Help Arizona

I saw on Fox News that the government is not responding to the Arizona Governor's plea for security of our border with Mexico. She can call on the National Guard for help but stated that Arizona can't afford it by themselves and frankly shouldn't have to. Arizona's border is America's border and we need to pitch in and help fund that project. However, We must be reminded that this "IS" the responsiblity of the federal government. That is why we give them money. I guess that they are all caught up chasing their tails concerning this health care law. Until we get washington back on track...let's help Arizona. I figure I will contact her and offer what I can but I can't do it alone.

Comment by Desert Dweller on April 1, 2010 at 10:32am: I live near Nogales and I've been at the border crossing many times between 2 and 3 p.m. when the school day has ended and watched dozens of Mexican students return to Mexico after attending school in Nogales, Arizona. They use the residential address of a friend or relative in living in Nogales, Arizona as their home address even though the student actually lives in Nogales-Sonora, Mexico- and they go to school in the US at the expense of Nogales taxpayers. No one seems to care. If I were in that school district I'd be raising hell over it, but the population of Nogales, Arizona is primarily Hispanic and they don't seem to be motivated to object. If you went to Nogales, Arizona, you would have difficulty figuring out whether you were in Mexico or in Arizona. I still haven't figured out whether it's the cultural mindset of the population there to feel they are more a part of Mexico than the U.S. or if it's just the overwhelming complacency about everything that I've observed in the Hispanic population here.

Comment by Desert Dweller on March 31, 2010 at 3:23pm: To send troops to the border would show that what Napolitano said about the border being secured is BS and it would impede their ability to push through immigration reform and amnesty. Part of their "plan"is to convince us that the border has been secured to prevent further illegal immigration. The murder in Douglas, AZ blows a huge hole in that government lie. They're just hoping it will all just go away and that they can march on and pass the bill and America will never know that the border being secured is the joke of the century.
