I grew up in the late 60’s- early 70’s in the inner city of Philadelphia. It wasn’t the best place for a foster kid to grow up- that’s for sure. Poverty was everywhere. Alcoholism and drug use was rampant. Nearly, every day going to and from school, my little friends and I had to fight either black kids or Hispanic kids. The racial tension was thick and the hatred even thicker.
