Watching the hackneyed direction the GOP establishment, the political pundits, the media, and the various candidates have gone in this primary season has been painful, yet predictable to say the least. The best I can say is we have seen the typical side of establishment politics as deja vu all over again.
Let me first say I am a conservative activist and am not for or against any one of the Presidential candidates. That is not what this is about. This is about principles and establishment politics showing it's polished and varnished to shiny gloss ability to remove the American people from the process in a way other than it was intended to be. Giving them little to no relevance in the selection process.
Throughout all of the debates, throughout all of the campaigning there has been one candidate foisted on the public. That candidate is Mitt Romney. Whether he is the right candidate or not remains to be seen. The fact-of-the-matter is, when another candidate makes strides ahead of Romney, that candidate is viciously attacked by all political sides. This factor alone shoes how the forces above unite to separate the American electorate as if we are entering the Twilight Zone of a solipsistic world. Their politically, self-contained world where it is a token "say so" given to the common people for posterities sake.
I have a huge bit or realistic news for them....most of the American voters are not loyal to a Party. Most of the American voters are becoming frustrated with politics as usual and are at the same time, becoming more educated.
How many polls have we seen where the top issues for voters are "jobs", or a variation of this? The economy. The deficit. We have heard debates with every predictable or erratic response the candidates can conjure up. Politicians and the empty media's rendition of mere subjects, not issues. Please! They are testing our intelligence again.
Other than idle pledges, empty promises backed and supported by whose views? Which Presidential candidate has stated not only what they would do, but also how they would accomplish it?
The voters have heard the promises already....over and over. We heard them in 2010 from Congressional and Senatorial candidates and incumbents. We heard how they were going to cut spending. We heard how they were going to put legislation in place to protect and grow our economy. What has happened? The Congress has forfeited their duty to a "Super Committee" on the budget, which turned out to be a "Super Failure". The current President has bypassed the Senate for his appointments and executive orders. The Congress has passed numerous bills to attempt to undo damage caused by the previous Congress, only to be blocked by the Senate. The Merry-Round-House, where they obviously meet in the middle and play ring-around-the-rosy while the American citizens continue to suffer and become meaningless.
The GOP will lose this Presidential election for all the above reasons and because they will continue to make bad choices with the Vice-President nomination. I am already hearing rumors that Mitt Romney has spoken with Meg Whitman for this position, who, regardless of the amount of money poured into her California Governor's race, lost decisively.
When is the GOP going to wake up to the fact that there are just some candidates that can never win no matter how much money they have? For that matter, when are both Party's going to realize this? Money does not mean success in politics today. It may have been true in the past, but the electorate is awake, educated, and uninterested in the overused re-runs.
No matter what Party the people belong to, they are not willing to stand idly or silently by while the powers that be decide what candidate is best for them. Nor are they willing to stand by while the Party foists candidates upon them that have instituted policies not consistent with our values, heritage, and traditions. No more taking away the precious freedoms from our hands and giving them to greedy politicians who think they are above the natural law or "We The People".
The GOP will go down faster than the Olympic Schuss if they don't wake up and wise up!
Note to the Political Party's: Do you remember this? The Tea Party Movement Has Changed Everything

Sorry, I cannot agree. at least 80% of the voters are PARTY Loyal voters. Just pay attention to the polls and you will see that approximately 40% will vote Dumbocrap and 40% Republocrat.
The other 20% are split between non voters and waiting for God to tell them how to vote and still another group that will vote based on what they believe is best for their pocketbooks.
The Dumbocraps have the welfare, food stamp, free school lunch, student loan, paid abortions, government health care, pro same sex marriages, pro social security disability payments, Pro illegal immigration, pro activist judges, pro government employee unions, pseudo intellectuals, the homeless, occupy whatever people and a more. So if your point is the Republicans are doomed the I agree, but not for the reasons you stated.
It's due to the greedy, ignorant, gullible voters.
Comment by Barry Gabrielson on February 8, 2012 at 12:39pm Dara. here in our State of California, waste, fraud and abuse goes not daily. State government does not care about controlling out of the control spending. They create budgets for departments, then each departments overspends this budget, nothing happens to this department manager. In the next year, that same department manager gets a higher budget, overspend intentionally, not accountable to justify expenditures, then the following year gets a raise to their own budget. I have witnessed this in government for over 30 years. NO ONE CARES ABOUT STOPING WASTE, FRAUD, AND ABUSE IN GOVERMENT AND FOR COMPANIES THAT DO BUSINESS FOR THE GOVERMENT. Waste of taxdollars is accpeted by We the People. Those reponsible to control costs are not accountable to control cost. So they continue to waste our money on personal items, keep their jobs, gain promotitions. Raises costs and services to the Governments makes more profits. So why not create waste and fraud to gain more profits for the Corporation. Its only tax dollars that are waste. taxpayers dont care, many who dont pay taxes at all. Those who do pay taxes dont hold the government accountable for WFA. So governments waste money, borrow more money, waste more, gain higher debts, then raise taxes, waste more money, create bonds to borrow more money, require homeowners to pay more money for schools since this is mismanaged, etc. The taxpayer says "You need more money for schools. Where do I write the check". Not a sole cares that this money is wasted, that no one is accountable to control out of control and not justified waste of tax dollars. NO ONE CARES to stop wasting taxdollars for support services. No one Government is accountable.
