Obama Must Go..!!!

This is something that I have been thinking about for a while now. It started as a thought that comes from a statement that was uttered by a Tea Party favorite from south Florida, namely, Allen West. When asked about his eventual support and subsequent affirmative vote for a debt ceiling bill that quite literally didn’t pass the smell test because…..IT STUNK..!!

Allen West stated that he ended up supporting the debt ceiling increase because;

“It takes five miles to stop an aircraft carrier”..!!

At first blush, this was simply another one of the “Washington-speak” statements that we have all become accustomed to hearing from our elected officials. However, I have worked in the shipping industry and because of that, I knew that he was stating a fact. I had to “ponder” what he said for a bit before the reality of his statement really sunk in. Our ship of state is indeed like an aircraft carrier that is traveling at full speed in the wrong direction..!! It can not be stopped and turned “on a dime” like many of us wish it to be..!!

When considering the statistics of CVN-76, at just under a quarter mile long, almost a football field wide and some 227 million pounds moving at 35+ MPH, the captain may have to consider slowing the aircraft carrier down first in order to be able to turn it around and get it pointed it in the right direction..!!

Now, you may ask, just what does all of this have to do with our current political situation?? Please allow me to elucidate….

We currently have several candidates that are running for the Republican nomination for president. We also have at least a couple of promising “prospective” candidates, that while they are actively being drafted, they have not yet jumped into “the pool”……

Meanwhile, being the fractious bunch of “individual thinkers” that we as conservatives pride ourselves on being… we are busy doing the Democrats’ work for them..!! We are currently cutting, slashing, burning and taking no prisoners when it comes to taking on the “other candidates” that are opposing “our guy or gal” in this election..!! The Democrats are simply sitting back and waiting for us to do the job for them, as they, and we, do in every election cycle.

We are already making the statement that “if our guy or gal” doesn’t get the Republican nomination, we are “going to write them in anyway”..!! In fact, some candidates are already making noises that if they don’t get the Party nomination, they will “run as an Independent”… Of course, the MSM then picks up on these comments and run with them and use them to show the “divisiveness” that exists within the Republican Party. This is great fodder for the MSM to stir up the liberals and get them to the polls!! Nothing like Republican/conservative blood in the water to get the liberal sharks and the bottom feeders stirred up!!

Yup, that’s just what we need to do to accomplish our ultimate goal of saving our nation there, ain’t it!!! 

HEEELLLLOOOOO, anybody out there remember H. Ross Perot???? That’s how we ended up getting that good ole boy with the El Camino from Arkansas, that “depends on what the meaning of the word is, ‘is’…William Jefferson Clinton” as president..!!

For those that don’t remember, Ross Perot ran as an Independent in the 1992 election and managed to garner some 19,743,000 (19%) votes. The end result was that Bill Clinton won the election with just shy of 45,000,000 (42%) of the popular votes cast. Perot ran again in the 1996 elections and again managed to siphon off some 8.5% of the primarily conservative votes cast. The end result..?? America got four more years of our buddy Bill Clinton…and the Monica Lewinsky scandal thrown in as a bonus.

There is a valuable history lesson there to be learned. We can not let our petty differences get in the way of doing the right thing for our country. Perhaps it’s time to take a queue from our Democrat brothers and when the time comes, we must go and vote for OUR nominee. He or she may not be perfect, may not be our first choice and may not be as constitutional as we would like. However, they will NOT be Obama and while they may not stop the ship of state, they will slow it so that we can make that turn that our country so desperately needs at this juncture in time.

I personally have some “likes” and some “dislikes” in the current crop of candidates and potentials that are out there. BUT, I refuse to help the MSM and the Democrats “bloody the water” using our candidates as the chum. Vet them; yes, but be cautious while doing so, there is a big difference between a fact and a factoid. The internet and storm of emails that always develop around election cycles are notorious for factoids. And while there are many facts available there as well, it is up to us to discern the difference. We must all remain vigilant in what we put forth and purport to be factual.

This is not only for the sake of argument, but to also make sure that both we, and Teabook are beyond reproach. Yes, we were effective in Washington and yes, we did get their attention. As a result of that effectiveness, the Democrats have unleashed their lapdogs, the MSM on us. The MSM bobble-heads are now searching for anything they can find to discredit and shut down the Tea Party movement. We MUST NOT DO their work for them.

In closing, I used the U.S.S. Ronald Reagan as an example for a reason. Lest anyone forget, that Ronald Reagan was a Democrat and a Union member for many years before he became a Republican. Is it not typical for those with a rational mind to become wiser as they age??

We must not lose sight of our goal, remember, our nation can not endure another four years with Obama at the helm of our ship of state.
