I had the health care summit on while I was working and as an Independent have to say I was not pleased to see the lack of interest Obama, Pelosi and Reid showed to anyone or anything that did not agree with the Bill as it is now. I think it was a chance for the public to see that the Republicans did have some good ideas. It also was a chance for the President to shine, but for me I came away with the feeling that Obama just wanted the Republicans to agree with him. I agree with the Republicans and think we need to start over with BOTH sides working together for the good of the American people. We have gone this long without a national health care plan so I would rather see more time and care put in so when it is finished it will be the best plan we can come up with. Other countries have national health care and have major problems with it. Let's not exchange quality for expediency just for political gain....this is too important and will effect life and death issues for all of us. Obama needs to listen to the American public who have stated very clear that we need to start over. If he turns a deaf ear to us now on this important issue then one has to wonder what other things have been and will be done without a care to the people's will. The American people have now witnessed an example of political futility. In this climate nothing can grow. It is up to the President to open and welcome all thoughts with no care if it comes from the right or the left, but from Americans doing their job for their country.
