Comment by William H Blakeney Jr on October 22, 2012 at 3:13am Trust Mitt to do the right thing. He has spent his life proving that he knows what he is doing. If he chooses the correct wife that proves he knows what he is doing. If he saves the corrupt Olympic Committee, that proves he knows what he is doing. If he chooses the correct VP, that proves he knows what he is doing. If elected that should be PROOF that he knows what he is doing? TRUST MITT TO DO THE RIGHT THING, HE KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING! The only other choice is Obama, and if you think Obama knows what he is doing, then Obama is the man for you!
Comment by Brenn Boughton on July 20, 2012 at 10:11am Sounds good to me. Let's get started.
Comment by Sheila Oxsher on July 19, 2012 at 2:55pm This is a dream team. I like this one. I hope most of the departments are gone and these people oversee that effort.
Comment by Janet Bosley on July 19, 2012 at 9:42am Paul, Romney has already said he was going to get rid of many departments and Education happened to be one of those he mentioned. I believe he will get rid of some, there is too much waste going on and a lot of those departments are the reason why. Yes, I believe Romney will do that. I think what we all need to remember is these things will not happen in a month after he is elected, there are too many things to get done and they have to have their prioraties in place as well and us remembering, when you start knocking dominos down there is a chain reaction and they will need to be prepared to connect the dots and fill in the gaps to control the roll. time, it will take some time. With a strong proactive competent team it can be done and in a timely manner and as as said. The sooneer they are in place the faster things will happen.
Comment by Janet Bosley on July 19, 2012 at 9:36am I can see how having this all in place would be a big kick in the head for Obamas team. Their focus would be so far spread and all over the place that it would be hard to just focus on bashing Romney. There are a couple of people here I would not necessarily agree with but the one I would really question is Joe Arpaio. For one thing, doyou know his age? As a follower and supporter of Arpaios for all the years he has run I am starting to think we need to be looking for another strong sherriff in Dodge that will focus on the same things. Many of us that have been behind him for years do believe he has run his course and is at a point in his life he needs to find a suitable predicessor and support him. The entire idea and thought process however cold be kind of like the Bomb over Hiroshima to the obama Team. Could definately be a game winner.
Comment by Kathae on July 17, 2012 at 6:01pm Perfect! I also wrote on Mitt Romney's website. Allen West would be a perfect choice for VP, and the rest are perfect as well. I sure hope he takes the advice, and it is time for him to come out swinging. No asking Obama to apologize for anything, it isn't going to happen. Let him say whatever he wants, he has his own hoof and mouth disease which Romney can easily counteract with facts.
Comment by Charles Kienast on July 17, 2012 at 2:39pm Paul Geffert - I have posted on Mitt Romney's official site but have never heard anything back. Don't know if there is a way to send something directly to Romney or one of his top people like Ed Gilliespie, etc. Would like to communicate with them but hard to reach people like that with all the stuff they likely get.
Mike Meeks - of course, there are some departments (corrupt and wasteful that serve no useful purpose for all practical purposes), and they should be abolished but not sure that Mitt Romney will do that. A Sarah Palin, Allen West or maybe even a Newt Gingrich would but can not see Mitt being that aggressive there. A conservative Congress could by refusing to fund them when passing a budget or making their budget so low that they have to do major cuts in their programs and number of people who work there, etc. But if we could eliminate or drastically reduce many un-effective, useless and wasteful agencies, combine those that are reduntant and cut overall government spending, we could definitely have a balanced budget without a tax increase. Of course, we should still pass a constitutional amendment that mandates a balanced budget (except in time of war) and an amendment that allows the president to have line item veto authority (like most state governors have. Also, we need to have a major tax reform bill that streamlines our tax structure and eliminate all deductions -- all of this would reduce spending and increase tax collections due to increased business activity in this country along with a robust economy - less taxes overall but more tax collection with an increased in our business and economy and more people working who will be paying into the tax collection system instead of getting entitlements and handouts. Comment by Mike Meeks on July 17, 2012 at 2:17pm Great list. A few corrupt departments were left out. The FDA and Federal trade commission are close to the top
of the list.
Do you think we could get a (balanced) budget with out a tax increase if we stop paying for bad government?
