David Bloch said… Ever heard, "Once a Marine, always a Marine"? Well, for the most part, that's true. I elected to retire in Aug 1997 due to family circumstances. We had five kids, and the oldest 3 were in that teenage crunch time, or whatever. It was pretty stressful for us as my wife and I were in a battle to rescue our oldest son from a path of self-destruction-- one that we were both familiar with. At any rate, yes, I am a United States Marine, retired. It's not really by choice. The Marine ethos is so ingrained into your being that you just become part it. I never thought I would miss the Corps, because it's so demanding. I have pictures to prove it! hahaha
Work hard, play hard was our motto. =:)

David Vickery said… Thank you Publius. I scanned through some of the content before joining the group and just now re-read the new member rules, "Walk before run", and other topics. I can see there is much to absorb and think about and so I'll be frugal with comments until I'm confident I have something on-topic to share. Ahead of time, I can see you've invested quite a bit here, and I've much to gain if I'm able to invest time.

James Bauers said… Shalom, I have ready dove into that link! Awesome material! I'm ordering the Webster 1828 Dictionary! This is really going to be a much needed class! Even though I have it a number of times, I haven't really dug deep into what is all entailed. Thank you for what it is you are doing for this class!
James Bauers said… Shalom, Thank you for the greeting to the group! I'm very much looking forward to being part of this class. I've always been amazed at the lack of knowing our Constitution is so widespread is this nation. Over the last few weeks as it's becoming more and more evident of how our government has little to regard for our Constitution I've began reading it through at least once a week. I have copies spread throughout the house so I can pick it up and read. Thank you for your passion for it is really what is needed if we want to take back our nation!
