Earlier this month, state water authorities revealed that many California farmers would receive none of their annual water allocation from the State Water Project. Now, federal water authorities have announced that the farmers will receive no water from the Central Valley Project. There will still be partial allocations for those with pre-existing water rights, as well as to waterways that provide habitat to endangered fish species.

This week, Obama made a stop in Fresno California, where he promised a staggering $160 million in federal aid - all designed to deal with the state’s disastrous drought. Unfortunately, while blaming the socialist catch-all known as climate change, he neglected to mention that the lack of water was actually caused by government meddling.

President Obama paid a visit to the drought-stricken San Joaquin Valley in California, promising nearly $3 billion in aid to the region to combat the effects of global warming, which he says is causing the drought.

But is it? IDB says there's nothing mysterious about the drought in California; it's manmade:

...Now, farmers are discovering that the FDA's proposed rules would curtail many techniques that are common among organic growers, including spreading house-made fertilizers, tilling cropland with grazing animals, and irrigating from open creeks.

Suddenly, from small family operations nestled in the foothills of Appalachia to the sophisticated organic-grower networks that serve Los Angeles and San Francisco, the farms that celebrity chefs and food-conscious consumers jostle to buy from are facing an unexpected adversary.

Obama and the progressives are the disease. Add to this toxic mix the U.N. with their Agenda 21, and you've got more pollution than we ever saw in the sixties.

Thanks, Gerald.  I know that, but my question is what good does the money do?  Is it to pay off the farmers who can't farm so they won't complain?  It isn't buying water, so who gets the money and why?

I have said this all along  the government refused to give water to CA and its farmers.  Thus they caused this to control food  control food control the people.  THe magnitude that Obama is willing to go is unreal.  He is the main enemy of the United States.

When we have a federal government and rogue EPA who value a small worthless fish over human beings we have reached the point where the end may be nearer than we think. It is time for all Americans to stand up and DEMAND that people are more important than any stupid fish. This is madness at its worst!

Catherine - The environmentalists seem to have no idea of the concept of stewardship, so are useful idiots for power mongers, both of whom seem to think their groceries come from Safeway or an organic garden.

If we took a Genesis approach to "subduing the earth" covered by a real sense of stewardship we could send these poor souls packing - or teach the ones that are teachable. With your kids, take a can of peaches and make a list of all the people, materials, crops, metals, machinery, artistic efforts required to produce the sliced peaches, the can they came in and the label, carton, pallet, fork lift, truck and grocery self to hold it. You'll never get past the peaches alonf, much less the can. "Progressive" central planners just don't understand the level of true diversity required to load our shelves with an infinite variety of goods.

So, what is the money supposed to do - take the place of water?????  Just asking!

Mark is right about the EPA going out of control a long time ago. The Democrat "progressives" and their loony ecobrats have greatly accelerated the process under the Obama regime.

Good things often come out of challenges  - from crooks or nature - people begin to exercise stewardship by improving the process. Fresno State and the International Center for Water Technology fostered the development of drip irrigation and the control systems that optimize it. Others have found ways to save water and energy by incorporating natural phenomena such as silicate-based cooling tower make-up water treatment that eliminates acids, biocides and corrosion inhibitors while reducing water demand 30-50% and can use recycled water.  Another uses strong magnetic fields in the water stream to break down the usually clustered H2O molecules into free H2O's that can absorb liquid fertilizers and penetrate deeper into a plant's root zone. The same phenomena that occurs to produce wonderfully soft rain water as the droplet fall through the earth's magnetic field. Water savings yield 10-30% while significantly improving crop quality and volume.

Three images below should tell the story. Pardon me for being solution-oriented. It's my engineering background:

You are blaming Obama for the EPA regulations that went into effect during Bush and before.
EPA has been making the San Joaquin valley into a desert for the last 20-30 years.

This shouldn't be any surprise to those who read and study their history. Since many don't, we are repeating history once again.

Just look back at the Ukraine problem under Lenin and Stalin and see the exact parallel between what is happening in CA. and what is happening, once again, in the Ukraine. I bet dollars to doughnuts this regeme will side with "Putrid" in the end.

The man made famine caused there, will be a repeat in CA and will affect the entire nation for those who depend on their food.

It has nothing to do with the gold fish or any other species, but the utimate destruction and control of the state and nation. That is the reason we must stop Agenda 21. The governmnt is acquiring government land to control the popluation by restricting agriculture and anything else they dream  up.
We know that we can't look to the establishment GOP, so what are we going to do to stop this?

Another tactic by design from Obama and his cronies to destory America from within. This is a croc of BS. Obama new what he were doing when a cut the water. This was just about the fsome little fish. This was another by design project by Obama.
