Many Americans are very active in the political process; each in their own way. Sadly, many Americans have lost hope and have withdrawn from the political process entirely. Far too many simply do not bother to vote because they feel that their vote carries no weight; they could not be more wrong. I would like to point out a recent election in Nye County Nevada. One single vote could have decided that election. But that one vote was not there and the election was reached via a deck of cards. Now how “Vegas” is that? Somewhere between the American Revolution and contemporary politics Americans have lost the realization of who holds the true power in this nation.
Allow me to remind us all:
The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.
For those who do not recognize the above citation, it is the Tenth Amendment to The Constitution of The United States of America.
The governance of this nation has progressed from a part time job for successful businessmen to a full time industry that rivals the entire Fortune 500 companies in scope and operational costs; costs that are being paid by We The People.
Next month (September 2013) the good people of Colorado will be holding recall elections to remove two Democrats who pushed Bloomberg gun control laws through to the governor. Rules for recall elections differ from place to place and recall elections can be an effective tool, but they are never pleasant; been there done that. Many years ago I launched the first successful recall elections in a large county of southern California. We The People took down the entire city council and the mayor. And many paid a great price for that effort. Given that the mayor was THE major customer for my company, I got unemployed. Others incurred significant legal costs defending themselves against B.S. law suits supported by less than honorable judges. And one voice of reason in local media went to prison on trumped up charges.
Following the 2010 mid-term elections there were rumblings of starting a “Third Party”. The time happened to (generally coincide with the rise of the Tea Party. American pride swelled. A sense of power ebbed into the American “grass roots” like a spring rain after a severe drought. And what sprang forth was crab grass.
During the rise of the Tea Party movement there were numerous Tea Party groups here in lovely Las Vegas and I managed to attend as many of their meetings as I could manage. Most, if not all but one, have long since evaporated. Like a houseplant they died of either too small a pot - i.e.: exclusivity of membership and ideas or over watering - i.e. massive overdoses of the conservative rant without sunshine - i.e.: something to reach for.
I have watched numerous organizations form up only to dissipate in a very short time; like a boiling caldron. And what is the single major cause for the dissipation / dissolution of these groups? Big Egos - with a Lack of Focus not far behind.
I recall receiving an email from the “leader” of a local (would be) Tea Party group here in the Las Vegas Valley asserting that the group was “The Best Tea Party in Las Vegas”. I responded with a question as to what made this group “The Best” in Las Vegas and why should I consider joining them. The response I received to my question was basically (and yes I am paraphrasing) “If you have the audacity to ask then you do not belong with our group.” I chose to look elsewhere and have been an active member of the Las Vegas Valley Tea Party (LVVTP) ever since.
And what became of the “If you dare to ask you need to get lost” group?
Well, there is no group surrounding that massive and totally unsupportable Ego at its center. But sadly, that ego has since moved from group to group, alienating people as they travel about; sort of like a “Typhoid Mary” of the Tea Party movement. At last report that ego has joined a kindred spirit at the Clark County Republican Party (CCRP). And all of us know people of that sort. And they turn us off and turn us away because their ego and self image comes first and foremost; even at the cost of our once great nation.
Having lived in about two dozen countries all around this world it has long been my opinion based on observations that all people are pretty much the same regardless of nationality or religion or sociological leanings. In Vietnam it was generally accepted that the people in the villages supported the allied forces during the day and the Viet Cong after the sun set. And it was true. The people of Vietnam did not concern themselves with form of governance was filling the diaper politic so long as they were allowed to from the land and raise their families. What they wanted was: Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.
God created two types of people: Leaders and Followers. This nation was founded by “leaders” and NO I am not referring exclusively to our “Founding Fathers”. I am referring to the countless people from every strata of many countries whose deep seeded need for freedom overshadowed any concerns about the physical or economic welfare of themselves and their families.
...with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor.
We The People have been brainwashed to believe that our elected officials are smarter and wiser than are we and that they have a greater vision as to what is best for us. My good friend and neighbor, The Big Democrat, assures me that this is the case; even in full view of everything to the contrary., We have looked to our elected officials to lead us out of the quagmire in which we find ourselves and they continue to bury us deeper.
As our frustration and in some cases our resignation to the inevitable the rumbles for the creation of a Third Party grows.
It is time for ALL Americans to once again realize who holds the power: We The People.
Shortly after the 2012 election I posted an article: Four Pillars of Freedom. I invite readers to revisit that post. Sit down and have a serious heart-to-heart conversation with yourself. Get your priorities lined up - make a list if necessary so that you can see with your own eyes what you think is important to you personally.
If “Life, Liberty, and The Pursuit of Happiness” are not at the top of your list then may I suggest that you join the “Democratic” (Socialist/Communist) party and the current regime that is committed to tearing this nation down once and for all.
But if by chance your goals and values take you in a different direction - the direction and path that was set before us by those brave souls who gave us this nation, then may I suggest that we all quit “bitching” and start a serious defense of this nation.
Forming an official third party is a fool’s errand for which we simply do not have the time or resources. If we count our available manpower as ammunition(1 man-hour = one round of ammo) in a critical battle then we are massively out-gunned. We can expend our resources filling in forms, filing for government recognition, and on and on and on only to replicate what we are now dealing with: an authoritative hierarchy that does not represent our values.
We The People ARE The Third Party. It is up to US to turn the tide and we cannot do that if we spend our time, energy, and meager resources attacking each other.
There are three major fronts that must be reinforced to defend this nation.
Align yourself with people who share your vision and are able to limit their objectives to reasserting the Constitution as written and the principles and values that gave birth to this once great nation.
Attend meetings to keep yourself informed and take action.
Attend rallies and demonstrations because body count matters.
Build a defensive perimeter around our children. By this I mean we must move heaven and earth to replace the liberal regime that controls our local schools with patriots with an ultimate goal of shutting down the federal Department of (mis)Education (indoctrination).
