The Empire State Building in New York City, which has turned on its lights in the past to honor the 60th anniversary of the Communist Chinese regime and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, has refused to turn on red lights in honor of Cardinal Dolan, newly placed in that high office.
http://articles.nydailynews.com/2012-02-25/news/31099295_1_lighting... ; This has outraged NY area Catholics and the Catholic League.

I recall writing at http://tbirdnow.mee.nu/ny_post_calls_it_mother_teresas_revenge about this, that after they turned down a request to light up the building's exterior in honor of Mother Teresa, the Empire State was infested with bed bugs. Let's hope they get Ten Plagues this time.

Ronald,

Your suggestion defies the rules of logic. I cannot prove a negative. The onus of proof (look on WIki) is on he who puts forth the proposition.

If I held that there was a little green man at the bottom of my garden, it does not fall to you to prove that he is there. If I say there's a green man - I must prove it.

Thank you Jack. Yes, I'm familiar with Peter Hitchens.

Greg, this is obviously a short opinion piece about prejudice against religion by the Empire State Building owners, not a thesis that makes an effort to prove the existence of God. If you want to read such an argument, try

Godforsaken: Bad Things Happen. Is there a God who cares? Yes. Here... by Dinesh D'Souza

and his other books "Life After Death" and "What's so Great About Christianity." Also read the brother of Christopher Hitchens, Peter's book,

The Rage Against God: How Atheism Led Me to Faith by Peter Hitchens

The works of C. S. Lewis are worth a look as well.

Religious nonsense: "the Empire State was infested with bed bugs. Let's hope they get Ten Plagues this time."

Show us some evidence for God before those kind of utterances.

Yes Jack, it does. I don't want, nor mean to stand here and defend them. I am as upset, and disgusted, as everyone else about there refusel to honor any religious person. But are we not a land of laws? Should we, conservitives, do as the progressives, and force someone to do as we wish? I think not, or what are we fighting for? As for the NYPD and FDNY, it is there job to protect, even those we disagree with. Tell them how disapointed in them we are yes. Most of what i have read here is about that. Some is about making them do it. The later is what i am speaking out about here today.

Danny, for the last 10 years, the number one target for bombing in NY City was its tallest building - the Empire State Building. It was kept safe by many police and firemen who are either Catholics (a majority) or have a respect for other people's religion. Just because you can legally do something, that doesn't make it wise or considerate of the society you live in.

I have to say this, as much as i don't like it, the owner of the Empire State biulding does have the right to refuse. Who rents office's in the biulding? If this upsets them, i would hope they move out. We can not force someone to do something they do not wish to do, if we try, we are not better than the left. Sorry if this up set's any of my Tea Party friends. But i would like to think we are better than the thugs on the left. We must use what we can, the econimic power of our dollars to fight the left.

That's okay, no problem. The Freedom Tower at the World Trade Center Sight, put red lights on one of their buildings for Cardinal Dolan just this past week. Who needs the commies!!!!

I argued that the anti-Christ had not come yet.  Each day I am less and less convinced.

@sharron, it sure sounded that way to me.
