Sorry for not getting back to you before now. Hope all is well with you and family and that you all are safe with a roof over your heads. This re-election garbage and all of the three ring circus activities both before and since then, have really upset me to say the least. Why so many Republicans chose "Not" to vote for Romney for one reason or another letting Obama have a slam dunk victory is beyond me !
And now the Republican Party is scratching for crumbs and willing to violate everything they pledged "Not" to do and against our will at that. I wish I could say I felt optimistic about our future but right now I can't see the light through the Forest, at the end of the Tunnel or what ever other analogy you want to come up with./ If the individual states do not nullify all of the constant crap coming to us from Washington and cut off money that feeds these mandates, we will eventually have to take up arms and get the job done ourselves ! We are so close to being there that quite frankly not a day goes by that I don't think about it, nor would I be the least bit surprised when it does.
I am to close to being fully retired to have to worry about this crap and whether or not I will have to live in a cave versus a above ground comfortable home with the things I need to have some reasonable comfort for the many years I worked. Everything has gone to "Hell in a Hand Basket !" as the saying goes.
Then as if we didn't have enough problems, the middle east is on the edge of WWIII and it just depends on who blinks first ! I pray for all of us but especially the elderly and the children who will suffer the most when this happens, not if it will happen.
Prepare the best you can my friend for some dark times ahead and pray daily to be given the strength to make it through them and help others with life experiences. Take Care-Don

I've always wanted a flamethrower for Christmas, but a Barret 50cal. with depleted uranium rounds will do nicely.

Vets Gather to Support Republicans
By Jack Kemp (not the politician):
The Circle of Friends of Retired Vets (www.vetsvision.org) is a longstanding organization which held a gathering last week in Denver for the Democratic Convention. Tuesday night, it was the their turn to gather near the Republican Convention site. Their featured guest speaker was John Voight who sounded anything but like a movie star.
Jack Kemp said… Roland, I'm recycling a story from last year. I hope you like it. Here's the link and the opening sentences...

"Are you a World War II veteran?"
"No, I'm a Civil War veteran!"
The old sailor with the sense of humor actually was a veteran of the Korean War who had come downtown to Battery Park, at the southern tip of Manhattan to join the ceremonies on sunny Saturday, a day warmer than it had been all week.
