(IBD) Desert Storm Victor Stormin' Norman Schwarzkopf R.I.P.- Duty, Homor, Country

Leadership: The hero of Desert Storm gave America a taste of victory  after the wasted sacrifice of Vietnam and demonstrated that only the  sometimes-unwise decisions of politicians can keep us from victory over our  enemies.

Schwarzkopf, called "Stormin' Norman" because of his reportedly explosive  temper, led America to two sorely needed military victories: a small one in  Grenada in 1983 and a big one as de facto commander of allied forces in the Gulf  War in 1991.

Grenada was the first step in a recovery from the legacy of Vietnam, where  defeat was snatched from the jaws of victory in a war micromanaged by Washington  bureaucrats thousands of miles away.

President Ronald Reagan brought a new philosophy to Washington — we win, they  lose — and Norman Schwarzkopf was fine with that.

He earned three Silver Stars for bravery during two tours in Vietnam, gaining  a reputation as a plain-spoken commander with a sharp temper who would risk his  own life for his soldiers — first, as a U.S. adviser to South Vietnamese  paratroops and later as a battalion commander in the U.S. Army's Americal  Division. He earned three Silver Stars for valor — including one for saving  troops from a minefield — plus a Bronze Star, a Purple Heart and three  Distinguished Service Medals.

Unlike many other career officers who left military service embittered by  Vietnam, Schwarzkopf was among those who opted to stay and help rebuild the  tattered Army into a potent, modernized all-volunteer force that under Reagan  would return to its full and ominous potential.

He will be missed.  I had one meeting with him after a recon patrol in No Mans Land north of Bastogne during DS/DS.  It only lasted a few moments but I understood the man behind the stars.  We had just returned from patrol and I was so tired I went to bed with my gear still on.  I say bed but it was a cot in a tent.  Just as I was falling asleep one of my roommates called the tent to attention.  I of course figured he was jacking with me so I told him to (&*$E off.  I rolled over in my cot to see several officers enter our tent.  All of us came right up and stood at attention.  I was doomed ... I just told two generals one COL and two Majors to *((E) off. I will never forget what NS said at that moment:  "ITs OK son I was in NAM"  The whole meeting was because he did not believe his recon reports from HQ and wanted to talk to each team.  Someone was adding numbers to  the prisoner count and by the time it got to HQ either we had a massive prison break or we could not count.  I guess he fixed the problem because we never received another word about it.  Yea I am still teased about that moment.

So what is the plan if they decide not to hear the case?

Comment by Pat Chadwell on December 30, 2012 at 9:04pm

Defendants in this case are the members of the U.S. congress, electors, Joseph Biden in his capacity as a President of the senate, Governor of California, Secretary of State of California and candidate Barack Obama, aka Soetoro aka Soebarkah Complaint was served on the defendants through the U.S. Attorney and Attorney General

Attorney Taitz is in a process of sending complimentary copies to the individual members of Congress. UPDATE: Taitz Confirms! Dr Orly Taitz confirms that she has a signed affidavit from the Hawaii clerk declaring that there is no birth certificate for Barack Obama in any hospital in Hawaii. In spite of her resistance to the story posted at the Obama Hustle which said Onaka (Hawaii clerk) signed documents stating Obama's long form is "invalid", a declaration which Taitz has in her possession signed by Onaka declaring that no BC exists for Obama in that state does actually make the long form presented by the WH "invalid".

General Schwartzkopf proved we couldn't be beaten militarily given our freedom to fight so the comies are now working on beating us internally and Soros is doing a great job of pulling the strings.

Maybe we lack leadership beause we are on a downward trajectory. The corruption, as well as the debt, is unsustainable. When, in recent history, would a Harry Reid be given free reign, or an Obama reelected. This doesn't have to be the case, so who wants it this way?

Gen. Swartzkopf was a great leader, a brilliant strategist, was able to bring cohesion to a divergent group of allies, and had a marvelous sense of humor. I vividly recall his commentary on a video of the missile attack on a bridge outlet side Bagdad. He brought our attention to "the luckiest man in Bagdad" - a guy on a bicycle who barely got across the bridge before it was destroyed.

And now with what is in the white house he will not push the button if we are attacked for he will be out of county and jumping for joy when they do. They can attack and attack and they will not return anything because the are his buddys and he is supplying them...

Desert Shield and Desert Storm made us proud, both at home and abroad. Come to think of it, everything he touched seemed to be a success! And like Reagan, he had great ability to communicate. Why do now lack such leaders?
