But we are also free to choose to do nothing.  A choice all too many, for all too long have made.

Bonhoeffer said that “ ’cheap grace’ leads to damnation.” And I see a society, yes even a Christian society that has embraced cheap grace and from it have learned, have been deceived into believing that cheap citizenship is also their only duty… We as a deceived citizenry…merely show up, and in these days, we choose to blame “our government” while forgetting that it is we who are the government. Yet we remain free by the grace of God to choose our direction, our leadership every vote we make, every election that comes up. We are still free to seek and find qualified, capable, responsible, Christian leaders who love God and believe in the value of our forefathers, and the written laws of the land (US Constitution.) We are free to seek out and elect those who are committed to Christian principles and our forefathers’ beliefs in a government limited by Biblical values and our Constitution that was rooted in those very same values.

Our founding fathers knew that the burden of a constitutional republic was greater upon the citizens than any other form of government. But they hoped and had faith in us that was born out of their faith in God that as a people who embraced Christian values. They believed we would have the love of freedom and the prerequisite morals, values, and beliefs that could and would sustain us as a free people. We would be a people who had the strength and the individual responsibility and accountability to control a limited federal government.

Over the last 80 years our nation has gradually drifted away from those principles and away from God. It has not been God who drifted away from us. It has not been God that elected by leaders, and I don’t think that as of even these days, that it is God who is taking control…rather He is allowing us to exercise our free will even unto this very day. We may want to hide from that responsibility, and try to deny the obligations and duty of our circumstances now that we have made it much harder for ourselves…but blaming God for our misery is nothing new in the history of man…

I do believe His “judgment” is upon us in these days, and that He is warning us. I do believe God allowed Obama to become president at a time when he would have a Congress that would allow him great power to act against the good of the people of this nation, and especially against the good of all Christians. Notice I said, “allowed,” not selected or placed. He gave us free will to choose, and we as a people choose Obama.

I do think it may be His way of sending us yet one more warning before He withdraws His protection away from our nation and allow us to be subjugated by some other nation. However, I do not believe that God wants us to cower in a corner, nor to blame our earthly fiction of “government” for what is wrong when it is actually we who are out of compliance with Him.

I sure don’t think it is wise of us to blame Him for our problems either. For this is ALWAYS the easy way out that Satin offers to us…blame God for it. Blame someone else, or something else, for our problems that we create. To say, this is God’s will when things go wrong, but when we still have complete ability through our own actions to make things different is somehow a cop out to me…just like all apathy…be it in our Christian duty or citizenship duty.

God gives us choices…

In The Parable of the Bags of Gold (10 Talents) Jesus teaches us that “to those whom much is given, much is expected…but even for those to whom little is given, much is still expected.”

Although we “get it” about money, sometime we fail to realize that money was just an example of the overall lesson taught.

Now consider that in this nation, a nation given to us by God against unbelievable odds, a small nation that was only in its infancy…defeated the mightiest nation on earth at that time. God allowed this nation to be formed completely different than other nations…a nation “of the people, by the people, and for the people.”

God gave this land to us to rule as a Christian people, with a form of government that mandated that we are responsible every election to guide and correct the direction of our government as part of our citizenship duties…this is our role as citizens. This is “rendering unto Caesar those things which are Caesars.” I believe, this is also our responsibility according to Matthew 25: 14-30

We must not sell out on our values to go with the best of the worst...not yet at least.

We still have time to find and promote a better candidate...But it may be that they must be drafted, as opposed to voluneering.  I can sure understand that.  Who in their right mind would want to be President in the next election...the trials will be many, and the outcome uncertain.

But I have faith and belief in the American people...and in God.

And so it is written in (2 Chronicles 7:14)

We are taught that God will heal our land IF we do what we are supposed to do. Note that the scripture does not say he will heal our land no matter what...not “when,” but “if.”

2 Chronicles 7:14

If

My people, who are called by My name,

shall humble themselves

and pray,

and seek My face

and turn from their wicked ways,

then

will I hear from heaven,

and will forgive their sin

and will heal their land.