Comment by Dara on February 8, 2012 at 12:27pm No disrespect meant to anyone here :)
Comment by Dara on February 8, 2012 at 12:26pm You are so very right Barry. I agree. We need to make the government more accountable and it is only by unification of efforts that we do so. This country was founded because the citizens, the churches, and the landowners(business owners) united behind the effort to resist a tyrannical government. I can tell you, even in liberal CA, that is happening. Now if we could just get everyone taking some kind of action besides venting on websites.
Comment by Barry Gabrielson on February 8, 2012 at 11:54am We need to have a real conversation about uniting around one candidate in the Republican Party. The Moderates in the Party want Romney, would hate to vote for a Conservative who is to far right like Santorum. Conservatives who are far right will have a real hard time voting for a moderate Romney, who is more like a blue dog Democrat. They also dont like his religion, to be honest and dont like Romneycare.
Each side would not be excited on the others candidate. This is where we have a major problem. If we cant get the base excited about one candidate, the Fraud in the Oval Offices wins. We must be united in getting rid of this Marxist, Communist, Socialism narcissistic Con Man in the White House to save this country. I will vote for any Rep over this Fraud, get behind any candidate in 2012. We should be focusing our efforts at taking over the Senate in 2012, getting rid of Dirty Harry at all costs. We need a sweep in 2012 to save this country.
In 2016, we need to get a moral and ethical man in the White House, one with integrity and virture. This person will really force this Government to be efficient, remove Waste, Fraud and Abuse, and make allow Capitalism to win. IMHO in 2012, I dont trust either party has an interest Government accountable to We the People. Being inefficient and unaccountable is ok to each party. Radical changes wont take place based on who gets elected.
Cutting trillions in waste and fraud is not an important issue to either the current President or Congress. These are just sound bites to Candidates, who really dont care about having a competent Government. They care about getting elected and staying in power, that is all. Fixing Government is really not a priority. Its about going along to get along, compromise and tolerance to big debt, out of control spending. duplications in government, waste and fraud. Whatever cost jobs, look the other way, ignore it on both sides. Start protecting people in government who want Waste and Fraud stopped to save taxpayers money. Stop Protecting leaders in Companies who work for the government who commit daily Fraud, in the trillions so that we need to increase the debt to cover more waste.
Reward incompetence and waste is this governments way, neither party cares to stop this, prevent this from happening. If we make government efficient, tax rates go down, companies product cost goes down, less taxes required for support services, more money in peoples pockets to spend, raising more money for more support services. Yet not one candidates wants accountability or consequences in government, wants the status Quo, go along to get along. Our government is incompetent and out of control, yet not one candidate will put an end to it. Tolerance and Compromise is the tone, not radical changes to make goverment accountable to We the People. Garbage in, garbage out.
Comment by Kathy Hamm on February 8, 2012 at 10:23am Thumbs up for Santorum! We need to stand together. It may be time to support Santorum. We must unite!
Comment by Dara on February 8, 2012 at 10:18am Thank you to all those who have posted recently and are realizing what this article is about. David S, thank you very much for your post. You mentioned in my blog I said I was not for or against any candidate, that is correct. Let me clarify. I am not for or against any candidate at this point simply because I have not made up my mind. There are some issues with most of the candidates that I, personally, do not like. I am still in process of deciding who I would want to vote for. You did seem to understand what I am saying. You are precisely correct that we need to stand together and let the Party know we are not willing to let them put through another weak candidate.
Someone else mentioned we need to focus on the Congress, Senate, State, and local races. I would agree in many, many ways. You are correct, but also understand that what we are seeing played out on the national stage with the Presidential election, is also being played out at the lower levels. As a member of an organization that utilizes citizen led vetting and endorsement based upon Constitutional principles, you would be very surprised how many times we get attacked by the GOP establishment. Yet, some of the 2010 endorsed Representatives are Sen. Mike Lee, Congressman Justin Amash, Senator Jim DeMint, etc. These are the ones the Progressives would like to see go away. It is at all levels, both Dem and Rep voters need to make their voices heard and in unity.
Comment by Carl Glass on February 8, 2012 at 10:13am Wow! Rick Santorum pulls an upset. This is a good thing.
Comment by Caleb White on February 8, 2012 at 9:37am Check this out everybody. This is why the GOP will lose another election...because they fail to get behind real change and strength. http://www.newt.org/news/video-newt-wows-packed-crowd-price-hill-ch...
One Candidate stands out. No one knows our American History, the Constitution, every in & out in Congress, how it works, how to MAKE it work, better than Newt Gingrich. He is not afraid to stand up to the news media and every Republican in DC. They (including obama & the Democrat Party) are scared to death he will change all of their power back to the people where it belongs. That is why the Republican Party is not supporting him. I am 83 years old and I have seen what future visions can accomplish.
