. Reverse Trump administration regulations that make it easier to obtain limited-benefit insurance. So, what’s wrong with that? For starters, it uses taxpayer dollars to give money to rich people and insurance companies. It also forces healthy families to buy insurance that doesn’t meet their needs for a price that is artificially high. But the worst feature of the plan is that it doesn’t solve scumbag/liar-nObamacare’s most important problem: people with chronic health conditions are unable to see the best doctors and enter the best hospitals. According to Nancy Pulosi, Democrats took back the House because of health care. By one estimate, Democratic candidates spent $90 million on health care ads. And in most cases, the message was simple: people with pre-existing conditions need protection. Protection from what? From Republicans, if you take seriously the Democratic argument that the GOP wants to remove sick people from their hospital beds and throw them out on the sidewalk once their insurance runs out. Once you get past that absurd bugaboo, however, there is a much bigger threat. People with medical problems need protection from scumbag/liar-nObamacare itself…

Illegal-alien Invasion Crisis Not Just at the Border

by R. Cort Kirkwood

{ } ~ Bad as the crisis is in the southwest for Customs and Border Protection, it doesn’t seem much better in the towns and cities where illegal aliens hide… once they slip past CBP or or CBP releases them. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has nailed nearly 140 illegals in the last few weeks who were identity thieves, welfare fraudsters, drug traffickers, drunk drivers, and sex fiends. The agency deported a Salvadoran gangbanger wanted back home where he belongs. The upshot? Illegal-alien criminals are working overtime to rob, maim, molest, and kill Americans. On Thursday, ICE reported, federal prosecutors nailed 12 Dominicans on a long list of crimes that involved identity and welfare theft and drug trafficking. “The investigation targeted document and benefit offenders who allegedly used the identities of U.S. citizens from Puerto Rico as their own,” ICE reported. Ten of the criminals were illegal aliens, and six “have criminal records in the names of the victims whose identities they stole.” Among the charges the dozen face are aggravated identity theft and misusing a Social Security number. Nine federal search warrants permitted the seizure of narcotics and bogus IDs. The probe of the 12 began in December. Federal prosecutors say the 12 were using Puerto Rican identities, and that “analysis from this phase of the investigation revealed that many of the wire transfers discovered are believed to be illicit proceeds of narcotics trafficking and/or alien smuggling, with funds wired to areas of concern in Mexico, including Juarez, Sinaloa, Mexico City, and Culiacan, and along with Southwest U.S. border.”…

Russian State Media Binges on Fox Prime Time and Sean Hannity Reruns

by Lachlan Markay

{ } ~ Special Counsel dirty cop-Robert Mueller’s report implicated the Russian government in a widespread campaign of hacking and political disinformation during the 2016 presidential campaign… Russian state media is nonetheless trumpeting the reaction of U.S. conservatives to the report, which found that the Trump campaign was not complicit in those election-meddling efforts, as evidence of a broad anti-Russian conspiracy in the U.S. And it’s using at least one prominent American conservative voice to do so. The Russian government-owned Rossiya 1 news channel recently broadcasted excerpts from Fox News primetime host Sean Hannity’s on-air monologue, which hammered “media hysteria” over the report and allegations of campaign “collusion” with the Russian government. In its own editorializing, Rossiya 1 described the report as “bestseller about the absence of collusion between Trump and Russia,” and blamed the political press and U.S. intelligence agencies for “hounding Trump” over the allegations, according to a translation by journalist and Daily Beast contributor Julia Davis. Though the report found no criminal conspiracy by the Trump campaign or any American to assist in Russian election-meddling efforts, it did confirm reporting that the Trump campaign solicited opposition research on 2016 rival scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton from Russian nationals whom it understood were acting at the behest of that country’s government. dirty cop-Mueller’s report also extensively documents allegedly criminal efforts by Kremlin actors to hack email accounts associated with prominent Democrats and sow political discord through social media disinformation campaigns. In a separate Rossiya 1 segment this week, the channel described dirty cop-Mueller’s investigation as “an attempt to threaten the current government and influence U.S. foreign policy without offering any specific evidence.”…

Time to Enforce the Law on Visa Overstays

Political Editors: Democrats and the Leftmedia have often sought to downplay President Donald Trump’s loudly voiced calls to tackle the problem of illegal immigration — specifically his emphasis on securing the southern border — by pivoting to point out that the “bigger” problem is visa overstays. While that is a statistically arguable observation (at least one study found that the number of visa overstays represents a higher percentage of illegal aliens than illegal border crossers do) this response is a disingenuous objection to dealing with the real crisis at the border. Why can’t both problems be addressed? Well, it appears that Trump has decided to do just that, calling the Democrats’ bluff.

On Monday, the president ordered the Departments of Justice and Homeland Security to find ways to limit the number of foreigners overstaying their short-term visas. The White House stated that the administration will “find effective ways to combat the rampant number of overstays” that are “undermining the rule of law and straining resources that are needed to address the crisis at our southern border.”

In signing his executive order, Trump stated, “We have laws that need to be followed to keep Americans safe and to protect the integrity of a system where, right now, there are millions of people who are waiting in line to come to America to see the American Dream.” It will be interesting to see how many Democrats object to Trump’s latest order to enforce the law — or what judge will strike it down. ~The Patriot Post
