While a strong possibility exist that Newt Gingrich’s campaign will rise again there is little doubt that his momentum has waned. The most difficult challenge he must overcome at this point is the lack of earned media. Santorum and Romney are both clearly ahead in earned media at this juncture of the election. There is little reason to expect that will change after the Michigan and Arizona Primaries and Super Tuesday will be more of the same. Even if Newt Gingrich were to win Georgia and Oklahoma or Tennessee he will simply be splitting states with the other candidates. While delegates matter so does the perception that a candidate can win. Newt’s message is powerful and will resonate with the public if he can get it out but without momentum or front runner status this will be difficult to do.
Realistically Newt Gingrich needs something to move his campaign back into the spotlight. In short he needs a game changer. That game changer is Sarah Palin.
It is not common to announce your choice for vice president prior to the national convention. Ronald Reagan announced his running mate prior to the 1976 convention and is the only candidate to ever do so. Newt Gingrich should take a page out of Reagan’s playbook, prove he is not afraid to go against the establishment and announce his running mate now.
A Newt Gingrich/Sarah Palin ticket makes sense. Sarah Palin electrifies the conservative base. She would run well with the social conservatives and tea party helping Gingrich against Santorum. She is not a Washington insider taking the edge off of one of Romney’s key arguments. She would help with the female vote, she would help bring revenue to the campaign, she gets a lot of unearned media coverage and draws large crowds wherever she goes. She would immediately double the amount of territory the campaign could cover. But perhaps the strongest argument is Sarah Palin’s experience working with the oil and gas industries. Sarah Palin understands the energy industry and how to put it work to help the economy and the citizenry. She has already put into practice much of Newt Gingrich’s energy plan at the state level and seen it succeed.
Newt Gingrich and Sarah Palin are known for upsetting the status quo. They both have records of taking action and getting things done. They would make a dynamic duo. A joint conference with Newt Gingrich and Sarah Palin announced as a ticket could be a permanent game changer in the Republican Primary battle.

