“The Comeback Team: Romney and Ryan”

Mitt Romney just announced his choice for Vice-President -- Congressman Paul Ryan (age 42).
Ryan grew up in Janesville, Wisconsin, and is serving his 7th term in the U. S. House (since 1999). He is Catholic, pro-family, and pro-sanctity of every life.
When he was 16, Paul found that his father (a lawyer) had died in his sleep from a heart attack. Saving up his Social Security benefits, Paul was able to go to Miami University in Ohio and in 1992, earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and political science.
Paul Ryan met Janna Little (from Oklahoma) when she was a tax attorney in Arlington, Virginia. They married in 2000 and have three young children – Liza, Charlie, and Sam.
Paul Ryan loves to hunt, fish, bow-hunt, listens to music on his iPod, and either sleeps in his Capitol office or at his sister-in-law’s house in Bethesda, Maryland, when Congress is in session.
Ryan worked for Jack Kemp (who died in 2009); Paul Ryan has stated that Jack Kemp was his mentor and taught him economics.
Ryan is the Chair of the House Budget Committee and is a Senior Member of the House Ways and Means Committee. He is said to be the most influential GOP policymaker.
Ryan is the author of “The Path to Prosperity” (http://paulryan.house.gov/issues/issue/?IssueID=56750 ) which is a detailed plan to tackle our country’s crushing debt by helping to spur job creation and stop spending money that our government simply does not have.
Ryan knows that Medicare is to go broke by 2016. His plan guarantees that all seniors 55 and older will see no Medicare changes. However, the Romney/Ryan Plan will save Medicare for those 55 and younger by letting them invest their own money for the future.
While Paul Ryan was giving his speech this morning, I copied down as best I could some of his statements:
There are those in Washington, D. C. who are more worried about not getting elected than they are about the next generation.
The USA is facing debt, doubt, and despair.
Our crushing debt is not a new normal and is the result of misguided policies.
Mitt and I stand for economic growth, job creation, and fiscal stability.
“If you have a small business, you did build that!”
Mitt has launched new businesses, saved Staples, Bright Horizons, and Sports Authority (to name a few) and made the Olympics the pride of our nation.
Mitt has achievement, excellence, and integrity.
Jana and I have three children Jana (Eliza, Charles, Sam). We have taught them that if we work hard and play by the rules, we can get ahead. We look with pride on one another’s successes instead of feeling resentment.
As more people work, they benefit all the people around them.
America is not a place; it is an idea. It is the only country founded on an idea: Our rights come from Nature and God – not from government.
Mitt Romney and I promise equal opportunity, not equal outcomes.
We won’t replace our country’s Founding principles but will reapply them.
We won’t blame others but will take responsibility.
We can turn this country around with real solutions. America can be delivered from our crises, but it will take leadership and the courage to tell you the people the truth. Romney is that kind of a leader. We are America’s “Comeback Team.”
Comments from Donna Garner: Our Texas Congressman from HD 17 is Bill Flores who is the oldest of six children and grew up in the Panhandle of Texas. At age 10 he had a paper route; and by 13 he was working 12 hours a day, 6 days a week, driving a tractor, building fences, and working cattle. He worked his way through Texas A&M, earned his MBA, and slowly-but-surely built oil and gas companies, met payroll, and created hundreds of jobs for other people. Bill and Gina have been married for thirty-three years and have used their means to provide countless scholarships to students of all ages.
I say all of this to give credibility to what Bill Flores told me about Paul Ryan. Bill Flores retired from a successful career in the private sector to go to Congress to help restore America’s future for coming generations. Bill has been serving on the House Budget Committee with Paul Ryan.
Bill Flores told me last year that Paul Ryan is the most brilliant economist he has ever known and that there is no one in this country who knows more about America’s budget and economic status than does Paul Ryan.
We are simply thrilled with Mitt Romney’s choice for VP.
Just think: Here America is on the cusp of going over the financial cliff because of Obama’s ideologically driven agenda, and we now have the Comeback Team of Romney/Ryan who have the background and expertise to deliver our nation from certain chaos.
Now all that we as patriotic Americans have to do is to do our part to elect the Comeback Team – Romney/Ryan.
