Recently in American Thinker, Michael Filozof described the new New York gun law, the "SAFE" Act as a Rape of the Second Amendment. In his conclusion he stated:

The SAFE Act must be resisted on all levels. I urge firearm manufacturers, like Remington and Kimber, to leave New York State as soon as possible and stop paying taxes to a government that seeks to suppress the right to own their products.

Well, someone is listening to Mr. Filozof - or coming up with the idea on their own.

ILION —
At least five states have contacted the parent company of Remington Arms to encourage the gun manufacturer to relocate in response to New York’s new, tougher gun control laws.
Lawmakers from Michigan, South Carolina, Arizona and Oklahoma have all sent letters to Remington’s owner, Freedom Group, since the state Legislature passed tougher gun control legislation two weeks ago. Texas first contacted the company in November 2012.
“When you hear news like this it does raise a high level of concern because of what the other states could potentially offer, but at the same time we have reached out to Remington and Freedom Group to let them know we support them and that we will continue to support them,” Herkimer County (New York) Industrial Development Agency Executive Director Mark Feane said during a telephone interview Thursday afternoon.

Of course, New York can afford the loss of jobs because they are making so much money from fracking oil. Err...wait. The Governor has yet to make a decision on allowing that, so there is no tax revenue and jobs coming from that. Well, at least the Dodgers haven't left Brooklyn. Wait! This just in...

I do know that formal Criminal Charges were filed, and no one in State government who are responsible for resolving crimes has taken action, period. A few "me dum dum responses" are about the norm for Florida Government.
As far as OBOZO goes, the Governor could have stopped OBOZO long before the election occurred had he wanted to do so based on crimes to date in August of 2012 by OBOZO.
The good news is, "All governors are as complicit with OBOZO as Rick Scott".
Comment by Jack Kemp on February 10, 2013 at 9:37am Jeff, and that includes this New Yorker, myself, urging Remington to leave. I may either join Remington in another state or stay and enjoy New York Democrat politicians being humbled.

Comment by American Infidel on February 10, 2013 at 9:29am Billy, I am already happily and proudly living in Florida. Maybe you should look at my public profile before commenting and trying to make me sound hypocritical? You are wrong about Bondi. You should read the NRA's support of Bondi in the recent misunderstanding. A private concealed-carry group in Florida was going after her based on wrong information; they have since retracted their charges against her. Our Governor Scott is one of the strongest opponents of Obama. He is one of the last Republican holdouts against expanding Medicaid under ObamaCare; most other Republican Governors have caved; and he may have to do so soon, also. To be honest, I won't fault him if he does; because if I were a Floridian who qualified for Medicaid, I would certainly rather have to deal with only my state than deal with the Feds; that is for sure, and it's going to one or the other. We fought ObamaCare and lost. No one is sadder about that than me; other than perhaps our Governor Rick Scott. He is the saddest of all. He fought long and hard against it. He has always been an outspoken opponent of Obama. As for the recent voter fraud in St. Lucie County, yes, Scott should have spoken out more strongly. There is so much there in that situation that has yet to be uncovered. Allen West did his best to fight it, and in the end even he decided to fold. As far as I know, he ran out of money and the will to fight it. I hope the lawsuit by True The Vote gets to the bottom of it. Anyone wanting to help out in that effort should donate to True The Vote.
Comment by Jeff Waller on February 10, 2013 at 8:57am Not one New Yorker here begging Remington to stay!
This is VERY telling about their mindset...
Comment by Robert Robbins on February 9, 2013 at 8:50am Yes I support their move and I would suggest more companies follow suit if this attack on our 2nd amendment rights continues and if it affects any business, then yes they should not be paying taxes to states and people that do not support our constitutional rights!
Comment by Billy Bowlegs on February 8, 2013 at 8:03pm American Infidel,
Since you state that Florida is business-friendly Republican legislature and Governor, move there.
If that is true, why has the Governor and AGO not undertaken to stop OBOZO because of the 147% voter history in one county. Also, Bondi has indicates support of gun control legislation.
Criminal Control is the biggest issue this country faces. - And, the criminals are in the White House with Governors from most states supporting the Criminals.
Comment by Eddie R. Welch on February 8, 2013 at 5:52pm Alabama needs manufacturing jobs badly. We'll proudly support Remington here, or any other firearms manufacturer !!!
Most anywhere west of the Smokies and east of the Rockies would do, with the exception of Illinois
Comment by Billy Bowlegs on February 8, 2013 at 5:25pm I say that Remington should break up the Remington manufacturing business to smaller plants and locate them in many states (Montana being one with their "get you damned hands off our guns" laws).
Tell New York and OBOZO to shove it.
