Defining Conservatives- What is and what isn't

Please visit www.eaglesforamerica.com

This week's post returns to the classic question. What is really conservative. Perhaps there is no clear cut answer. What do know is that a lot of Americans have positioned themselves as conservatives, because it is a comfortable classification. Yet, when we review their support for "big government" and especially "government intrusion into the lives of Americans," they can hardly be called…

American in need of Visionaries, Risk Takers

Please visit www.eaglesforamerica.com

Today's post begins with a recount of my communication with Cory Fritz, Speaker Boehner's Press Secretary. The point that is clearly made is Boehner faced an uphill, if not impossible challenge as House Speaker. There are lot of Republicans, including Tea Party activists who would like to see him replaced. Have we been unduly critical of John Boehner?

On paper, Boehner appears to have the right…

Social Conservatives- Neo Cons or Constitutionalists

Please check out today's post on Eagles for America, "Social Conservatives- Neo-Cons or Constititionalists."

Please visit www.eaglesforamerica.com

The post picks up where the April 14th post left off. In that post, "Who are the Neo-Cons," a startling accusation emerges. Are these Neo-Cons indeed "evolved Trotskyites?" And, if they are, could it be possible that they have induced Social Conservatives to join them…

Explaining "Perfect Society" to America

Please visit www.eaglesforamerica.com

This week's post picks up on a previous post in describing the Antebellum South's nearly forgotten, "Perfect Society." Modern application is thoughtfully detailed in an effort to flush out the "why" that this couldn't work in contemporary America. "No way! No how!" Or, so some might say! But let's look at the concept objectively.

"Perfect Society" is the polar opposite to Marxism. It must be…

Enter the Jeffersonians

Much has been written about the need for a third party in America. But realistically, can a third party be successful?

There is always the possibility. But history would suggest that the chances of total success, as in general election victory are not good. Maybe it's because third parties have represented the "fringe"elements of both parties. The two that come to mind are Ralph Naders "Green Party" in 2000 and George Wallace's "American Independent Party" in 1968.…

A Nation of "Cowards and Wimps!"

It is a fortunate thing that the 2012 spirit was not around in 1776!

Had the spirit and courage of today been the norm then, we would never have seen any revolution. Only quiet submission! Anything, to keep from offending his majesty. Or, better put, "Mars George!"

How about the Texans in 1836. When reviewing their war for independence, it's a miracle that they didn't tell Santa Ana, "anything you say, boss!" Or, "lo siento, Mis Presendente! Es verdad nosotros…

President Barack Obama was never truly vetted.

Much has been written about the "how" and the "why?" We all know that the mainstream media has protected him throughout his rise. It was never more obvious than in the debates. They literally escorted him through the general election. In route, our media proved that they are no more reliable than Soviet "Pravda."

A partisan media was "how" he escaped the normal scrutiny that accompanies a run for the top office.

The "why" is…

Antique Book Provides Hidden Facts, Startling Insights."

Several years ago I "lucked up"on an old book in a Frankfort, Kentucky Antique Bookstore.

The book was entitled, "The Unmaking of a Russian." It was authored by Nicholas Wrenden. It was published in 1935.

I had never heard of Wrenden. The book was obviously first edition and may have been the only edition. What struck me initially was the penciled in notes throughout the book. These had been made evidently by someone who had witnessed the books discussion…

No Time for Miscues

Sorry Todd Akin.

Politics is a tough game. It is unforgiving. It is one of those places where mistakes are rarely forgiven. Especially when there is a pivotal Senate seat in play.

Just imagine! What if Mitt Romney won the Presidential election? Republicans maintained control of the House. And, the Senate tally came up short! Could anyone imagine Harry Reid not allowing a vote on the repeal of Obamacare? I can!

When reviewing the Missouri Republican primary, warning signs…

Winning the General Election

Republicans, ALL of us need to quit bitchin' and start thinking about this November! We simply can't have another four years of Barack Obama. As much as I suspect Mitt Romney, I would rather take my chances with him than endure four more years of Barack Obama.

Romney was not my first, second or even third choice. There are many things wrong with him. Starting with his current state of residence. Some friends of mine who reside in Boston just returned from China. When I asked them…

The Deceptive Polling Numbers

There is no doubt that Romney would perform better in New York, Massachusetts or Vermont than the rest of the pack. But Republcans have little or no chance in those states! True, he would lose 53-47 in New York while Gingrich would likely lose 59-41 and Santorum would lose 58-42. So what!

Point is, when you add the better numbers in New York into the mix, it wrongly skews Romneys overall numbers. The media has been slow to point this out!

Never say never! But I think that…
