Thursday News Executive Summary

“The U.S. Education Department on Wednesday finalized campus sexual assault rules that bolster the rights of the accused, reduce legal liabilities for schools and colleges, and narrow the scope of cases schools will be required to investigate,” the AP reports. Education Secretary Betsy DeVos explained that the reform “recognizes we can continue to combat sexual misconduct without abandoning our core values of fairness, presumption of innocence and due process.” The scumbag/liar-nObama administration not only didn’t recognize this balancing act but essentially nullified due process altogether. loose lips liar-Joe Biden, himself accused of sexual assault, helpfully added, “This new rule gives colleges a green light to ignore sexual violence and strip survivors of their rights.”

According to Fox News, “Acting Director of National Intelligence Richard Grenell has told House Intelligence Committee Chairman scumbag/liar-Adam Schiff that transcripts from the panel’s Russia probe are cleared for public release, as House Republicans demand access to the materials.” In May 2019, scumbag/liar-Schiff asserted of collusion, “I think there is direct evidence.” Yet the transcripts “show top law enforcement and intelligence officials affirming they had no evidence of collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia during the 2016 election,” Fox News also reports. Meanwhile, Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s mandate “went significantly beyond what was known previously.” If anything, this helps Trump, because what turned out to be an even broader investigation still yielded a nothing burger.

Yesterday, President Trump vetoed the Iran War Powers resolution, lampooning it as “a very insulting resolution, introduced by Democrats as a part of a strategy to win an election on November 3 by dividing the Republican Party.” Said resolution “directs the President to terminate the use of United States Armed Forces for hostilities against the Islamic Republic of Iran or any part of its government or military, unless explicitly authorized by a declaration of war or specific authorization for use of military force against Iran.” Peculiarly, the resolution was a rejoinder to the much-deserved precision strike on Iranian terrorist leader Qasem Soleimani. Thankfully, the Senate’s endeavor to override the veto today appears bleak.

‘Major Breakthrough’: Israel Unveils Coronavirus Treatment Ready for Production

by Michael Foust{ } ~ Israeli scientists searching for an antidote for the coronavirus announced a major advancement Monday in a joint statement with the Ministry of Defense… Scientists at the Israel Institute for Biological Research said they had isolated a key coronavirus antibody and developed a “monoclonal neutralising antibody” that “can neutralise” the coronavirus “inside carriers’ bodies,” Defense Minister Naftali Bennett said in the statement, according to  Reuters. Bennett visited the research facility Monday and was briefed on a “significant breakthrough in finding an antidote for the coronavirus,” the statement said. “I am proud of the Biological Institute staff, who have made a major breakthrough,” Bennett said. “The Jewish creativity and ingenuity brought about this amazing achievement.” The research team has completed the development phase and is seeking a patent, the statement said. After it is patented, the Israel Institute for Biological Research will seek a “contract for its commercial development,”  The  Jerusalem Post reported. The antibody is the latest positive development in the battle against the coronavirus. Anthony Fauci, head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said last week he believes it’s possible to have hundreds of millions of doses of a coronavirus vaccine ready for the general public by January. It’s part of the Trump administration’s Operation Warp Speed project. “I think that is doable if things fall in the right place,” he said. Meanwhile, Pfizer announced Tuesday it has begun human trials on a vaccine against the coronavirus. It is working with German pharmaceutical company BioNTech. “With our unique and robust clinical study program underway, starting in Europe and now the U.S., we look forward to advancing quickly and collaboratively with our partners at BioNTech and regulatory authorities to bring a safe and efficacious vaccine to the patients who need it most,” Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla said in a statement. “The short, less than four-month time frame in which we’ve been able to move from preclinical studies to human testing, is extraordinary.”…

Texas AG tells judge to free Dallas woman ‘unjustly jailed’ for operating hair salon

