Comment by charlotte ploss 28 minutes ago Here and elsewhere, I see and hear too many "reasonable" people ask for, want, wish for, demand candidates who can "reach across the aisles". Many folks crave politicians who are "moderate", who can "find a middle ground", who understand "compromise". Nonsense - and I am sick of this myopic foolishness.
"NO" should mean "NO". Not "MAYBE".
NO amnesty. NO spending our nation into receivership. NO weakening of our national defense. And a dozen more "NO's". Such 'go along to get along' 'moderation' has wrought immeasurable damage to our country.
Are there any 'absolutes'? Is there an issue where any form of compromise means that to support it you have to lower your standards? Where you have to deny your own sense of integrity - of reality? Any issue where you have to sweep your common sense under the rug in order to accept it? I see many issues.
For sure, not all issues are strictly black and white - there are lots of gray areas. But for the sake of this country there are issues where there cannot be any compromise. I long for honest representatives who comprehend 'right' and 'wrong' and who stand by their beliefs. Too simplistic, you think?
Our government leaders shovel convoluted, nefarious, and conniving crap at us regularly. (the health care bill being the most egregious example). Confusing and confounding us is the only way they get away with it. Time to simplify. Time to find leaders who oppose 'riders' and 'earmarks' attached to proposed bills so that an up or down 'Yes' or 'No' clarifies the position of elected representatives who then have to stand by that vote and justify it to the electorate.
I say - No more 'moderates' and 'aisle jumpers'.

Charlotte,
Please complete the poll questions at www.leadyourcountry.com . We must put forth a unified front supported by ALL Tea Party members. The results of these polls will telegraph to Washington and everyone campaigning for office, how the Tea Parties feel, not only about the national debt, but all other social issues confronting America. There will be several polls conducted between now and November 2nd. Input regarding polling questions is welcomed and encouraged. Please take a few moments to answer the 35 questions and ask all family members, friends and business associates to do the same. This is so important. Poll results will be published on the website every 1st, 10th, and 20th day of each month.

Sincerely,
Crystal
