Tuesday Top Headline Summary

Media Editors: “House Speaker Nancy Pulosi said in an interview that she opposes moving to impeach President Trump even though she believes he is ‘unfit’ for office,” The Washington Post reports. The Post infers that “Pulosi is well aware of the political risks of impeachment and how pursuit of the president could energize Republicans voters ahead of the 2020 election.” But National Review’s Charles C. W. Cooke speculates that Pulosi is privy to certain information related to the dirty cop-Robert Mueller probe.

“President Trump kicked off a new battle with Congress on Monday by releasing his fiscal 2020 budget plan seeking billions more in funding for a border wall and controversial work requirements for Americans collecting a variety of welfare benefits. Both proposals are sure to face resistance from Democrats, especially coming off a partial shutdown triggered by a border wall dispute that only ended when Trump declared a national emergency over immigration — a step being litigated in the courts and challenged in Congress. The requests are part of the president’s $4.7 trillion budget plan.” (Fox News)

“As growing chaos took hold in Venezuela, a country whose people have had little power, water and communications for days, the United States announced plans to withdraw all remaining personnel from its embassy there this week. … [Secretary of State Mike] Pompeo announced the decision late Monday as Venezuela struggles to restore electricity following four days of blackouts around the country and a deepening political crisis.” (Associated Press)

“The 2020 Democratic National Convention will take place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Democratic National Committee (DNC) Chairman Tom Perez announced Monday, a decision that comes after scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton narrowly lost the critical state to Donald Trump in 2016. … The city beat out Miami and Houston as the site to host the Democratic Party’s convention, which will take place between July 13 and 16. … scumbag/liar-Clinton’s unexpected loss in Wisconsin sparked widespread griping in the party that the state, which she did not campaign in once during the general election, was largely ignored in favor of bigger electoral prizes like Florida, which also ultimately went to Trump on election night.” (ABC News)

According to Politico, “Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.), one of the most outspoken advocates of the #MeToo movement who has made fighting sexual misconduct a centerpiece of her presidential campaign, spent last summer pressing legislators to update Congress’ ‘broken’ system of handling sexual harassment. At the same time, a mid-20s female aide to Gillibrand resigned in protest over the handling of her sexual harassment complaint by Gillibrand’s office, and criticized the senator for failing to abide by her own public standards.” Recall back in December when a lowlife-Kamala Harris aide stepped down for likewise harassing a female.

“The Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), a far-left nonprofit known for its ‘hate group’ designations, has surpassed a half billion dollars in total assets and now has $121 million parked offshore, according to the group’s most recent financial statements. … The SPLC’s assets increased despite its total revenue falling by $15 million last year. The SPLC hauled in $136 million in total revenue throughout 2017. This number fell to $121 million in 2018. Its contributions and grants also fell by more than $20 million from 2017 to 2018, from $132 million to $111 million. Despite the fall in revenue, the SPLC’s vast investment portfolio expanded in 2018, which included a drastic increase in the amount of money it has parked overseas.” (The Washington Free Beacon)

“ICE health officials have been notified of 236 confirmed or probable cases of mumps among detainees in 51 facilities in the past 12 months, compared to no cases detected between January 2016 and February 2018. Last year, 423 detainees were determined to have influenza and 461 to have chicken pox. All three diseases are largely preventable by vaccine. As of March 7, a total of 2,287 detainees were quarantined around the country.” (Reuters)

“New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Monday that NYC’s public schools will be going vegetarian one day per week in order to save the Earth. … Recent studies, however, have demonstrated that while eating meat does have an environmental impact, cows aren’t the Four Horsemen of the climate change apocalypse, and … in most places in the world where populations aren’t swimming in excess food, cattle, pigs, goats, and chickens provide much-needed sources of protein.” (The Daily Wire)

“President Trump apparently is tired of switching clocks just like everyone else,” Fox News reports. Coming off a universally sleep-deprived weekend during which America set the clocks to spring forward an hour, Trump tweeted that he’s ‘O.K.’ with making Daylight Saving Time ‘permanent’ — in other words, enough with the clock changing. … Republican Florida Sens. Marco Rubio and Rick Scott filed a bill last week to extend daylight saving time for the entire year, called the Sunshine Protection Act.“ Help fight communism by making daylight great again.

Policy: “It would take real reforms to Medicare that change its spending and funding formulas in order to get the U.S. government off its current path to fiscal disaster,” write the Washington Examiner editors. “Wealthy retirees should be responsible for more of their own coverage. More services should have larger co-pays. But the Trump White House has timidly sworn off these reforms.”

Policy: The Heritage Foundation’s James Gattuso says, “Just over one year ago, the Federal Communications Commission voted 3-2 to repeal the network neutrality rules it adopted in 2015. However, the FCC regulation could make a comeback if House Democrats have their way.” Here’s why this is a bad idea.

