After reading one of several emails from the Florida Family Association about their serious efforts to get American advertisers to stop buying ads from Al Jazeera America, one them made me recall a curiosity and an old memory which is mentioned here at the bottom. Dodge autos, now owned by Fiat, is still an advertiser with Al Gorezeera. Their involvement can be seen in this article at the Florida Family Association website which says, in part, that:

It appears that Al Jazeera may have played a fast one on Florida Family Association. Advertisements for five automakers stopped airing on February 25, 2013. This was the deadline date that Florida
Family Association gave three automakers, including Dodge-Fiat, before reporting them as top advertisers. No advertisements appeared for more than a week for any one of these automakers.
Florida Family Association erroneously assumed that since their ads stopped airing on the deadline date that they had pulled their advertising. Al Jazeera America may have done this on purpose hoping that Florida Family Association would publish erroneous information. Florida Family Association will be much more careful in the future when reporting the names of companies that pull their advertising...
Dodge and Fiat certainly have the right to choose where they spend their advertising dollars. You have the same right to object and buy cars elsewhere.
Now is the time to voice concern over the new ownership of this channel. Not after the new program content starts airing and companies fear reprisal. Florida Family Association has prepared an email for you to send to Dodge and Fiat corporate and dealership officials...
To send your email, please click the following link, enter your name and email address then click the "Send Your Message" button. You may also modify the subject or message text if you wish.
Please click here to send your email urging Dodge and Fiat corporate and dealership officials to stop supporting Aljazeera US with their advertising dollars. Your email will be sent to 11 corporate officials and officials at 100 dealerships.

This prompted me to send the Florida Family Association this bit of background history in an email:
I have some background material for you concerning Dodge, something that might be of some limited interest.
Years ago I went to the Nevada State classic car museum in Reno, the one donated by the late Mr. Harrah. I saw a sign with the words "Dodge Brothers" and a Jewish Star of David on it, leading one to believe the brothers were Jewish. But now some proof, some evidence. Last year I went to Reading Air Show World War II Weekend and snapped the attached photo (you may use it if you want) of the hood ornament of a vintage Dodge car. Notice the photo shows the words "Dodge Brothers" and a Jewish Star of David. The Dodge Brothers must be spinning in their graves.

Comment by Jack Kemp on March 14, 2013 at 8:25pm Thanks for the info, Jeff. I left the research up to the Family Research Council to do. Either way, this will upset Al Jazeera somewhat, I would think.
Comment by jalina susan stutte on March 14, 2013 at 7:41pm Florida Family Association keeps us on top of things and I have signed many petitions on this website. Keep up the good work.
Comment by Jeff Smoley on March 14, 2013 at 5:05pm Unfortunately a search to confirm that the Dodge brothers were Jewish turns up that they were Methodist. The Six pointed star used on early hood ornaments is probably a Dodge City sheriff's badge symbol.
Comment by Jack Kemp on March 14, 2013 at 3:59pm DebraJo, since the Reno car museum is in your part of the country, I'll add that the sign I saw may have been a decorative license plate or maybe some wall sign, both in the gift shop. It may not be there anymore, but the Nevada Vintage Car is well worth a look if you like cars.