By Tyler Olson{ } ~ Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton on Wednesday sent a letter urging a Dallas judge to free a woman he sent to jail a day earlier after she refused to apologize for keeping her hair salon open… in violation of Gov. Greg Abbott’s order aimed at slowing the spread of the coronavirus. Soon after, Abbott said he agreed with his attorney general on the matter. Paxton, whose office said Shelly Luther was “unjustly jailed” in a release, told Dallas County State District Judge Eric Moyé that he had abused his discretion and emphasized that the woman was keeping her business open in order to feed her family. “As a mother, Ms. Luther wanted to feed her children,” Paxton said in his letter. “As a small business owner, she wanted to help her employees feed their children. Needless to say, these are laudable goals that warrant the exercise of enforcement discretion.” Luther was given three choices by the judge: She could offer an apology for selfishness, pay a fine and shutdown until Friday, or serve jail time. “I have to disagree with you, sir, when you say that I’m selfish because feeding my kids is not selfish,” she told the judge. “I have hairstylists that are going hungry because they would rather feed their kids. So sir, if you think the law is more important than kids getting fed, then please go ahead with your decision. But I am not going to shut the salon.” Her sentence was reportedly meant to reflect the seven days she kept her salon open in violation of the governor’s order, but on Wednesday the governor sided with Luther. “I join the Attorney General in disagreeing with the excessive action by the Dallas Judge, putting Shelley Luther in jail for seven days,” Abbott said. “As I have made clear through prior pronouncements, jailing Texans for non-compliance with executive orders should always be the last available option. Compliance with executive orders during this pandemic is important to ensure public safety; however, surely there are less restrictive means to achieving that goal than jailing a Texas mother.” Paxton also cited in his letter the state’s efforts to reduce its jail population and the fact that the order keeping salons closed is set to expire Friday. “In light of the foregoing, your actions abused your discretion in holding Ms. Luther in contempt and ordering her to jail in a civil court proceeding,” Paxton said. “For these reasons, the Court should immediately reconsider its order and release Ms. Luther from confinement.” The dustup Wednesday over Luther’s actions came after two Texas Republican lawmakers got illegal haircuts at another business in protest of the fact that hair salons and barbershops were not part of the initial wave of businesses to reopen under the governor’s plan. “Hairstylists and the cosmetology industry don’t have a lot of lobbyists in the Capitol advocating for them, whereas maybe the big-box stores and large restaurant chains do and sadly they were overlooked when this should have been an industry that was opened first, because of how regulated they are and the health standards they have to comply with,” state Rep. Briscoe Cain said, according to Fox 26 Houston. He was joined by Rep. Steve Toth in his act of civil disobedience. Hours after the two politicians’ haircuts, Abbott announced that hair salons, barbershops and tanning salons would be allowed to open beginning on Friday, but with strict social distancing measures. For example, each stylist can only be assisting one customer at a time, according to Fox 26 Houston.

GOP Lawmakers To scumbag/liar-Adam Schiff: Release The Russia Hoax Transcripts!!!

by Jeff Dunetz{ } ~ Mr. Transparency is at it again. Fox News is reporting that GOP members of the House are accusing  scumbag/liar-Adam Schiff (D-CA), chairman of the Intelligence Committee of blocking their requests to acquire the transcripts of his committee Russiagate interviews… “A letter penned by House Judiciary Committee Ranking Member Jim Jordan, R-OH, and signed by nearly two dozen House Republicans, calling for access to interview transcripts and other material obtained during the House Intelligence Committee’s Russia probe.” Obviously, these documents contain exculpatory information about President Trump as scumbag/liar-Schiff acts as if his number one goal in life is making sure this President gets booted out of office. To be totally honest, I have sent in a request to sit next to scumbag/liar-Schiff at Trump’s second inauguration, so I can taunt him. POLITICO Peddles Red China Propaganda Attempting To Own Trump–Gets SLAMMED On Twitter The letter, directed to scumbag/liar-Schiff, D-Calif., and committee Ranking Member Devin Nunes, R-Calif., referenced the panel’s investigation into “Russian active measures to influence the 2016 presidential election, including whether individuals associated with the presidential campaigns worked with Russia,” which began in January 2017. The committee “after interviewing 73 individuals and reviewing over 300,000 documents” issued a report in 2018 revealing that “the Trump campaign did not collude with Russia,” it states. It adds that the committee voted in September 2018 to release “53 transcripts.” “We understand now that Chairman scumbag/liar-Schiff is blocking the release of these transcripts,” they wrote. “This news, if accurate, is disturbing—especially in light of Chairman scumbag/liar-Schiff’s cries in 2019 for transparency regarding allegations that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia.” Gee, I remember when scumbag/liar-Adam Schiff demanded transparency. But that was only when he thought transparency would hurt President Trump…  VIDEO:

