Fallacious Arguments for Gun Control

I was commenting to another blog with this and felt it important enough to make into a blog post. Almost the first words out of Obama's mouth is to say that "it is our first responsibility as a country to keep our children safe..." WRONG! Keeping children safe is the first responsibility of that child's parents. The Country is to keep all people safe without to regard to age, race, background, etc. and to do so against "foreign invaders." I believe it is the job of a state or a county in a state to keep their residents safe if they choose to do so. National security has absolutely nothing to do with a state's right to provide more personal security for its residents.

As Constitution believers, it is important then to know what the Constitution and our governing documents actually mean. No part allows the federal gov't to treat one "group" of citizens differently than another group.

This whole issue is not a National Security issue and therefore does not even fall under federal jurisdiction. The jurisdiction is actually the gov't of the location in which the crime was committed.

Someone should call Obama out on his choice of words, which he chooses deliberately so that anyone countering what he is saying looks mean hearted and uncaring about the nation's children. But, in reality, it is because most of us actually do care about the nation's children, that we fight to preserve the intent of the Constitution and the governing docs, not distort them for an emotional appeal which is also a totally incorrect argument to make for doing anything regarding guns.

There has been too much of an emphasis on gov'mint raising kids rather than good parents and the result is lazy parents and a gov'mint that couldn't care less if the kids can't do math well- those same economic illiterates are the ones who think more government spending is the solution no-matter the problem.

ObamaCare give the feds the power to decide who gets health care and who does not. Gun control will disarm us. All dictators disarm the citizens before the final clampdown on them. It sure worked for Hitler and Castro. Free men own guns. Slaves are unarmed.
