Ron,

you left off the germane parts - intentional or not the BOR limits government

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; orabridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

The rest are the same . .

So the left seeks to further limit the free speech of the opposition by restricting the first amendment to benefit the leftist propaganda organs. The Senator from the Peoples Republic of Kalifornia seeks to bestow exclusive legislated legitimacy to those who share her views, what a surprise! That this treasonous old b**** and her cohorts are still drawing breath is an affront to freedom and our Constitution. That the rest of our elected officials tolerate this behavior in government makes them accessories to treason.

Dear Mangus,

No need to tell Brenda what to read. Yes, the people and the States retained all rights not specifically granted to the Federal Government or prohibited to the States, but she is not wrong. Aside from the God-given rights enumerated in the preamble to the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution certainly does grant American citizens rights. The first ten Amendments to the Constitution are called the Bill of Rights for a reason.

Amend I - "...or the RIGHT of the people to peaceably assemble..."

Amend II - "...the RIGHT of the people to keep and bear arms..."

Amend IV - "The RIGHT of the people to be secure in their persons..."

Amend VI - "...the accused shall enjoy the RIGHT to a speedy and public trial..."

Amend VII - "...the RIGHT of trial by jury shall be preserved..."

Amend IX - "The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain RIGHTS, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people."

Eschewing smugness, I will refrain from suggesting any reading material for you.

Brenda,

You need to read the proposed Article V project to Restore States rights and powers . . after you read then ask the question again . .

You are still trying to use the BOR and The Constitution as a bestower of rights to individuals - no we the people and the States retained all rights not granted to the Federal Government or prohibited to the States.

Will someone please tell Diane Feinstein that the first Ten Amendments to the Constitution are not called the Bill of Special Privileges, but are called the Bill of RIGHTS?

Mangus:  We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect establish Justice, common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the ABlessing of Liberty to ourseelves and our Posterity, do ordan nad establish this Constitution for the United States of  America.  Remember the Admendments, commonly referred to as the Bill of Rights.

I know full well that the Constitution is the guide for how the government is to operate, the limits placed on the powers of the government as a whole, the role of the House of Representatives, Senate, Executive Branch, and the  Supreme Court.

Or would you rather that the Admendments to the Constitution(Bill of Rights) be thrown out and we become slaves to the government and its increasing grab for power?   These Amendments were added to the Constitution as a protection for the people in order to insure that the citizens of this new country did not suffer at the hands of the government.

All Presidents  present and past have abused their offices at some time or the other;  however, never have the people been assaulted by the government  overstepping it bounds as we are today.

Brenda,

The Constitution does not GRANT RIGHTS - it LIMITS THE POWERS OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT AND THE STATES IN SOME AREAS. It tells the government what powers it is given and what powers it can not use period. That is why Progressives always want to change the meanings - they want more power over we the people.

Obama and the Progressives call it a document of negative powers . . they will not even call it a Constitution anymore.

Why would this surprise anyone? The only way that they think they can win is to make the useful idiots oblivious to the truth.
