Who would have thought that we, as a nation, would ever come to this place? But what do you expect when almost 50% of the country make no contribution to the nation's progress?

It should come as no surprise. Those who fail to study history are doomed to repeat it. And we are doing just that. There are too many people that believe we are supposed to be living in a democracy. Wrong! We were founded as a Federal Republic, a representative republic, a constitutional republic. A democratic form of government, but a democracy? Hell no.

Our founders knew that as long as the people we sent to Washington were moral and just people, the republic would survive. We have certainly forgotten that history lesson.

A system of morality which is based on relative emotional values is a mere illusion, a thoroughly vulgar conception, which has nothing sound in it, and nothing true. Socrates

Dictatorship naturally arises out of democracy, and the most aggravated form of tyranny and slavery out of the most extreme liberty. Plato

One of the penalties for refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors. Plato

The ignorance of one voter in a democracy impairs the security of all. John F. Kennedy

Democracy is the road to socialism. Karl Marx

Democracy... while it lasts is more bloody than either aristocracy or monarchy. Remember, democracy never last long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There is never a democracy that did not commit suicide. John Adams

Democracy is indespensible to socialism. Vladimir Lenin

Our country's founders cherished liberty, not democracy. Ron Paul

More socialism means more democracy, openness and collectivism in everyday life. Mikhail Gorbachev

For the last history lesson:

And for well over a hundred years our politicians, statesmen, and people remembered that this was a republic, not a democracy, and knew what they meant when they made that distinction. Robert Welch

And it was under Wilson that the first great propaganda slogan was coined and emblazoned everywhere, to make Americans start thinking favorably of democracies and forget that we had a republic. Robert Welch

Our founding fathers crafted a constitutional Republic for the first time in the history of the world because they were shaping a form of government that would not have the failures of a democracy in it, but had the representation of democracy in it. Steve King

The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that is can bribe the pubic with the public's money. Alexis de Tocqueville

We're past the day that Alexis de Tocqueville spoke about. How much longer do we have?