Trump nominates former Kavanaugh clerk for influential appeals court

By HARPER NEIDIG{ } ~ President Trump announced on Friday that he would be nominating Justin Walker, a federal judge in Kentucky and a protégé of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh… to a seat on the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals, considered the second most important court in the country. Walker, 37, was confirmed for a seat on the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Kentucky just five months ago. He was a controversial nominee for the district court seat and was approved by committee and confirmed on the Senate floor in party-line votes. Walker was rated “not qualified” by the American Bar Association (ABA) for his lack of trial experience, having apparently never tried a case in court. “In addition, based on review of his biographical information and conversations with Mr. Walker, it was challenging to determine how much of his ten years since graduation from law school has been spent in the practice of law,” the ABA said in a letter to the Senate last year. “Even crediting the time spent in judicial clerkships, Mr. Walker’s practice experience is less than his 10 years since graduation and significantly less than the 12 years of legal practice experience stated in our criteria.” After graduating from Harvard Law School, Walker clerked for Kavanaugh, then a D.C. Circuit judge, and former Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy. He went on to work at two private law firms and teach part-time at the University of Louisville law school. Before attending law school, Walker served as a speechwriter to former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld. He’ll be replacing Judge Thomas Griffith, a George W. Bush appointee, who recently announced that he’d be retiring from the D.C. Circuit in August…

ICC Colluding With Terror-Tied Groups to Push Prosecution of U.S., Israeli Personnel

By Adam Kredo{ } ~ The International Criminal Court is working alongside several organizations and individuals tied to terrorism as it seeks to prosecute American and Israeli personnel for war crimes, according to a new report out of Israel… The findings  call into question the court’s integrity at a time when it is facing international backlash over its pursuit of politically motivated cases. The report—from the Jerusalem Center for Public Affairs (JCPA), an Israel-based research group headed by a former adviser to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu—concludes that under the leadership of Chief Prosecutor Fatou Bensouda, the ICC collaborated with terror-tied groups to pursue charges against American and Israeli military officials it claims are guilty of committing war crimes against civilians, including in Afghanistan and Palestinian territories. The cases originated with complaints filed to the court by two nonprofit advocacy groups with ties to terrorism. In its report, “How the ICC Has Been Weaponized Against the U.S. and Israel,” the JCPA details how two international nonprofit groups hijacked the ICC to ensure it targets the United States and Israel for prosecution on charges that both nations have called unwarranted. Researchers uncovered new information indicating that “radical NGOs, some of which are affiliated with terror organizations, collaborated in promoting the complaints against the U.S. and Israel.” The findings are likely to stoke already mounting frustrations with the court in Congress and the Trump administration, which has repeatedly condemned the ICC’s pursuit of charges against American military personnel. The United States is not a party to the court and has vowed to defend itself against any legal action. Israel has adopted a similar stance on the court, which has repeatedly attempted to single out Jews for prosecution related to the country’s efforts to combat Palestinian terrorism.”Any attempt by a renegade ICC to investigate U.S. personnel is illegitimate and unjustified,” State Department Spokesperson Morgan Ortagus told the Washington Free Beacon. The ICC’s case against the United States originated in complaints issued by two nonprofit advocacy groups—the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) and the Center for Constitutional Rights. Both groups “are closely related to the Palestinian NGOs that brought the complaint against Israel to the ICC,” according to the JCPA’s report. The NGOs—Al-Haq, Al-Dameer, Al Mezan, and the Palestinian Center for Human Rights (PCHR)—”maintain strong ties to the designated terror organizations Hamas and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP),” according to a 2019 Israeli government investigation.  Further, the NGOs are tied to a network of anti-Israel activists who use the human rights community to push radical agendas at a range of international institutions, including the United Nations…