California: Majority of Millennials Consider Leaving State

by Tim Brown

{freedomoutpost.com} ~ It truly is an interesting time. While Marxist millennials like commie-Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez are pushing for the ultimate in a Socialist Utopia… many millennials in California are seeking to abandon such a “utopia.” In a report from contributor Bethany Blankley, published at the Washington Free Beacon, she reports on the fact that half of Californians plan to leave the state. Among those wanting to leave, a whopping 63% are millennials. California leads the nation in outmigration, and has experienced a domestic outmigration decline since 1991, according to the California Department of Finance.According to a recent survey, 53 percent of all Californians, 63 percent of millennials, and 76 percent of residents in the Bay Area say they are seriously considering leaving the state. California has recorded net domestic out-migration since at least 1991, according to state data, meaning it has lost more people to other states than it has brought in from them – nearly every year. In 2018, the Bay Area hit its highest level of outward migration in more than a decade, and still holds the top spot in the country for outmigration… https://freedomoutpost.com/california-majority-of-millennials-consider-leaving-state/

Pulosi Opposes ‘Divisive’ Efforts to Impeach Trump: ‘He’s Just Not Worth It’

by Alex Griswold

{freebeacon.com} ~ House Speaker Nancy Pulosi revealed for the first time Monday that she opposes the impeachment of President Donald Trump… “There have been increasing calls, including from some of your members, for impeachment of the president,” noted Washington Postreporter Joe Heim. “I’m not for impeachment,” the California Democrat responded. “This is news. I’m going to give you some news right now because I haven’t said this to any press person before.” “Impeachment is so divisive to the country that unless there’s something so compelling and overwhelming and bipartisan, I don’t think we should go down that path, because it divides the country,” she continued. “And he’s just not worth it.” Pulosi insisted later in the interview that it is her view Trump is “ethically” and “intellectually” unfit to be president, but she doesn’t believe that ought to be her focus. “I don’t usually talk about him this much. This is the most I’ve probably talked about him. I hardly ever talk about him,” she said. “You know, it’s not about him. It’s about what we can do for the people to lower health-care costs, bigger paychecks, cleaner government.” Pulosi was previously critical of calls for impeachment without overtly opposing the idea, saying billionaire Tom Steyer’s media blitz during the 2018 midterm elections was “a gift to the Republicans.” Pelosi was also among the top Democrats who were critical in January of Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s call to “impeach the motherf***er.”… https://freebeacon.com/politics/pelosi-opposes-divisive-efforts-to-impeach-trump-hes-just-not-worth-it/?utm_source=Freedom+Mail&utm_campaign=ebeb0f6b5d-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2018_03_19_COPY_02&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_b5e6e0e9ea-ebeb0f6b5d-45611665

The Democrats have been taken over by their Socialist Wing

by Matty Mattson

{ipatriot.com} ~ At his weekly press conference, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) railed against the far-left lurch that the Democrat Party has undertaken in recent years… The leader argued that the “transition” was now complete, the Democrats have been taken over by a new Democrat-Socialist Party, McCarthy also explained that the GOP in the House was “united and frustrated.” “We’re very united, and frustrated, that the Democratic Party is now taken over by the socialist-progressive wing on their side,” McCarthy opined. We saw when this new Democrat-Socialist Party was presented with an amendment that recognizes that allowing illegal immigrants to vote diminishes the franchise and diminishes the voting power of American citizens, they rejected that. What’s most ironic is we voted on this a few months before, and 49 Democrats voted to uphold the franchise of the American voters. Today, only 6 Democrats voted for identical language, only 6. What changed in those few short months? The sanctity of the ballot is suddenly controversial in the new Democrat-Socialist Party. The socialist grip could not be tighter. This week, the House Republicans also asked for unanimous consent for the 12th, 13th, and 14th time to consider the born-alive abortion survivor protection act, and each time the Democrats rejected it, but we will continue to ask every single day until the Democrats agree to bring it up. This isn’t the Democratic Party that we’ve come to know, the transition is now complete. The Democrat-Socialist wing of the party controls their own leadership. We continue to see the very clear contrast between freedom and socialism throughout this Congress…  https://ipatriot.com/the-democrats-have-been-taken-over-by-their-socialist-wing/

The 109th Congress Border Wall Bill – What’s Changed?

by Marissa Martinez

{aim.org} ~ There has been a lot of conversation as to when the border wall along our southern border first started… Many folks believe the controversial topic was only brought to light by then Republican candidate for president, Donald Trump during his 2015-2016 campaign. Although this is one of many campaign promises, the real estate mogul didn’t craft this legislation himself. In fact to the surprise of many, legislation titled “The Secure Fence Act of 2006” was signed into law on October 26, 2006. George W. Bush was the pioneer in adding a physical barrier to enhance the security to the south end of our country. In “The Secure Fence Act of 2006,” the White House Press Secretary’s office put out the following statement: “By making wise use of physical barriers and deploying 21st-century technology, we can help our Border Patrol Agents do their job and make our border more secure.” Even though the 109th Congress held a Republican majority until the 2006 mid-terms, this act received full bi-partisan support. In the House of Representatives by a vote of 283-138, it passed into the Senate, receiving 80-19 votes, passing onto the President’s desk. The difference between Bush’s trailblazing immigration policy versus Trump’s continuous path on the same trail of safety and security is time. Specifically, a decade in between the two pieces of legislation. Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the U.S., told a New York Times columnist Maureen Dowd, “I think the media have been harder on Trump than any other president certainly that I’ve known about.” President Carter, not a Republican nor a Trump supporter, claiming him and his wife voted for commie-Bernie Sanders in the 2016 democratic primary, noticed how bias and difficult the news coverage has been on our current president. A 2019 Pew study also found that 73 percent of Republicans do not believe the mainstream media understand ‘people like them.’  https://www.aim.org/aim-investigates/the-109th-congress-border-wall-bill-whats-changed/?utm_source=AIM+-+Daily+Email&utm_campaign=Daily%20Email%20Mar-11-2019&utm_medium=email&utm_source=AIM+-+Daily+Email&utm_campaign=baf993405b-email061114_COPY_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_c4ddfc8d9d-baf993405b-224223533

