Angel Families Demand Politicians Act After Illegal Alien Kills Mollie Tibbetts

by Michelle Moons

{ } ~ Angel families who have lost loved ones to illegal alien crime were outraged Tuesday after authorities revealed that… an illegal alien was announced as the alleged murderer of Iowa college student Mollie Tibbets. All three angel parents were heartbroken over yet another American killed at the hands of a foreign national illegally present in the U.S. They called out strongly for politicians to act swiftly and get behind President Donald Trump on securing the U.S. border. There was also a call to support ICE (U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement) and other law enforcement. Durden also posted online, “JUST HOW MANY MORE WILL IT TAKE FOR ALL OF AMERICA TO WAKE UP & GET BEHIND @POTUS to SECURE OUR BORDERS & CLEAN UP OUR COUNTRY. RIP Mollie. My prayers go out to her family/ friends.”…

Paul Ryan strips Duncan Hunter of committee assignments after indictment

by Pete Kasperowicz

{ } ~ House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., on Tuesday stripped Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., of his committee assignments after he was indicted for stealing campaign funds… “The charges against Rep. Hunter are deeply serious,” Ryan said. “The Ethics Committee deferred its investigation at the request of the Justice Department.” “Now that he has been indicted, Rep. Hunter will be removed from his committee assignments pending the resolution of this matter,” Ryan added. Hunter is the second early supporter of President Trump this month who has been indicted and stripped of his committee assignment. In early August, Rep. Chris Collins, R-N.Y., was indicted for insider trading, and was taken off the House Energy and Commerce Committee. Hunter and his wife were indicted Tuesday for using campaign money for a range of personal expenses, including tuition, vacations, and even dental work…

Twitter Censors David Horowitz for Calling Out Islamic Anti-Semitism

by Daniel Greenfield

{ } ~ One of the last things that David Horowitz was able to tweet before his account was locked was a link to an article… “How the Left is Outsourcing Censorship of the Internet.” The article described how the left is using tech companies to silence political dissent. Not long after, @horowitz39 was locked by Twitter. The censorship tweet wasn’t what triggered Twitter. But it does describe the great crisis we all face. Instead, David Horowitz was censored for tweeting, “But if you’re a Muslim, you might not want to be sworn in on a Judeo-Christian bible, since Islam has conducted a 1500 year war against Christians and Jews, is calling for death to Israel and has slaughtered hundreds of thousands of Christians recently.” That was in response to a user who had accused him of having a “Zionist agenda”. Instead of sanctioning a bigot who had engaged in shameless Jew-baiting, Twitter censored Horowitz for telling the truth. Twitter accused David Horowitz of violating its rules against “hateful conduct”. And that’s on a site which not only allows Louis Farrakhan, the leader of the Nation of Islam, a violently racist hate group, to use its platform, but has turned a blind eye to his top tweet, “Thoroughly and completely unmasking the Satanic Jew and the Synagogue of Satan.” According to Twitter, there’s nothing hateful about that…

The Other Shoe Has Dropped in the VW Diesel Wars

{ } ~ The German government has just decreed that all “cheating” VW diesels not turned in by their owners for “fixing” will be de-registered… This means they can’t legally be driven, have been rendered inert — several thousand pounds of deadweight their owners can no longer use. At least, not without risking more serious repercussions. Germany’s federal motor vehicle authority, the KBA, had already de-registered Audi and VW cars fitted with the “affected” Euro 5 diesel engines after owners ignored successive reminders to heed a voluntary recall. Recalls, of course, usually pertain to cars that have something wrong with them which makes them unsafe to drive. This is the first time a car that works perfectly has been subject to a recall — one which results in the “fixed” cars working less well. The “fix” entails making various adjustments to the “affected” car’s computer code — or the grafting on of a Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) injection system. The end result is a mauled car that delivers lower mileage but is now compliant — like the 87-year-old lady recently Tasered by armed government workers in Georgia…

California Used Loopholes To Keep Thousands on SNAP From Having to Work

by Charles Fain Lehman

{ } ~ Despite 10-year-low unemployment, California took advantage of loopholes in federal regulation to keep more than 800,000 federal welfare recipients from having to work… This conclusion is based on the response of the U.S. Department of Agriculture to an application to waive SNAP’s work requirements for 55 of California’s 58 counties, issued to the state in July and recently obtained by the Washington Free Beacon. California’s waiver, which will last until August of 2019, exempts more than 800,000 able-bodied, childless Californians from having to work while on SNAP. This in spite of the fact that California’s unemployment rate—4.2 percent—is at its lowest level in at least 10 years…

Chicago Mayor’s Rare Candidness Assailed

by Jordan Candler: Chicago is notorious for the number of homicides tallied there every year. For example, on the weekend of August 3-5, the number of people gunned down in Chicago totaled 74, a dozen of whom died. This past weekend, six people were murdered out of nearly 60 shot. Minorities are responsible for most of the hundreds of homicides that occur in Chicago on an annual basis. Obviously, longstanding leftist policies aren’t working. More importantly, a dearth of morality and spiritual conviction is the underlying catalyst, which even Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel at least peripherally seems to understand. He recently admonished:

This may not be politically correct, but I know the power of what faith and family can do. … Our kids need that structure. … I am asking … that we also don’t shy away from a full discussion about the importance of family and faith helping to develop and nurture character, self-respect, a value system and a moral compass that allows kids to know good from bad, and right from wrong.

If we’re going to solve this … we’ve got to have a real discussion. … Parts of the conversation cannot be off-limits because it’s not politically comfortable. … We are going to discuss issues that have been taboo in years past because they are part of the solution. … We also have a responsibility to help nurture character. It plays a role. Our kids need that moral structure in their lives. And we cannot be scared to have this conversation.

Emanuel’s message is the point — and conservative columnist Walter Williams would surely agree — yet it’s been largely ignored by leftists for decades. In truth, a message of faith and morality needs to be repeated throughout the country’s urban corridors. After all, Chicago is hardly alone when it comes to high homicide rates. Nevertheless, Fox News reports that “Emanuel is once again coming under fire for blaming a lack of morals in predominantly black and Hispanic neighborhoods for the recent spate of violent crime.” The report adds, “Critics quickly called him out for what they dubbed tone-deaf comments, in which he seemed to be blaming the victims.” These critics are simply condoning the status quo — and worse.

As Williams says, “What’s needed most is to get poor people to change their behavior. … If we wait for Washington to solve our problems, we’ll be waiting for a long time.” It’s rare that we can agree with Mayor Rahm “Never Let a Crisis Go to Waste” Emanuel, but alas, his remarks on Chicago violence are appropriate and long overdue. His message is great, but will he stick to it? Depends on whether he has character.
