1. Do not make your meetings boring by always scheduling speeches. People sign up to DO things, not to sit passively and listen to someone else's opinion. They are coming in looking for guidance from you to help them DO something.
When they sign up, give them a menu of options like (1) working to increase your chapter's membership, (2) learning the Constitution, (3) working on elections. Put out a monthly newsletter.
