When Knuckleheads Outnumber Knights

As the founder of American History Month, a conservative alternative to Black ( Liberal ) History Month, here's a view on inner city crime you won't hear from Obama; Al Sharpton; the NAACP nor the Congressional Black ( Liberal ) Caucus.

The Ghetto is my version of Ronald Reagan's " Evil Empire. " Its epic dysfunction stands athwart gains made during the Civil Rights Era and the future.

Like the British Prime minister who promised " Peace In Our Times, " with Adolf Hitler, Black America's liberal leaders seek co-existence with vulgar, violent vandals proudly calling themselves, " niggas;" "goons" and even worse if you can believe it.

" Knuckhle head " is a racially neutral, though accurate descriptive for such mass ignorance.

Until American Blacks are finally ready to protest; shove; tase and even shoot this threat into submission, we can expect worse.

As more murder; and more offensive behavior and music assault Black culture, my question remains, " Hero or hostage in the Hood- choose?"

Slowly, Black men of good will are counter-attacking against thugs I routinely call, " chocolate Klansmen. "

Iconoclasts like Seattle's costumed " live action superhero " Phoenix Jones and Atlanta's tactical strip mall manager whose You Tube channel is called " Kick Ass Mall Cop, " inspire people globally.

They occupy civic space similar to civil rights legends who faced great odds without backing down.

Groups like the Detroit 300 united mostly Black male stakeholders in a long over mobilization of men closest to this problem.

The murder of one of their members disbanded this heroic effort.

Fortunately, decades old predecessors like Concerned Black Men and Mad Dads still take to inner city streets, patrolling and offering much needed mentoring/mediation programs.

Some brothers get it.

Blaming White Republicans while looking the other way over daily disorder and murder rates is cowardly.

My American History Month statement on inner city crime calls for more knights to culturally displace knuckle heads who call themselves, " niggas " and worse.

Black men aren't America's only criminals, but Black male criminals are the civil rights issue of my generation.

MLK and Malcolm X are toneless to these young men doing a year or 2 or 3 usually, waiting to leave for the bigger, older joints up north, and leaving behind their last vestiges of juvenile age here in my classroom. To some suddenly, a GED looks good, but to many the streets lure them back like a Siren's song they and only they can hear through these prison walls. They brag about the 'bitches' they screwed, and the babi-mamas they floated with 'kidds' and they're quick to spot and harass a 'cornball' and if someone is rumored to have dissed them on the inside in another cell, they'll start a mental-waging, ego-wagging, built-up threat to kick that guy's ass first chance they get, so that I have to react without their knowing. it. I see black, hispanis, white from the inside of walls they can't leave for years, and they almost NEVER hate the streets of drugs and lies they've got from their warped concepts of survival by doing 'lines of hatred' and forging 'acts of cruelty', both of which they can't even see themselves committing. Even the women, they reject, are becoming meaner in their shady stories.

I have to say the black liberal leaders and the social workers feeding these boys like horsemeat to piranas have accomplished few knights and relished having these men as simple 'pawns'. When anyone of them calls me a racist being white I know they are hating the white man's laws they tried to beat like Sharpton and Jackson and others have, and that they hate them from inside the concertina wire fences more than they hate me who at least let's them have a commissary candy while they do my math problems, some really trying to learn in prison what black schools in the cities could not do with them, usually because the 'knightship of dealing-robbing-smashing heads and other trades' along with the music&guns they love lured more of them than the few loyal and straight mothers and grandmothers could. Almost none of my black students ever talk about their fathers -nearly zero. These white,black, hispanic youth do talk about dads and uncles in prison, or who have had a long history in or out, with pride or at least a bit of respect. Making money is their real 'father', they say over and over, always bragging like the addicts of crime they were when lured to commit crimes, and as passionate some remain entranced with bigger (bragging) victories when they get out, TS, foaming with ideas some do imagine inside the walls and fine wired fences. Plenty of room for concerned black adult men to visit them if they're 'in the visiting rooster' but few have any visiters at all, except for an occasional lawyer notifying one or another of a fresh warrant, or a continuance, a delay...All these men have lived lives-in-utter delay literally in a standoff with the shadow of something 'they might become' (a few attempt it) by some miracle without the music&guns&rap. Unless you reach them while they're in prison, the adult concerned males will not want to see or look for them should they return to the streets. Their blood 'cooks and simmers' there. Many will kill any 'helper' for a 'take', a gun, some money, for no reason, so concerned black adult men I see don't ever visit us inside the walls, unless a few have the great courage to teach them inside the wired walls. That's where the learning begins for these young men, and I've seen it work and not work for many years, and not being black seen it objectively and subjectively.

It takes people grasping the fact that "we" are the only people who can effect real change in these instances - not police, not govt., not new laws - but brave men and women living with the problems and wanting to do something about them and joining together to do so. God bless those who do.

It's time for We The People to stand together. If we all would unit together as a community and form our local watch groups to patrol our own neighborhoods. We have to do this because the Police and Sheriff Departments are having to cut back due budget cuts which means less strength on the streets. My heart bleed when there is a young childs life has been take and I don't care about its color that child is a child of God. We need to Love Thy Neighbor.