Tara Reade says ‘creepy’ voice messages, online harassment targeting her, family

By Joseph A. Wulfsohn{ } ~ Tara Reade says she is facing an onslaught of online harassment and is concerned about the safety of her family… after becoming the center of a political firestorm over her sexual-assault allegation against her former boss loose lips liar-Joe Biden. “I find it astounding — the hypocrisy that Democrats are talking about women being able to tell their story safely,” Reade told Fox News on Saturday. “I’m a Democrat, a lifelong Democrat, but yet here I am trying to talk about my history with loose lips liar-Joe Biden and I’m just the target of online harassment.” Reade said fake social media accounts have been created to impersonate her, pointing to one Facebook account with uploaded personal pictures of her and her family, and posts not authored by her. A screenshot of one post was shared on Twitter by an apparent loose lip liar-Biden supporter named Naomi Block, falsely accusing Reade of “deliberately tossing Christine Blasey Ford under the dang bus,” referring to a fake quote from the account. The Facebook page, which was using the handle “@TaraReada,” also listed a fake website that used Reade’s full name. Among Facebook’s policies that the page violates includes  “misrepresentation.” Facebook users are now able to report on imposter accounts in the Help Center. The fake Tara Reade page appears to have been taken down on Sunday. Reade told Fox News that the home address of a family member was plastered online and that person received four “creepy” calls on Friday night, all within 30 minutes, from an unknown number. In two voice messages obtained by Fox News, a caller appeared to have posed as a journalist seeking to speak with Reade. “Hi Ms. Reade, this is Dave Johnson from the Observer, a small New York newspaper,” the voice says before laughing uncontrollably, later saying “Jeffrey Epstein didn’t kill himself” and “Trump 2020.” In the second voice message, which was the third attempt at calling Reade’s family member, the caller says: “Hey Tara, this is Dave Johnson with the Observer and I would really love, I’d really appreciate a call back so we can discuss your new powerful allegation against Vice President loose lips liar-Biden. I think you’re setting a tone and underscoring a double standard put forth by the Me Too movement, so I’d really appreciate it if you could just call me back, give me a couple of quick questions.”…

Trump’s Town Hall: Quick Reopening, Confident of Vaccine

Thomas Gallatin

In a unique virtual town hall from the Lincoln Memorial on Sunday, President Donald Trump fielded questions from Fox News hosts Bret Baier and Martha MacCallum. Foremost on his mind was the China Virus pandemic and the nation’s ongoing reopening efforts.

Trump said he’s “very confident” that a COVID-19 vaccine will be developed “by the end of the year.” While many health experts estimate the timeline for a vaccine to be many months if not years away, Dr. Anthony Fauci recently expressed hope that it could come sooner, stating this past weekend that a vaccine by January was “doable if things fall in the right place.”Underscoring the devastating nature of the pandemic, Trump stated, “There’s no win here.” He then soberly predicted that the number of Americans killed by the coronavirus could reach “anywhere from 75, 80, to 100,000 people.” However, he asserted that without the decisive action taken by his administration, “the minimum we would have lost was a million two, a million four, a million five. That’s the minimum.”The plight of the 30 million newly unemployed Americans  has clearly weighed heavily on Trump, and he spoke in solidarity with Americans protesting what they view as overly restrictive state orders. “A lot of people want to go back. You see demonstrations all over the country — and those are meaningful demonstrations,” he said. “Now we have to get it open. We have to get it open safely, but we have to get it open as quickly as possible.”It was clear by the title of the town hall — “America Together: Returning to Work” — that Trump believes we must move forward with opening back up, albeit on a state-by-state basis. “I think you can really have it both ways. I think a lot of people wanna go back,” he asserted. “But you also have some people that are very scared. Probably everybody’s scared when you get right down to it.” But, he continued, “There are other people that are scared about being locked in a room and losing their job and not having any income. … These are workers. These are people that wanna get back and work and make a living, and they’re afraid their job’s not gonna be there. And at a certain point if you keep it [shut down] too long, that’s gonna happen. So I understand that very well.”He also took aim at one of his biggest foils, the Leftmedia. “I’m standing up there and instead of a normal question, [reporters convey] anger and hatred. I’ll look at them, I’ll say, ‘What is your problem?’” Trump pointed out how the Leftmedia called him xenophobic when he restricted travel from China only to turn and admit it was the right move. Yet the Leftmedia criticism only continues unabated, so he takes it on directly.Speaking of China, Trump blamed the ChiComs for misleading the world with COVID-19. “I think, personally, they made a horrible mistake,” he said, “and they didn’t want to admit it.” He laid into the World Health Organization as well, calling it a “disaster.” He elaborated, “Everything they’ve said was wrong. And they’re China-centric. They agree with China, whatever China wants to do. So our country, perhaps foolishly in retrospect, has been paying $450 million a year to the World Health Organization. And China’s been paying $38 million a year. … So I’ll have to make a decision on that.”Meanwhile, a payroll tax cut will be a condition for the fourth stimulus package. Trump asserted, “The Democrats want bailouts for the states. But we’ll be doing infrastructure, and … we are not doing anything unless we get a payroll tax cut. That is so important to the success of our country.”Finally, in an obvious campaign pitch to the nation for his reelection, he predicted that 2021 would be “a phenomenal economic year.” Every American should certainly hope so.
