As a young man I joined the Boy Scouts. The scout motto has stayed with me my entire life: Be Prepared. Never in my six decades has this value of preparedness ever been more relevant and urgent than in these the days of Barack Hussein Obama.
It would be foolish to blame Obama alone for the ills that face our nation. He is merely the tip of the iceberg, the manifested logical progression of an incipient corrosive mindset that has polluted the American value system for over one hundred years.
Not that we were ever perfect. We fought a civil war to end the slavery which plagued humanity for millennia and had spilled over into our new nation. The subsequent struggle to accord black Americans the dignity they were due as recipients of the blessings granted by the one Creator who endowed all men with unalienable rights is evidence of our imperfection. Nevertheless, inexorably we plodded through the muck and mire of history and aspired to means and ends which were anchored in self evident truths.
Our generation is at the crossroads. Most anyone reading this is painfully aware of this fact. Our “manifest destiny”, the notion of “American Exceptionalism” are openly scorned by Progressives. This movement is led by none other than he who has sworn an oath to protect and defend a Constitution which he has openly declared is “flawed”, Barack Hussein Obama. No man has flaunted his disdain for our founding documents more brazenly than our current President.
I will not present a detailed case to support this premise. The record is public and speaks for itself. Whether in matters of policy, values, liberty or practice, Obama is the enemy of the good. No man can speak falsehoods; can shamelessly say one thing and do another; can act contrary to his oath of office; can pursue objectives that are antithetical to liberty, to prosperity, to the rule of law, to fundamental truths as does Obama, and be regarded as anything other than an anti-American President.
Are you a Christian, a Jew, a traditionalist, a Constitutionalist? Are you anchored in your faith values? Do you believe in unalienable rights? Is the Bill of Rights sacrosanct to you? Do you believe in your right to free speech, to live nonviolently according to the dictates of your conscience and your God? Do you believe that your right to self defense must not be infringed and must be defended?
Do you believe that the State in which you were born is sovereign to the federal government, except where that sovereignty has been voluntarily restricted by enumerated responsibilities granted to the federal government by the Constitution?
Do you believe that sovereignty rests in God and that the creatures made in His image and likeness are stewards over the earth and not inferior to it? Do you believe that we are sovereign over the governments that we the people have formed to serve us?
If so, then Be Prepared. You are being classified and labeled as extremists. You are being singled out as enemies of the state. You are considered terrorists. Laws have been passed (The Patriot Act, NDAA,) that allow our servant to act as our master; that permit agents of the federal government to by-pass our constitutionally protected unalienable God given rights and write their own warrants; that allow indefinite detention of Americans without recourse or accountability.
We the people are being pillaged by a privileged elite who have plundered our wealth, confiscated our savings, turned our monetary system over to private banking globalists who consider themselves above the law. Our enterprise has been stifled, our resources proscribed, our educational system deliberately repressed, our virtues intentionally sacrificed at the altar of humanism.
Be Prepared. The narcissistic amateur who promised that under his policies “energy costs would necessarily skyrocket” is on the hunt and his sights are set on all that you hold sacred. Your freedom, your faith, your family, your values, your nation, all are regarded as dung and fodder for the utopian gulag that he and his puppet masters have envisioned: a world where they rule the roost and we bow in submission.
We have one last chance. The election of 2012 has been called the most important election in our lifetime. If we are not ready to pay the price to win in November, America as we know it, as we envision it for our children is doomed. This is not hyperbole. It is a frightening reality.
Be Prepared.

To complete my last post:
To take resources, run away until others had done the work of preparing the field, and then return IS “REAPING” the benefits of the labor of others. There used to be a term for such opportunism and exploitation. During the reconstruction, after the first American Civil War, they called them “CARPETBAGGERS”! Don’t expect me, or any other real American, to welcome such any more than the citizens of the Confederacy did.
To summarize our differences of perspective, I would have to say that the basic difference between us is that I believe in the transcendental values of the American spirit, the strength and commitment of those who truly posses it and their willingness to pay the price of our failure to fulfill our responsibilities to it. You do not. Yes, there are many long and dark days ahead of us but, like Jefferson, I believe that the people WILL get it right, in the end. Near the end of my poem, Home of the Eagle, is a well known phrase that summarizes my belief in the American People –“These Colors do not run”!
