My advice to Republicans:
1. First decide if you truly want to win.
Now, this may seem a pointless question, but maybe you really WANT to lose? Maybe it’s easier to be nothing more than the “loyal opposition,” whose raison d'être is to offer some counterpoint to Obama and to negotiate losing deals with the Democrats?
There are clear indications that this is the c...ase, things Democrats never, ever do: Running TWO presidential candidates in a row who refuse to use Reverend Wright and other sure signs of Obama’s radicalism in their campaigns; allowing Republicans to publicly criticize or sabotage their top-of-the-ticket candidates. Remember the sandbagging of Sarah Palin, giving Katie Couric access without preparing Sarah, and those disparaging comments about her from Murphy and Noonan over an MSNBC open mike? Or that GOP Greek chorus slamming Mitt for “politicizing the Egyptian embassy attack”? Why did Mitt not bring up Benghazi in that final debate? Why is it the GOP NEVER has a message that all Repubs stick to? Why did they abandon the winning strategy of 2010 in favor of no strategy in 2012?
2. Assuming Republicans do want to win, start grooming a tough, charismatic presidential candidate NOW. Keep that person constantly before the public’s eye and constantly in Obama’s face. Does the advertising term “Brand Awareness” have a familiar ring? Oh, and puh-leeze stop with the Rubio thing; he’s nice looking and Hispanic, but boring.
3. Make sure there is a—now write this on your palms, so you’ll remember it—a REPUBLICAN MESSAGE. You know: like the Democrats always have? If Republicans actually had a message, they’d have a huge advantage, because their message would be TRUE. All Repubs repeat the message publicly whenever possible, and no Repub disagrees with it.
4. Stop viewing Democrats as your friends across the aisle; they are your opponents in a bloodless Civil War. That means: make Democrats pay a price for everything they do. Let no lie go unchallenged, no attack unanswered; no chance to criticize Dems slip away. In short, do what the Democrats have been doing all along.
5. DO NOT let the Leftist media have access to any Republican unless he or she means to respond forcefully to all slurs and unfair questions. Embarrass media figures when they show bias. Know that they are not interviewing any Republican to inform the public, they’re doing it to damage that Republican as much as possible.
6. Do as the Dems do: damage all potential political opponents. How can any Republican compliment Hillary Clinton?
7. In Heaven’s name, do you not see American power is being used to hand the Middle East over to the Muslim Brotherhood, country by country? Is there some hidden advantage to America in this? There is no Arab Spring; it’s a Western Winter. Speak up, Republicans!
Republicans, if you are not prepared to take these steps, do America a favor: make room for a serious party and retire to the dustbin of history next to the Whigs.

Comment by Judy O'Hare on January 26, 2013 at 7:31pm Victoria, you are exactly right! That's why I will only support conservative candidates, but not thru the party & will come up with a list of constitutional questions for them to answer before they get any support. I will not give money or any support to any party functions or fundraisers, dues or whatever. This may be the only way to get their attention & still use ther structure to get conservatives elected. I think we should contact Sarah Palin & Allen West to see if they are interested in joining us. Donald Trump is also an excellent idea also. I heard in an interview that he wished he had stayed in the race. He couldn't have done any worse. Maybe all these people needs is to be asked. Let's just do it! They can only say no!
Cold Warrior - we are the grunts - I for one know how to get out the message if there is a consistent message. I worked the last few elections like a plow horse (my dog doesn't work that hard) but we could only work with what was given to us. The computer programs didn't work. The calls I made ended up largely to democrats not interested, as were the large portion of the 850 homes I personally contacted. I feel my efforts were wasted in addition to the big let down of this election due to permitting voter fraud like crazy. We need great candidates, we need the clout to have our leaders reflect and vote according to their Republican principles and not penalize the candidates that do hold their principles; we need to run a strong campaign on our message and shoot down every lie immediately; we need an HONEST election and we need a campaign machine that will rival the gangsters we oppose. No committee person can overcome if that is lacking.
Carol Williams - that actually sounds good to me.
I love you sweetheart. This is perfect. Are you running, puleeze? You and I and a few others understand this but the establishment - phwezzz (Bronx cheer) are not on board. They voted all the people who helped us lose back in. They will likely wake up two months before election.
My pick would be Bill Whittle of PJTV. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wgxlp2UJI5I
Comment by Cold Warrior on January 21, 2013 at 10:09pm My advice to everyone who wants to give advice to "the Republicans."
Save your breath. Unless you are willing to actually do something.
"The Republican Party" is a voluntary association of Americans in each local community. It is made up of its "voting members." In most states they are called "precinct committeemen." For example, in Arizona, where I live, by statute, each political party that has achieved ballot status (not an easy thing to do) gets one precinct committeeman slot per precinct and then one more for every additional 125 registered voters of that party residing in that precinct, or a majority portion thereof. Some precincts have only one precinct committeeman slot, some have have up to 25 or more. My precinct has 12 slots and all twelve are filled by conservatives. And we got 86+% of the Republicans to the polls in the 2012 general election.
The local Republican Party committees meet every two years to elect officers. The more conservatives that are in the PC slots, the greater likelihood the committee will have conservative officers.

If you want to change the Republican Party, get inside it.
Nobody inside the Republican Party cares a whit about what gets written on a blog. If the TPN conservatives want to change the Republican Party, they have to actually get inside it. By becoming "voting members" of the Party.
I wonder how many of the commenters here have every attended their local Republican Party committee meeting?
Unite. Organize. At your local Republican Party committee meeting every month. Become voting members of the Party. Fill up every vacant slot.
Or lose your country.
Thank you.

Comment by James H .Eblen on January 19, 2013 at 10:23am To Hunter60 & Dennis L - Dennis you have the cart before the horse. Hunter60 - Your comment about first getting a coherent philosophy is an attampt to place the horse in front of the cart.
To both do not try to force it down the throats of the Repubicans, they are too wraped up stanching defeat from the jaws of victory.
Build a new party that has a coherent philosophy, that will add the programs designed to return this nation to We the People. This new programs will encompass all thos points made by Myralynn and Dennis L. plus more.
Comment by hunter60 on January 19, 2013 at 9:16am Nicely done! Certainly these are awesome tactics but what is missing is a coherent philosophy, without which the Republicans will be as rudderless as they've always been.
