Canada and America have always shared more than just a border. Our standard of living, our customs and in many of us the same blood. We are cousins of the first, second and third degree in some cases. What few Americans know is that during the war of 1812 a small group of Canucks managed to make their way all the way to Washington, DC (okay maybe we had a little bit of help from the Brits) and upon entering the White House found a table set for dinner worthy of a king.
This was when President Madison was in power. He was not at home at the time we knocked in a most friendly manner on the front door but his wife escaped our clutches by a matter of minutes! Striking a match we made sure we burned it as well as we had time for before turning tail and running back across the border.
When I tell my new American friends they often ask me to do this again but we here in Canada have become such a socialized democracy I can't afford to buy the matches it would take. Besides, our military though among the best in the world has been decimated at the expense of our social programs here so the last thing I want to do is pick a fight with America. At this time in history Canada would lose soundly.
I invite all Canadians to join me here at Tea Party Nation in a Canadian Conservative group and show support for our newtly elected majority CONSERVATIVE Government. I also ask that you join me in supporting our American neighbours as we watch them from our side of the border fight the good fight for their great Republic.
I can see November 2012 from my side of the border and stand with America in their fight to keep the greatest Republic that has ever existed.
