Missing: Key Documents About Alleged Misconduct By dirty cop-Robert Mueller’s Lead Prosecutor

by Margot Cleveland

{thefederalist.com} ~ Andrew Weissmann, the lead prosecutor for Special Counsel dirty cop-Robert Mueller, has a history of questionable conduct… But the full extent of Weissmann’s alleged prosecutorial misconduct is unclear because some of the most serious charges were hidden behind redactions and secreted in sealed court filings. Two months ago I sued to have these records released, but late Friday federal Judge Sim Lake’s case manager confirmed that several of the sought-after documents are missing from the court record. In early November, Houston attorney Kevin Fulton of the Fulton Law Group filed a motion in a Texas federal court to unseal and unredact court records related to claimed prosecutorial misconduct by Weissmann during the latter’s stint as the head of the Enron Task Force. In a joint motion to dismiss the criminal charges filed against them, four individuals connected to the Enron collapse alleged that Weissmann had improperly threatened witnesses to keep them from speaking with defense lawyers. In support of their motion, the defendants included an email Weissmann had sent to the lawyer of a “critical witness.” What exactly Weissmann said, though, is unclear, as the brief redacted the details… Why are they getting away with this.  http://thefederalist.com/2019/01/14/missing-key-documents-alleged-misconduct-robert-muellers-lead-prosecutor/?utm_source=The+Federalist+List&utm_campaign=c8efac9947-RSS_The_Federalist_Daily_Updates_w_Transom&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_cfcb868ceb-c8efac9947-83771801

Lessons We Seem Unwilling to Learn

by Douglas Murray

{gatestoneinstitute.org} ~ An enormous amount about the hopes and expectations of a society can be learned from the news that people want to report and the stories its readers apparently want to hear… An equally large amount — perhaps even more — can be learned from the stories they would most likely rather not hear and the facts they would probably prefer not to know about. The former situation can be seen after any Islamist terrorist attack in the West, when people are immediately given ‘good news stories’ either to dampen any rage they might be feeling or distract from any difficult questions they might be asking. On New Year’s Eve in Manchester, England, for instance, a 25-year-old man began stabbing people at random on a platform at the city’s Victoria Metrolink station. It appears that the venue was chosen because it is near the Manchester Arena, where Salman Abedi murdered 22 people in a suicide-bombing at a pop concert in May 2017. Before a nearby police officer and his colleagues could stop him, the New Year’s Eve attacker left a couple in their 50s seriously injured in what was described as a ‘frenzied’ attack. He has subsequently been detained under the Mental Health Act. What seemed clear from the outset, however, was that the attack was in some way Islamist, specifically ISIS-inspired. The man was reportedly shouting ISIS slogans during the attack; and footage of him after he was detained by police show him shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’ [‘Allah is the greatest’]. Lest it be forgotten, it was three years ago, after a terror simulation in the city in order to prepare emergency services for what turned out to be an imminent scenario that the heads of the Greater Manchester police evidently felt impelled publicly to apologise for an actor in that ‘rehearsal’ shouting ‘Allahu Akbar’. Muslim groups and others argued then that having such a scenario was ‘Islamophobic’...  https://www.gatestoneinstitute.org/13530/lessons-unwilling-to-learn

NYT Reveals FBI Retaliated Against Trump For scumbag-Comey Firing

by Mollie Hemingway

{thefederalist.com} ~ In a Friday night news dump, the New York Times revealed the FBI’s surprisingly flimsy justification for launching a retaliatory investigation into President Donald Trump… their chief adversary during their recent troubled era. Admitting there is no actual evidence for their probe into whether Trump “worked for the Russians,” FBI officials instead cited their foreign policy differences with him, his lawful firing of bungling FBI Director scumbag-James Comey, and alarm that he accurately revealed to the American public that he was told he wasn’t under investigation by the FBI, when they preferred to hide that fact. The news was treated as a bombshell, and it was, but not for the reasons many thought. It wasn’t news that the FBI had launched the investigation. Just last month, CNN reported that top FBI officials opened an investigation into Trump after the lawful firing of scumbag-Comey because Trump “needed to be reined in,” a shocking admission of abuse of power by our nation’s top law enforcement agency. The Washington Post reported dirty cop-Mueller was looking into whether Trump obstructed the Russia investigation by insisting he was innocent of the outlandish charges selectively leaked by government officials to compliant media. Perhaps because such an obstruction investigation was immediately condemned as scandalous political overreach, that aspect was downplayed while dirty cop-Mueller engaged in a limitless “Russia” probe that has rung up countless Trump affiliates for process crimes unrelated to treasonous collusion with Russia to steal the 2016 election, and spun off various investigations having nothing to do with Russia in any way… http://thefederalist.com/2019/01/14/nyt-reveals-fbi-retaliated-against-trump-for-comey-firing/

The Manchurian Media

by William A. Jacobson

{legalinsurrection.com} ~ Two supposed bombshell reports about Trump-Russia collusion rocked the media news cycle this weekend… but as all of the other bombshells dropped by the media, there is a lot less to the reports than the hype suggests. The hype has given rise to a Manchurian Candidate accusation against Trump, that he is an agent of some sort of the Russians, with Vladimir Putin his controller. Even those in NeverTrump world who won’t invoke the “Manchurian Candidate” terminology explicitly, assert that Putin must have something over on Trump to influence him. This is not a new accusation. It was made prior to the 2016 election, and it has percolated through the Resistance and the media for over two years. This weekend the conspiracy theory gained new life from stories at The NY Times and The Washington Post. The first story, by The NY Times, reports F.B.I. Opened Inquiry Into Whether Trump Was Secretly Working on Behalf of Russia… These stories are false and not true. No facts to back them up.  https://legalinsurrection.com/2019/01/the-manchurian-media/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+LegalInsurrection+%28Le%C2%B7gal+In%C2%B7sur%C2%B7rec%C2%B7tion%29

