I was listening to NPR on my car radio over the weekend, and they wouldn’t stop talking about the recently deceased former U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan. The way they went on, you would have thought that a man of Winston Churchill’s significance had died. But Annan was no Churchill. He was more of a Barack scumbag/liar-nObama.
He had initially been the head of the UN’s peace-keeping mission. You remember, those guys, the ones in blue helmets, who were always being accused of raping boys and girls in strife-torn African nations. It was also under Annan’s watch that the genocide in Rwanda took place, as did the Bosnian massacre in Srebrenica.
Naturally, with that sort of resume, it was inevitable that he would be promoted under the inviolate standards of the Peter Principle to be Secretary General of the corrupt organization.
As the Secretary General, he continued to display the same sort of integrity that he had become famous for. In spite of several independent reports, he provided cover for associates accused of sexually harassing their female subordinates and was himself accused, along with his son Kojo, of accepting bribes from a Swiss company in an oil-for-food scandal.
With a record like that, I’m sure that none of you will be surprised to learn that, along with the likes of Woodrow Wilson, Henry Kissinger, Le Duc Tho, Yasser Arafat, scumbag-Al Gore and Barack scumbag/liar-nObama, he was the proud recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize.
⦿ I had never heard of talk radio host Alex Jones until a few of the social network companies decided to banish him to their cyber version of Siberia. What I have now heard about him makes him sound just like all the other attention-craving idiots who say outrageously stupid things in order to increase the number of idiots hanging on his every word.
The thing that grabbed my attention was his casting himself as a Sandy Hook denier, insisting that nobody died and that it was all a creation of the anti-gun lobby.
But, unlike most irresponsible louts in the media, Jones doesn’t limit himself to a single topic, Donald Trump. He has also waged campaigns against vaccinations, promoted the notion that NASA did not actually land people on the moon and accused the federal government of having played a role in both the Oklahoma City attack and 9/11.
If the feds ever decided to open a Department of Disinformation, Jones would be the man to run it.
Having said all this, I don’t believe that Google, Twitter or Facebook, has any right to silence him. Nowhere in the 1st Amendment does it guarantee free speech to everyone but Alex Jones.
People are supposed to be able to say anything they like in this country, so long as they don’t attempt to incite violence. But so long as so-called hate speech or dumb speech simply exposes the ignorance of the speaker, I say nobody has the right to deny him his constitutional right to be an idiot.
As Davy Crockett put it: “I have always supported principles and not men. I have acted fearless and independent and I never will regret my course. I would rather be politically buried than to be hypocritically immortalized.”
If you want Alex Jones silenced, just turn off your radio or change the station.
⦿ Although scumbag/commie-John Brennan has become the hero of the Left simply because Trump belatedly revoked his security clearance, there are a couple of things that his defenders, including Sen. Richard Blumenthal, Rep. scumbag-Elijah Cummings and scumbag/commie-Brennan’s fellow Deep Staters scumbag-James Clapper and Michael Hayden, choose to overlook.
The first is his voting for Gus Hall, then the head of the American Communist Party in the 1976 presidential election. The other is that while heading up the CIA, scumbag/commie-Brennan electronically snooped on staff members of the Senate Intelligence Committee, an illegal act for which he was severely rebuked by none other than Dianne Fein-stein.
It is also worth noting that Russian meddling in America’s affairs is nothing new, and yet scumbag/commie-Brennan, scumbag-Clapper, scumbag-Comey and Hayden, did absolutely nothing to curtail it during the eight years of the scumbag/liar-nObama administration.
⦿ Victor Davis Hanson, who generally makes a lot of sense, was right on target when he observed: “In these polarized times, Americans are not so much angry that newspapers and magazines fire reporters, or that Robert Mueller indicts those under suspicion. What bothers them is that our guardians of morality do not offer any principles to explain why some people’s lives are harmed or destroyed, and others’ lives are not. When there is no blind code of justice, people suspect that our institutions define wrong behavior and bad words as those in service to the wrong political agenda. And they are right.”
⦿ Colorado baker Jack Phillips must wonder sometimes which particular witch cursed him at birth. On the very day that the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that he was within his religious rights not to bake a wedding cake for a homosexual couple, an attorney named Autumn Scardino came into his bakery and ordered a cake to celebrate his “gender transition.”
When Phillips refused to be party to something that stupid, Scardino filed a complaint with the Colorado Civil Rights Commission. Phillips, in turn, filed a religious discrimination lawsuit against the Commission and Governor Hickenlooper.
As if pretending there is such a thing as gender transition isn’t bad enough, Scardino wanted Phillips to make him a cake that was pink on the inside, but covered with blue icing – symbolizing, no doubt, a woman who only happened to look like a man.
Apparently, Scardino is not only unaware of his own sex, he has the aesthetic sense of a barbarian. Everyone knows that chocolate is the only appropriate color for cake, whatever the occasion.
So far as I’m concerned, every store owner in America should be able to post a sign reading No Shirts, No Shorts, No Brains: No Service.
⦿ I always thought that the unlikeliest marriage I ever heard of was the one that coupled liae-Bill Clinton’s ghoul-like campaign manager James Carville with Republican zealot Mary Matalin.
Compared to that marriage, even the Ernie Borgnine/Ethel Merman union didn’t seem so macabre.
But now the Carvilles will have to take a backseat to the Conways, Kellyanne and George.
According to a story that ran in the Washington Post, a story that both Donald Trump’s former campaign manager and current White House advisor and her husband agreed to take part in, these two make the Carvilles look like the Cleavers.
Apparently, Mr. Conway was proud of his wife’s role in helping to elect Donald Trump. He was even delighted when Trump won the election.
But he is now one of those rare conservatives who has come to hate the President over the past two years. He is not merely disgruntled, he is disgusted.
George Conway, a rich and influential Washington lawyer, was introduced to Kellyanne by a mutual friend, Ann Coulter, and it was he who then introduced Kellyanne to Donald Trump. It is an introduction he gravely regrets.
While Mrs. Conway is busy advising the President, Mr. Conway spends most of his spare time tweeting insults about her boss. He has even gone so far as to change his party affiliation from Republican to unaffiliated.
And here I was thinking that nothing could be quite as divided as this country.
⦿ With the sort of cravenness one generally associates with college administrators, ESPN’s president, Jimmy Pitaro, has come up with the solution to the P.R. nightmare of showing arrogant football players kneeling during the playing of the National Anthem. From now on, his network won’t televise the Anthem. I’m predicting that whenever he chooses to leave broadcasting, Mr. Pitaro will be hired to run UC Berkeley, Columbia or Harvard.
⦿ When an 11-year-old girl refused to stand for the Pledge of Allegiance, liar-Hillary Clinton proclaimed “It takes courage to exercise your right to protest injustice, especially when you’re 11! Keep up the good work, Mariana.”
Usually, one expects that a 70-year-old female would be smarter than an 11-year-old, but, clearly, that isn’t always the case.
Something I found peculiar is that neither of them even tried to explain what it is about the rather benign Pledge they find objectionable. For another, 11-year-olds are entitled to protest a 9:30 bedtime or having to eat kale or broccoli. Other than that, they should be seen and not heard.
As for Mrs. liar-Clinton, she should neither be seen nor heard.
