A Letter I Wrote to a Liberal I Know

Hi XXXX. I saw this post:

XXXXXXX writes:
Sad, but true. If corporations were not so greedy and actually used their resources-profits to help fight poverty and unemployment, then the United States would be utopia for workers and businesspeople alike.

And I wanted to talk to you about it. You know I respect what you say - this is America!  I just wanted to tell you where I think there are some flaws in that post by that Chris Hedges person you attached to your post.

First of all, corporations became part of globalization - this is an initiative set forth by the UNITED NATIONS to help stamp out poverty. See, the UN figured that if corporations were to bring jobs to those countries, it was a way to stamp out poverty and help emerge countries from third world states into a developing nation. All well and good, right? The liberals loved that! Now it's hurting us.

We in the U.S. are used to a certain level of living. Truly. We enjoy technology, cars, nice homes, etc. because we are an entrepreneurial country that has already, through taxation as well, spread the wealth to countries in Africa and the Middle East. The U.S. under president Bush gave more money in AIDS relief to Africa than any president so far, including Obama. Fast forward...the United Nations is fighting poverty and crying social justice for others in the world right? On whose backs? Why ours of course! What other countries are doing this? Not many.

Let's talk about corporations again. Corporations are the drivers to our community. Without them, there would be NO TAXATION from the workers in order to give to the government and then the government in turn gets that money out to the street in programs to help the needy, unemployed, etc. See, corporations in a free market society compete between and with each other which drives down prices and determines market share. There's more to it but I won't bore you. When I see stuff where corporations are supposed to be evil, it disturbs me. Corporations, as an entity, are being taxed with the highest corporate tax rate in the WORLD but nobody knows that because they see CEOs like Jeffrey Immelt taking advantage of its lobbying with the Obama administration to pay nothing and then take those jobs overseas. They do that because this government gives them NO INCENTIVES to stay. Warren Buffet, remember him? He takes his salary in capital gains, which is taxed at what, 15%? His secretary does not take her salary in capital gains and is taxed at a higher rate (obviously he pays her well). What he said is not true and Obama is repeating it as if it were. That is not fair. It is not good. It is not ethical. I thought all the liberals thought ethics was very important. I do not care for these groups walking on Wall Street because one of them are funded by George Soros, the other two are funded by another frigging country! Those people are so naive they don't even have a replacement for corporations or a free market society. They just want something for nothing.

What made America great was having a free market society where wealth is created so that others may prosper. Without that, more people become poverty stricken. Americans didn't want to pay more money for the same products made in America. Well, a free society allowed that choice, hence the transfer of OUR wealth to China. We indirectly fought poverty in China by doing so. China is building bridges and roads and trains with the money we GAVE TO THEM by buying their products! Americans made that choice and now Americans want to buy American? That's called protectionism and it doesn't work well. Union prices didn't help either - people wanted their own dollars to stretch so they bought Chinese, Japanese, whatever. We didn't pay attention to the loss of our manufacturing base - we have become a nation of managers, not workers. We offer services, not things. The internet can now offer those same services.

What is the solution XXXX? More regulation on corporations? They move out of the country now because of that. More unions? The benefits cost so much more than the private sector without unions that those corporations are outpriced by the market. Ford Motor Company did not opt for a federal bailout - they believed in the free markets and they recovered. That's a lesson we should all take in spades.

Look, XXXX, there are always more sides to one issue and when I see people in the street attacking our corporations and what made us the nation we once was, it turns my stomach. Only in America are people allowed to wake up in the morning and become their own boss - that doesn't happen everywhere. If that power as a people is taken away, we will no longer be a great nation, the nation that welcomes others to come to prosper, the nation where immigrants want to come. No more will that happen. Americans will want to go to other countries to prosper. If we don't get smart, get a handle on our spending and lower taxes as incentives to get corporations to hire, and for God's sake, get rid of Obamacare's taxation rates for corporations (yes, it's there, look it up), we will choke ourselves to death. To death! Corporations OWE THE PEOPLE NOTHING. NOTHING. Yet the people are asking corporations for everything. If I was a corporation today, I would be moving my company away from America's high rates to keep the money it makes to reinvest it in the people of my company. Which is what these corporations are doing, except they are doing it with people in other countries.

Now America knows what it felt like to other countries, as those other countries watched our country make money and prosper. The shoe is on the other foot now. Americans stupidly embraced the "stamp out global poverty" rhetoric, giving away its wealth to help others while Americans were unknowingly waiting for our wealth not to come back to us. Eventually, we run out. We are running out now and people cannot believe it or are unwilling to believe it. We are very damaged and need strong leadership to get us out of this mess. WE ARE ALL TO BLAME, NOT ONE PERSON OR ONE ADMINISTRATION. WE ARE ALL TO BLAME BECAUSE WHILE WE ENJOYED OUR CARS AND FOOTBALL GAMES, OTHERS WERE DRAINING OUR COUNTRY OF ITS WEALTH. When America is no longer wealthy as a country, what are we except a second class nation with a high number of high school dropouts, music writers and sports. We had a brain drain to other countries. Young people graduating from college as engineers are going to China! They used to come here - no more. They go to China. Why? Because that communist country actually has better corporate regulations than we do - and if you think China adheres to all this environmental stuff corporations gotta go through, you're on another planet. Why should America be the ONLY country to give up so much wealth for the environment? If we go broke, China will come in and rape our lands anyway...see? All that environmentalism for naught.

Please understand that I didn't get into all the complicated corporate stuff right now. The bottom line is this: if we don't save America now, and keep it wealthy (or give it the means to get the engine going again), we will never be able to stamp out poverty or help others and ourselves. Without taxes, there is no Healthy Start program. Without taxes, there is no welfare. Without taxes, there are no food stamps. See? It's a cycle and when we demonize the very engine that enables the taxation that enables programs, we are screwing ourselves and the elitists are laughing at our naivetee! It's time to take back our country, go back to the basics, stop with all the political correctness and call it like we see it (winners and losers) and stop placating everyone. We need to stand strong, focus on morality and ethics, and get rid of all those politicians who have lied straight to our faces as they stole from us. Yes, stole from us. What do you call an entity that takes your money and then throws it away? The first time, they are the fools. The second time, we are.

Look at www.fairtax.org to get an idea of what is important to me. Fair consumption taxation across the board. Everyone keeps 100% of their pay check and guess what? No IRS. No loopholes. Nothing but a fair taxation. The Poor? They keep their money and pay taxes on consumption ONLY. The Rich? They keep their money and pay taxes on consumption ONLY - except their purchases go beyond food and day to day operational purchases. If Obama was brave, he would practice what he preaches and make EVERYONE PAY THEIR FAIR SHARE BY PASSING FAIRTAX.ORG'S PLAN FOR TAXATION. And think of it this way, the illegal aliens will also be paying the same taxes as we would. LOL.

Thanks for letting me write this.

Hope all is well with you and yours...
