As a new member, I can not seem to find any statement of principle regarding support of life on this site. The other stated principles I am 100% for, but there seems to be an omission on the issue of life. I believe that this major flaw in the libertarian movement has marginalized it for years (along with isolationism and drug legalization), but I wonder if the tea party movement is ambivalent on the life issue or libertarian influences prevent it from a clear embrace of pro life as a core principle. If it can not clearly embrace life, my experience informs me that it has little hope of going beyond the limited long term appeal of libertarianism. If I just missed it, tell me where to find pro life support specifically and prominently stated. God Bless.

Well, it might be fine for some, but not for me. I'll support and closely associate only with folks who are 100% for life. It is the ultimate freedom, the freedom to be born and then to live in pursuit of your God given purpose. So freedom is a "social" issue and you need to mark freedom off your list of principles as part of truth in advertising. Any slight of hand regarding it being a "state issue" ignors reality, it was a constitutional and a national issue as of 1972, to the peril of the most basic constitutrional principle that the power of the national government derives from the people. So the holocaust within our nation is both an issue of freedom and the constitution. Mark constitutional issues off as well. Empty rehetoric. Being unified and logically inconsistent is meaningless and common sense folks will see right through that. Where tea party folks and folks like me can agree we will support each other, but I'll never trust anyone with my life or my freedom who excludes unequivical support for the ultimate God given right in order to avoid dispute. Does this remind anyone, other than me, of the compromise regarding slavery in the name of unity during our founding? The curse of that "unity" is still visited on us to this day. Do you really think you can just decide it's too hard and it will go away? LOL If you can not stand dead on top of the moral high ground, you are likely destined to be a side show and a foot note. I'll be watching as an interested spectator to see where this futility leads. I had great hope this was more than just personal peace and affluence through limited government. You might want to ask yourself how many of the more than 50% of the country who self describe themselves as pro life are you going to loose or fail to attract because you are worried about including a few pro abortionists who can not figure out it's murder of a defenseless innocent. How many of those would be on the same side as you regarding the other general values you list? I got my answer. Later.

Let's try this one, for an answer:
We agree on fiscal responsibility, lower taxes, smaller government, personal freedom, constitutional issues.
And that's about enough for now.
After a year of butting heads, we've mostly learned to stay away from potentially divisive issues.
We are for unity!
How's that?

Linda W, the supreme court declared abortion is one of those God given Individual Freedoms, I do not believe that and consider it an endorsement of state sponsored genicide. You didn't answer my question. I read the home page statement you restated for my benefit. It does not answer the mail. Some would support that statement, including the supreme court's misapplication of the first amendment. That is why I asked.

Perhaps you failed to read the FAQ, which states:

Tea Party Nation is a group of like-minded individuals who believe in our God given Individual Freedoms written out by the Founding Fathers. We believe in Limited Government, Free Speech, the Second Amendment, our Military, Secure Borders and our Country!

Do you embrace these beliefs?
