Hindering the Children

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these” (Matthew 19:14, New International Version)At a recent breakfast for our men’s ministry, we were asked to break into small groups so we could meet someone we didn’t know. Since these “icebreakers” are often filled with awkward silence, our pastor gave us a list of questions we could pose to one another, accomplishing the dual purpose of learning more about each other and…See More

Mark my word, you will raise tax rates and you’ll feel good because you went out there and you got those rich people…You campaigned against rich people and you got enough envy whipped up in the country, and you’re going to stick it to those rich people. But guess what? You may not get any more revenue. You may not get any more economic growth. But you can say, “I stuck it to the rich people.” ~ Senator Rand Paul (R-KY)

I don’t like emotional appeals. I think…

The Restored American Dream, circa 2013

I recently read a couple of articles which, although they validated my skepticism about government assistance, also deeply troubled me.

The first was an op-ed piece in the New York Times by liberal columnist Nicholas Kristoff, who I will give credit for occasionally acknowledging truths that go against the conventional wisdom of the circles in which he…

As Black as God Made Me

The recent flap over whether or not Washington Redskins rookie quarterback and NFL phenom Robert Griffin III – RGIII – is “black enough” reminds me of the importance of being raised by good parents.

RGIII…

Ron, I'm way behind.  Thanks for befriending me.  I welcome friends from all over the country.  TN was my birth place and the south is where my heart is even though I was raised in AZ.  By the way, do you know about Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio's investigation into BHO's eligibility?  If not, check it out.  MSM is covering it up like a dog hiding his bone.  God Bless American Patriots.

Hey Ron,

I made this comment recently and then I wondered what you might think of my premise:

Herman Cain's experience with liberals is a great opportunity to highlight the difference between race and culture.  If the issue were really about the black race, then blacks would be excited about a black republican candidate.  This would be viewed as cause for celebration.  The fact that the black community supports liberal politics over black candidates is the tip-off that this situation is about black culture, specifically the bad stereotype of the black welfare recipient.  Herman Cain isn't against black people, he's against the entitlement culture.  He's not a race traitor.  He's a culture traitor, and thank God for it.  One thing we can do is resist letting the liberal media mis-label the issue.  Don't let them suck us into "race" discussions when we're really talking about economics or culture.  Don't let them slide when they make jaw-dropping stereotypes.  I would prefer it if Herman Cain could rise above the race-baiting fray and stay focused on the national issues.

What do you think?

Sometimes I wonder about certain statements that seem to be out of context with reality and I ofter think those comments come from ignorance of truth rather than what some may consider something else.

I wonder how many know the true history of this country (white and black).  I know that few understand that White and Black are tied ot the White House from the Years of Thomas Jefferson.  The heart aches and the pain of human being suffering is as old as time itselft and a tragedy in the history of our own United States, but the understanding of who we are as a people brings a light upon the importance of Freedom.

This is a classic case of where it needs to be back like it used to be when each party elected their party delegate and then actually had a party PLATFORM.  The main thing is that every candidate or current politician was not on TV and Internet 24-7 like they are now.  It stand to reason to me that with everyone on TV EVERYDAY that they will "misspeak" or have whatever they say twisted and use against them at every turn.  By literally being "out there" every hour of the day, they cannot possibly check and recheck every word they say for accuracy or to what extent it will be used against them.  Maybe they just need to stay home some days and mow the grass or make a cake, etc.

You have beaten me to at least three points I wanted to see made to MSNBC and the blogosphere.  Halperin was ambushed into his comment, which was arguably true anyway, but intemperately phrased.  As to why the guttersnipe Chrissy M. gets to use teab***er at every single reference to a third of the electorate he feels smugly superior to, that is the mark of MSNBC's unprofessional management.  I personally want to see Halperin find a position at Fox in place of that spent talking point dispenser Colmes, as I am sure a lot of internal dirt could be dished on how MSNBC miscomports itself daily.
