What yesterday’s election so plainly illustrated is that when Americans go to the polls, for the greater majority of them, it’s emotion which will carry the day, not reason. Obama had emotion to spare. Romney did not. McCain also did not. Dole also did not. But then, we knew that. Why didn’t the GOP know that? Neither did Romney offer a clear and compelling difference.
