Republicans: “Let it Be.”
Conservatives are always asking what they can do to win the next Presidency? They ask themselves what they did wrong. They think there is an answer. They think that they went too much to the right or to the center. If they only just change their strategy they will win the next election.
Not so. There is nothing to point their fingers at. Accept temporary failure. Things happen. Let it flow. Or as Paul McCartney says, “Let it be.”
When I was young and went out looking for girls I never succeeded if I was too anxious. If I just ignored them, they somehow came to me. You can’t hurry love. You can’t force politics. Well, you can if you’re Obama. Myths become dictatorial.
Preplanning a victory is pinching freedom so that claustrophobia sets in instead of freedom. Morals become squeezed; winning becomes cut off at the inception. You can’t force a win. You can only seduce it. It comes by making daily decisions that seem open-minded and loving. In the Democrat’s case it comes by pretending that you are not prejudiced and that you will nursemaid your constituency while pretending to keep your country strong.
Obama has redefined humanism as dishonesty. He has twisted love into narcissism. We are votes; he is self-aggrandizement.
Why does everyone keep asking why Romney lost the election? Stuff happens. We did nothing wrong. Obama was magic to fools, candy to a sweet tooth. He was a virus that infected the electorate with self-destruction. Politically stupid people saw him as a rock and roll God. Would you vote for Mick Jagger or Mitt Romney? Well, Mick Obama won.
Even though Mick let the murders happen in Altamont and allowed violence into the peace movement, he is still performing at sixty-nine. Obama won a second election even though he shovel-readied our men to death by neglect at Benghazi. He let cuckolded-housewife, Alinsky- radical, precursor-to- Obamacare, Hilary Clinton mishandle a terrorist situation, calling it a demonstration.
Chalk it up to rock and roll. Jagger and Obama have “Sympathy for the Devil.” Obama wants affirmative action for everyone from illegal aliens to women. And the women throw their thongs at them. And the minorities think he is their friend even though they have never done worse economically under him than any other president.
And the GOP thinks they can come up with a plan to beat Obama and his groupies. They caucus about what they did wrong at the last election.
I say, don’t figure it out. You can’t. The country voted for a left-wing weakling who ruined the economy, sabotaged our military and never even bothered to come up with his legal obligation to set a budget.
There is no logic to self-destruction. It is putting on the suicide belt of voting for the wrong candidate.
Forget about it. Stupid is stupid. Next time things will be different not because we are so smart that we can figure it out but because change happens. The Republicans should quit kicking themselves in the butt.
They should not move further to the left, the center or the right. Let the natural candidate find his place and we will know him not by what we have planned but by his magnetism. Our new candidate may do everything wrong but we will love him like the Democrats loved Obama, like a husband loves a wife with whom he has nothing in common.
You can’t preplan an earthquake. Things happen. Our next candidate will happen. Mitt Romney was the right candidate at the time. But no one could have beaten Obama. Classical music plays to small audiences at Lincoln Center whereas rock and roll fills up arenas. Obama struts his stuff and the druggies dance in the field. It is Woodstock again. We have learned nothing. But hopefully there will be a reaction and Obama’s liberalism will lie fallow in a field in Bethel New York as a dried out philosophy for the next twenty years.

Comment by Ellen Purcell on February 8, 2013 at 12:53pm Ron or Rand have great excitement, but only of a small minority. If Rand is nominated, the few will be thrilled and Hell-ary will be in the White House