commie-AOC Implies America is Garbage, Suggests Reagan Stirred Racial Animus

by Virginia Kruta

{dailycaller.com} ~ Democratic New York Rep. commie-Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said that “where we are” as Americans amounts to “garbage”… during an appearance at the South By Southwest Conference & Festivals (SXSW). commie-Ocasio-Cortez sat down with The Intercept’s senior politics editor Briahna Gray to talk about the progressive left’s next move. “What’s really hard for people to sometimes see is that we are on this path of a slow erosion, and a slow slow slow just like — move away from what we’ve always been,” commie-Ocasio-Cortez began by explaining how she feels that America has moved away from what it should be. “You won’t even realize that you’ve drifted a hundred miles.” She then appeared to suggest that her Democratic Socialist policies represent core American values, arguing that we had just strayed so far from them that we couldn’t recognize them anymore. “So when someone’s talking about ‘our core,’ they’re like, ‘oh, this is radical,’ but it isn’t radical. This is what we’ve always been,” she said. “I think all of these things sound radical compared to where we are,” she concluded, “but where we are is not a good thing. And this idea of like, ten percent better than garbage, it shouldn’t be what we settle for.”… commie-AOC is totally off her rocker and is wrong.  https://dailycaller.com/2019/03/10/ocasio-cortez-where-we-are-america-garbage/

House Demos’ Election (Fraud) Bill

Thomas Gallatin: The Democrat-controlled House passed bill HR 1 Friday — the dubiously named “For the People Act.” The purpose of the bill, according to Democrats, is to “expand Americans’ access to the ballot box, reduce the influence of big money in politics, and strengthen ethics rules for public servants.” However, far from “expanding Americans’ access to the ballot box,” the bill instead runs roughshod over Americans’ constitutional rights and states’ rights, diminishing the power of citizens’ votes by failing to prohibit noncitizen voting.

Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) noted the irony of a bill ostensibly crafted to expand and protect the voting rights of Americans but doing the exact opposite: “It sounds like I’m making it up. What kind of government would cancel the vote of its own citizens, and replace it with noncitizens?” Crenshaw added, “Today I offered a motion to recommit #HR1 reaffirming that only US citizens should have the right to vote. Dems rejected it. Next time you go to the ballot box, keep that in mind. The future of their party is in cities like San Fran, where illegals can vote. Let that sink in.”

The bill makes an absolute mockery of federalism, as it would establish greater centralized control over elections by Washington bureaucrats. In other words, this bill is little more than a federal power grab that National Review’s editors criticize for “creating a chilling effect on political communications through sheer uncertainty and confusion.” NR’s editors further note, “Democrats seem to believe that political speech is just too dangerous to be unrestrained. It has to be micromanaged, regulated by technocrats until it is directed into its government-approved lanes. This is of course exactly what incumbent politicians tend to prefer. They want predictable debates, reliable funding streams, and (above all) power — including the power to punish their opponents.”

In fact, HR 1 is so bad that even the leftist American Civil Liberties Union opposes it, writing in a 13-page letter that the bill would “unconstitutionally impinge on the free speech rights of American citizens and public interest organizations.” And the chairman of the Institute for Free Speech, Bradley Smith, observes that the Democrats’ “goal seems to be to limit discussion of candidates to the candidates and parties themselves, at the expense of the public at large. However, even candidates are likely to find their speech severely restricted were H.R. 1 to become law.”

The Heritage Foundation’s Hans von Spakovsky astutely argues, “All legislation proposed by Congress should be necessary, constitutional, and good policy. H.R. 1 is none of these things. It is unnecessary, unconstitutional, and bad policy. It does nothing to protect voters or to help election officials administer a fair and secure voter registration and election process. Put bluntly, it imposes federal micromanagement on the states, reversing the local oversight of the election process that our Founders believed was essential to preserving liberty and freedom in America.”

This is nothing but a bald-face attempt by Democrats to further direct and control the outcome of America’s national elections. It is anything but constitutional or democratic for that matter. Legislation like this, coupled with the attempt by several Democrat-controlled states to subvert the Electoral College, is yet more evidence of the extreme Left’s near-complete takeover of the Democrat Party. And for all intents and purposes, the current Democrat Party has more in common with one-party Marxism than the U.S. Constitution. ~ The Patriot Post
