Can we "REALLY" trust the Republicans?

Yesterday, in the House of Representatives, There was a vote on a bill called the "National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Act of 2011" H.R. 822. It passed by a 272-154 margin and basically went along party lines.

Normally, I would not be alarmed by such bills and there passage, but this one creates a "Trojan Horse" as they like to call it, that could very well usurp the authority the States have in Gun Control matters. I fear it will lead to the creation of a Federal hand gun permit and open the door wide to Federal gun control laws that none of us want.

Unfortunately, my Representative voted for this and I do plan to let him know my displeasure in NO uncetain terms. If we do not remain vigilant on Congress, even it it is in GOP control, I fear this 8000 pound gorilla called the Federal Government will just get bigger on us, even under the Republicans.

The point here is, the Federal Government does NOT have the Constitutional authority to issue permits to private citizens. It has been the authority of the States since the Constitution was written.

If people cannot see the danger in this bill, then perhaps they will get what they deserve. It really isn't designed for us, as citizens, to carry our handguns accross state lines, it is to set the precedence for later on when the Federal Government brings the issue before the Supreme Court, because we all know the Supreme Court doesn't arrive at their decisions via the Constitution, they make them from precedence. Once the feds have issued their first permit, the sky's the limit for them, including the instituing od Agenda 21, not to mention Hillary's pet UN small arms treaty.

Sorry, if you sheep wish to allow the feds to start making restrictions on you right to bear arms, you go ahead, personally, I NOT going to.

"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

Infringe

In the context of the Constitution, phrases like "shall not be infringed," "shall make no law," and "shall not be violated" sound pretty unbendable, but the Supreme Court has ruled that some laws can, in fact, encroach on these phrases. For example, though there is freedom of speech, you cannot slander someone; though you can own a pistol, you cannot own a nuclear weapon.)

We need a national concealed carry mandate pronto - which would require BHO's fake 'home' state to let good, partiotic sitizens carry there guns like they are allowed to by their own state thru Illinois. The right to carry is a constituton right, which ougt to be national.

Reply to Jordan Whitson: I know you mean well but think it through a little. The law you propose has the Federal level telling a state what it can or cannot do. That's exactly what you DON'T want!

The way the Constitution is set up each state is its own little country and can make pretty much whatever laws it wants to. If it makes stupid laws the people vote with their feet, as at least one writer here did. When the legislature starts noticing the echos caused by vacant buildings they re-think their stupidity. Pretty good system.  :)

I'm 100% for the bill being passed. I left Illinois 17 years ago and am very happy I did.

I have no problem with this there are many false statements being circulated, over all it is better for us, if I had a permit it would allow me to carry in other states under certain circumstances as each state has it own laws, you have to read the bill to see the long version of the explanation.