Comment by JMC on March 9, 2012 at 12:20pm Marianne, I would love to see Black Tea Parties form nationwide. Wouldn't that be great???? He started by just having parties in his back yard and inviting the candidates to meet his friends and I guess it has grown from there.
Comment by JMC on March 9, 2012 at 11:39am At a tea party meeting on Tuesday we met the person who started the "Rocky Mountain Black Tea Party". Check them out on Facebook. He is really a very interesting person to hear speak and it would be wonderful if more black people could see how awful this president is. I can't imagine them not supporting Newt if they understand how much good he can do. I just wanted to bring this to everybody's attention.
Comment by Gary L Hastriter on March 9, 2012 at 10:00am One Thing I neglected to add to my blog of 43 minutes ago.
When telephoning and talking to people, remind them that the MSM and the GOP Establishment, RINO's don't want Newt Gingrich on the ballot because they know that he is the only one that can defeat ZERO in November. This is critical to his campaign.
Get on the telephone.
Comment by cornelius van sant on March 9, 2012 at 9:25am I agree with the author. Gingrich is a rogue. It is why he is the best man to devolve the Nanny State in Washington. The team of Gingrich/Palin is that of two rogues who are on the same page. They are both patriots that would shake up the status quo in DC.
Comment by Gary L Hastriter on March 9, 2012 at 9:13am There's 2 states next Tuesday that will be voting, Alabama and Mississippi.
Let me share my experience with people since the Idaho Caucus. From the speech I gave supporting Newt Gingrich, I believe I garnered 5-10 votes for him. I know for certain that it was 5 and from the comments, those individuals thought there was probably more. I've talked to people that were contacted by Ron & Mitt via telephone. They voted for the lesser of 2 evils or didn't vote at all. If they had been contacted by someone and explained Newt's platform he would have gotten more voters out and more votes. I think this is the case throughout the nation.
In my speech I talked about Newt's record as Speaker, the high points on his 21st Century Contract With America, his resignation as Speaker and how he was exonerated of all the ethics charges.
Would everyone in the remainder of the states start a personal telephone campaign for Newt Gingrich. All that you convert would be a big help. Some people need someone to make up their mind or at least help. I wish I'd done it in Idaho and got other people to help out with it. Anytime you get someone to vote for Newt, ask them to help you in your effort. The power of persuasion is a wonderful thing. You can get all of the information on Newt's campaign at www.newt.org.
Lots of luck and may God Bless you all.
Thank You, Gary (Poppy)
Comment by Marcia Wood on March 8, 2012 at 10:58pm I'm not suggesting Sarah or anyone else for Newt's running mate, but I do think Sarah could help if she get off the fence and start campaigning for Newt. She actually draws huge crowds wherever she goes. If Rush, Mark Levin, Sarah would start addressing Newt's accomplishment it would surely help him alot.
Comment by Gary Covington on March 8, 2012 at 10:01pm Having Sarah Palin as a running mate is not only STUPID but SUICIDAL. I know some of you like Sarah Palin but the truth is that the PUBLIC DOESN'T LIKE HER. And for Newt to say he wants Sarah Plain as his VP would be like having Dracula put a stack in his own heart. Granted Newt does need something big, but Sarah Palin isn't it. What he needs is us, THE TEA PARTY!! to ALL get behind him like we should have from the start and stay behind him and keep backing him. WHY Santorum is getting more votes than Newt is beyond me. Santorum brings nothing to this race except WELL NOTHING. Newt has the experience and the proven history that Santorum just doesn't have. Santorum couldn't even get re-elected in his own state. But I hate to say this but Obama is proving to be right about one thing. We really are stupid and dumb and can be lead by the nose fairly easily. Don't get me wrong at first i liked Santorum but the more I watched the man the more I realized that Santorum is, well,,,,not the brightest bulb in the room. I mean come on people he said in one of the debates that he voted with the rest of the Republicans even though he didn't agree with with them. Taking one for the team I think he said. WOW!! REALLY!!! How about instead doing what your constituent's ask you to do. You know the people that put you into office. Not the good ole boy club. If we keep backing Santorum instead of Newt and Santorum wins and then just keeps doing the same old Washington two step. you will have no one to blame but yourselves. Just like the Senator Scott Brown. The Tea Party back him and then when he didn't do what you thought he would y'all got mad and threw a temper tantrum. And what was so sadly funny about that one is that Scott Brown never said he was a Tea Party backer. But he drove a pickup truck so that made him okay. Sorry if I am making some of you mad but you need to see what is going to happen before its to late. Santorum is just another Scott Brown and John Boehner. A team player for the GOP. NOT the people.

OBAMA IS "TREATING" THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA THE WAY HE WOULD HAVE MADE IT, IF HE HAD BEEN THE "CREATOR" ! THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THAT "HE HAS NO POWER TO "CREATE" ANYTHING BUT CHAOS & CONTROVERSY !
Barack & Eric are two lawyers that have "circumvented the Rule of Law to fit their prejudicial hate for white America for the past 4 years". They have done the very same thing that they accuse white "powermongers" of doing !
November 2012 will be our opportunity to (By The Rule of Law) replace these two Chicago thugs.

Comment by C W D on March 1, 2012 at 6:45am I have a great amount of respect for Sara Palin. In fact, I admire her for her nature of caring about others. But -- I believe the ticket should be Gingrich/West for the simple fact that they both think alike and together, would show the world we are a truly strong and determined country with the ability to pull our country back together under the Constitution and Bill of Rights as written by our founders. The present administration doesn't seem to understand the concept of "UNITED" STATES of AMERICA.
Comment by Nancy Evins on March 1, 2012 at 1:02am I agree with all those who suggest it should be Gingrich/West.Do the pollsters for these candidates ever ask anyone in the public who they would like to see?