John, in reply to your answer:
What will happen to those countries, you speak so glowingly of, when America falls? How long do you really believe they will remain as they are? Will just long enough for you to live out your life be OK with you?
I am sure the German citizens, who recognized what was happening in 1939, felt that they had “escaped” the horrors coming to their homeland by fleeing to France, Italy, Norway, & etc. I reiterate, you are only buying temporary security. You prove my point for me with your quote from Mz. de Rugy. She felt “oppressed” in France so she moved to America. How has that worked out for her, today? About the same as for most “intellectuals” I would say.
So, in your view, I am “about two decades out of date”. I suppose that depends on your perspective. After reading your posts I can see how we have different perspectives. Yours is not wanting to loose the material things that you have accumulated and that you are “too old to start over. You are willing to fight but only up to the point of losing what you have accumulated.
I have a somewhat different perspective. Like you, I am retired and would not like to give up everything that I have worked hard to acquire. At almost sixty-three years old, “starting over again” will be a real bear – particularly since it is highly unlikely that I will live long enough to do so.
Where we differ is, while you are only willing to fight up to the point of losing your possessions, I understand that true freedom may – and probably will – require that I honor that blank check I wrote about half a century ago…the one for “all that I am, everything that I have and all that I might be”. I hope that will not come to pass but, if it does, so be it. I will not run and I will not fear my final judgment.
You paraphrase a “gentleman” (by order of Congress ONLY) acquaintance. The fact that he left is irrefutable proof that he likes to “talk the talk” but is not willing to “walk the walk”. His rationalization of his actions ignores the fact that the oaths we both took do NOT have the word “until” in them!
America is not simply a geographic area, a particular collection of people or a system of government. The heart of America is a spirit – the spirit of freedom – and it demands certain things of us. The essence of freedom is not only several, transcendental, values but the willingness to dare to loose all to ensure those values survive. To try and claim that “America” is anywhere that you are, when you are unwilling to actually defend the values you claim, is pure hypocrisy and rationalization!
While the concept of tactical withdrawal is a valid strategy, if you are going to use analogy, please use valid analogy. What MacArthur faced, in the Philippines, is not what we face today. Neither was the battle at the Little Bighorn.
Furthermore, remember that the first shot fired, in our war for freedom, did not take place three thousand miles away, against a distant enemy. It took place right on the green of an American town against an enemy vastly superior in numbers, training, equipment and resources. Who won that fight and what did their victory cost them?
Each person must make their own decisions, based on their own values. While no one has the right to dictate what another’s values should be, everyone has the right to judge the actions taken, based on those values. If, in fact, one were to leave, with the stated intent to set aside resources to “SOW” when the field was, once again, fertile AND they then returned to prepare the field then their claim would be valid.
To take resources, run away until others had done the work of preparing the field, and then return IS “REAPING” the benefits of the labor of others. There used to be a term for such opportuni
Comment by JOHN DELASAUX on March 11, 2012 at 4:23pm David Edwards posted a comment which, for the first time which I can remember, gives a voice to the true feelings which we are all coming to realize about our predicament.
"We can share the information with other Loyal citizens. It may be useful later on."
In other words, "Take pictures and take names. We are about to drop into a political cravasse, and we will need to be able to point the finger at the people who betrayed us and destroyed our country."
Comment by Charles F Nichols on March 11, 2012 at 2:45pm No argument here.
Comment by Walter Bowen on March 9, 2012 at 9:34pm God Bless America
Comment by Cynthia Catsman on March 9, 2012 at 7:54pm John - One other thought. Some folks on SS are at the maximum which translates to about $4,800.00 per month per couple. If other countries are less expensive, then investment income could be preserved and grow - at least in normal times and providing one is not extravagant. Given the loss of home equity for many and the hits that 401Ks have taken (for some), it takes a hell of a lot of money to move now!
