I have searched the Hood high and low looking for its super villains. This search has yielded a Rogues Gallery of colorful characters, most of whom are themselves Hood residents.
The White Boogeyman has yet to cross my path.

Comment by Frank Chance Chenoweth on March 6, 2013 at 7:25am To paraphrase Cameron in Ferris Buehler's Day Off, "Cap Black, you're my hero!" Your message is awesome and really hits that proverbial nail on the head. I know people who continue to vote for Democrats and clowns like Sharpton and Obama no matter what. Black unemployment could be 75% nationally, and I still think they would do it . . . ! I think they are totally blinded by the race thing. I'll really be interested to see how much they support Hillary or whomever in 2016. I wonder if they would support an un-Consitutional Obama third run or, worse, an executive order or fiat or martial law making him dictator, President-for-Life, whatever. Keep up the good work, Cap Black!

If truth be not diffused, error will be; If God and His Word are not known and received, the devil and his works will gain the ascendancy, If the evangelical volume does not reach every hamlet, the pages of a corrupt and licentious literature will; If the power of the Gospel is not felt throughout the length and breadth of the land, anarchy and misrule, degradation and misery, corruption and darkness will reign without mitigation or end."

Comment by Dwight M. Schmitz on March 5, 2013 at 4:57pm Simple decency, common courtesy and simple respect have become the exception, not the rule. We were raised (and we tried to raise our own children this way, to much success I'm happy to say) that simple almost effortless gestures go a long way towards civility. Please, thank you, a decent handshake, etc. are easy, small gestures that show decency and respect towards another person and are noticed and appreciated. Now our children are being taught to demand respect (rather than earn it) and that they're the center of the universe ("it's all about me"). They're being taught that just because they exist, they have the "right" to be respected, regardless of how disrespectful they are to anyone else. Decency toward them is almost obligatory, yet decency from them is almost unheard of. This attitude comes from schools and parents. Yet if a parent dares to engage in any form of corporal punishment or any form of admonishment of the child, the child is taught to go running to the school system and they see to it that the parent is investigated for "potential abuse." Been there, that's when we pulled our children out of the public school system at a young age and we have never looked back.

Comment by Jim Coles on March 5, 2013 at 1:22pm The race hustlers and Progressives have deliberately broken relations among the races that were once -- not all that long ago -- beginning to mend.
Their motives seem obvious to me:
-- immediate acquisition of wealth, power & prestige for themselves
-- advancing the Progressive agenda to eventually pull everyone onto the Liberal plantation ... the new and pernicious slavery.
-- and possibly, fomenting race war so the Progressive 'Presidium' can declare some sort of state of emergency, seize power, dump the Constitution, and come after any and all who resist.
Both the race hustlers and the Progressives they support are among the most cynical and despicable creatures to ever walk upright on this planet.
I recall some 30-35 years ago, seeing a news story on TV, about a bunch of neighborhood fathers and big brothers, arming themselves with baseball bats to run prostitutes and drug dealers off of their neighborhood street corners. These men were mostly black with some hispanics mixed in who lived in an "inner city", though I can't remember where. They all had kids who they didn't want exposed to this sort of criminal activity and had gotten fed up with its presence.
Apparently they were successful in driving much of the criminal activity out of their neighborhoods and were able to keep it out by taking turns patroling the streets, armed with their Louisville Sluggers. I don't know how long they kept this up.
This, in my opinion is what it's going to take to clean up the violence and other crimina activity in the inner cites. Participation by those that live in the inner city (or anywhere else), in this endeavor, is a must.
Comment by Dawn Pizzo on March 5, 2013 at 12:32pm If we believe that this is going to end in anything other than violence and bloodshed, we are deluding ourselves. These problems do not just go away by voting people in or out of office. You cannot stop evil from creeping into the heart by giving the heart what it desires. Especially if what it desires is evil. Lewdness, promiscuity, disrespect, feelings of entitlement. We need to grab our kids by their hair, throw them in their bedrooms, hide their electronic gadgetry and tell them that they aren't coming out until they come up with a list of chores they can do while getting paid and then paying us back with the money they made for all the electronic crap that we've bought them. That is how *** really works. That is how you raise responsible kids. You teach them that NOTHING is free in this world. That may seem a bit unpopular but who cares. You see the way stuff is playing out now?
