The idiom at-bay is used in several ways. One way it is used is to describe hunted prey (man or beast) that is on the run trying to evade the trained baying hounds being used to track it. The prey is at-bay when it is treed, or when it is cornered and has to turn and defend itself. Either way when it can no longer flee it is at-bay, be it a fox or coon or culprit on the run or in my case a Conservative voter. Conservatives are cornered with nowhere to turn. They are treed, and can’t climb up and can’t climb down. There seems to be nowhere to go.

For the first time in my life, I am faced with a choice about survival. The survival of my country and maybe the survival of my children and grandchildren. Hillary, on the one hand, is completely unacceptable under any circumstances. As one of the Convention speakers and candidate for the Senate said something to the effect: “I will do everything I can to exchange Hillary’s pant suit for the orange jumpsuit she deserves.” As far as I am concerned she should face charges for dereliction of duty and if found guilty should face a military firing squad. She should never ever ever ever be the POTUS and leader of the Free World.

On the other hand I find no demonstrable or trustworthy reason to believe Trump is a better choice. The idea that Hillary must be stopped at all costs is attractive but not so compelling when Trump comes off like a con man that, as inconceivable as it seems, actually might be as bad or worse than Hillary. It feels like a crap shoot and the croupier is using loaded dice. With Hillary the odds are 100 percent against us. With Trump it’s always he wins you lose. Politics in general has become a casino game. The odds favor the casino Progressively winning more than it loses. Career Politicians as the owners and investors in the casino always Progressively win.

I fully understand those who have decided they have no choice but to support Trump just because he is not Hillary. I will remind them that the cross-over voters who voted for Obama just because they thought it was time we had a black president are the ones who put him over the top in his election. The ones I know who voted for Obama pooh-poohed the idea that he could do great damage to the country. They were wrong, Obama has done great damage, and you could be just as wrong about Trump. As Tea Party supporters, our only criteria for who we support should be whether they are Conservative. If our only choice is between two nonConservatives we should not waste our efforts and votes on them, but instead support Conservatives in other branches of government to maintain an opposing balance in the legislative process.

My hope for the Tea Party is that we stop bickering over “not voting for Trump is a vote for Hillary” vs “never Trump.”  When you are at-bay you have no choice but to defend yourself as best you can.  It’s time to put all our Tea Party efforts into electing Conservatives to the House and Senate to create a veto proof majority. On election day I expect each of us to exercise their Constitutional right to vote their Conscience.

When you are forced into a completely untenable position, that is to say, forced to vote for satan or the devil, Pol Pot or Mao Zedong, Hitler or Stalin, for example…then the only recourse for action remaining on an individual’s part is to make a lateral move, a parallel move to the side instead.

You cannot force the will of the people, no more that you can expect them to consume massive amounts of bovine excrement and be told that they have to look like they are enjoying that at the same time.

I have a terrible fear that is growing in my heart and soul, and that is that a second American Revolution is right around the corner.

I believe it is time to elect officials who actually keep their promises to uphold the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, to limit government growth and to be fiscally responsible by not spending more than our GDP every year.

Term limits on Congress, pay and benefits ONLY when a sitting government official is active in service to his or her country and an end to lobbyists are all wonderful areas to start. This would require a citizen oversight committee that is NOT infested with politicians.

I don’t have all of the answers, but I do know that we have reached the fork in the road, the point of no return, where we simply cannot and must not sit idly by and do nothing. This country is in serious jeopardy of becoming a socialist nightmare in the order of the Orwellian account detailed in the book, “1984”.

It’s time to chose, people, and I don’t mean from two similar left-wing liberal progressive democrat candidates from New York. Time is short and we must all do everything in our power to organize our friends and allies and motivate everyone to put pressure on our elected officials via the ballot box, and any other way that is necessary in order to maintain this once great nation.