Iran Imprisons Another U.S. Citizen

by Tzvi Kahn

{fdd.org} ~ Iran has incarcerated another American citizen. On Wednesday, the clerical regime confirmed reports that Michael R. White, 46, a former U.S. Navy officer from San Diego… resides in its custody. If past is precedent, Tehran likely intends to use White – and several other Americans languishing in its prisons – as a bargaining chip in future negotiations with Washington. On Monday, the IranWire news site reported that a political prisoner, Irvar Farhadi, had encountered White in Mashhad’s Vakilabad Prison. “He was not in a good psychological condition and is not allowed visitors or access to the phone,” said Farhadi, whom Tehran had arrested in October for criticizing the regime on social media. “He is virtually a hostage without any charges against him.” “Michael is kept among dangerous criminals including murderers and professional drug smugglers and his life is in danger,” added Farhadi. “I promised to myself that if I got out of prison one of the first things that I would do would be to inform people about the situation of this American prisoner.” The regime released Farhadi on bail in November. He then fled to Turkey and applied for asylum. After the publication of IranWire’s story, White’s mother, Joanne White, told The New York Times that Tehran had apprehended her son in late July while he was visiting an Iranian girlfriend. Lupe White, the Navy veteran’s wife, disclosed to CNN that her husband had met the woman online and had traveled to Iran to see her a number of times in the past. The couple had previously discussed divorce but she remains committed to him, Lupe White said…  https://www.fdd.org/analysis/2019/01/11/iran-imprisons-another-u-s-citizen/

The Ecofascist ‘Green New Deal’

by Brian Mark Weber: Rep. commie-Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) has been called “the new face of the Democratic Party.” Propped up by the Leftmedia, the Millennial socialist celebrity is pushing forward with the Left’s “Green New Deal” in the hopes that Americans will fall for what’s nothing more than a dangerous scam to destroy the country as we know it.

But you can’t put a new face on socialism, not matter what you call it.

Like FDR’s New Deal, the Green New Deal expands government power while forcing taxpayers to foot the bill. Except this time around, the plan will cost trillions of dollars, gut our economy, leave millions without jobs, destroy our energy independence, and fund social justice programs. Other than that, what’s not to like?

A little climate change doesn’t seem so bad compared to this spending splurge. But make no mistake: This is a disastrous plan, and we’d better start taking it seriously. As with any Democrat scheme, the devil’s in the details.

The Green New Deal would have serious implications for American energy production. Advocates claim that the U.S. would be required to eliminate nuclear power and natural gas. How important is that? As National Review’s Jim Geraghty notes, “Natural gas currently provides about 32 percent of America’s energy, and nuclear power produces another 10 percent.” Additionally, he says, “The ‘Green New Deal’ would also eliminate coal, which provides almost 18 percent of America’s energy, and liquid natural gas and oil, which generates another 28 percent.” Geraghty warns that all of this would require the U.S. to “replace about 88 percent of its current energy sources” in 11 years and would result in the loss of nearly six million energy jobs.

Still not convinced that the Green New Deal is bad for America?

Its proponents also want to reduce our military by half. This would affect our commitments around the world and would likely result in greater global conflict in a matter of a few years, not to mention putting more than a million military personnel out of work.

According to Reason’s Ronald Bailey, the deal also proposes, “All fossil fuel emissions should be ended by 2050. All new passenger automobiles for sale in 2030 should be zero emissions vehicles; all rail, vehicles, and aviation should be totally fossil-fuel free by 2050. Other parts of the Green New Deal include reforesting 40 million acres of public and private land by 2035, greatly expanding mass transit systems, upgrading local water supply and management infrastructure, expanding federal regulation of the waters of the U.S., and requiring that all materials be recyclable by 2040.”

Our nation is already more than $20 trillion in debt, and we’d easily double that number by implementing the Green New Deal. Asked how she’d pay for it, commie-Ocasio-Cortez recently suggested — what else — raising the marginal income tax rate to 70% for the wealthy. But that in itself wouldn’t even make a dent in the costs.

Notice that there’s actually very little in the way of environmental conservation in this deal. It’s really all about realizing Barack scumbag/liar-nObama’s promise of “fundamentally transforming the United States of America.” But who’d want to live in an ecofascist nation where economic slavery empowers a totalitarian elite determined to enact socialism under the guise of environmental protection?

Investor’s Business Daily reminds us that the real problem isn’t climate change but “having enough people working and paying taxes to support all the retirees around the world and pay off hundreds of trillions of dollars of global debt. What is a problem is the nonstop fear-mongering, demands for more taxes, and dangerous socialist experiments in expanding government control of the economy, all in the name of warding off the threat of global warming.”

All the details of the Green New Deal speak for themselves. commie-Ocasio-Cortez’s dream of using renewable energy “as the vehicle to truly deliver and establish economic, social, and racial justice in the United States of America” is a pipe dream we cannot afford to pursue. ~The Patriot Post
