Whenever I open a Tea Party notice of a blog or forum, I hope that it is in the Blog format, and not the Forum format.
To me, it is important that I can REPLY directly to a certain posting, in order to be able to connect my answer and form a small thread at that point in the discussion. My reply then appears under the posting which I wish to comment on, instead of being placed next in line, in time order.
The Blog format allows for the REPLY buttons, whereas…

Jeff Dover said… John, if you can't think of what the "magic" is, you've consigned yourself to a failed party. Do you have a solution for it that has not already been tried?
Firstly, we're not Libertarians. Secondly, it's all about leadership and a leader will emerge. Let's get the party formed. In the meantime, we can all vote for whoever we want to vote for anyway. What's lost?

I'm embarrassed about that slip; thanks for the kindess of a correction. I'm so passionate on this subject that my ordinary knowledge takes second place in my presentation. I meant to say that historical ignorance is thick as fog on a rainy night. One can see it, smell it, and almost taste the ignorance; hence the palate came to mind. For sure, no pleasant sensation could be associated with stupidity in the dimensions abroad in the land.
I don't think Obama will need to go on food stamps after the election. There will always be a place for him in the black pulpit. Have you noticed his technique? I think the similarities are striking; he picked up a lot from Jeremiah Wright.
I'll quit now before I display my own ignorance again.
Jeff Dover said… Hi John,
This isn't about starting a third party now to challenge Romney! Even if I thought that was possible, for reasons you state, I wouldn't be involved.
This is about January 2013, come what may, and building a solid base of members, trying to bring over sitting members of congress and expanding upon that representation. It would be great to think that we'd have a very, very weak GOP in Nov. 2016 and a very, very strong Constitutional Conservative Party with its own presidential candidate by then. However, if we can even get our topics out in the open and seriously pushed in congress, we'll have made big strides. We can't do nothing and twenty years have shown us the GOP isn't our vehicle.

Jeff Dover said… You're right. We need more businessmen, fewer professional, careerist politicians.
Jeff Dover said… Hi John,
I noticed that Jeff Flake supported John McCain's denouncement of Michele Bachmann, Trent Franks and three others who presented facts about our Secretary of State's chief of staff, Huma Abedin. They pointed out the shift in US policy toward muslim nations and the possibility of links between Abedin and the Muslim Brotherhood. McCain, being McCain, slammed Bachmann and the others for doing so. So did Boehner.
There's McCain, again, attacking conservative Republicans in an election year and defending the worst Democrat regime we've ever seen. Flake supports McCain.
For that reason, I'm now supporting Will Cardon against Flake for US Senate. Formerly I supported Flake. I see that I was in error.
Jeff Dover said… What's up, John?
Marcia Wood said… John I tried that before when one of tea party members suggested it - Judson is in charge of all forums and we must confine our blogs to the blogging area. THanks for the suggestion
I'm glad I'm not alone on that, John. The only advantage I can see to that format is it keeps recent posts to the top but, often, makes you have to search back to see what the heck someone is replying to, LoL.
Just a side note to a comment here - if you read Madison's notes (in the original, not some ivory-tower idiots interpretation), from the 1787 Constitutional Convention (here) you will see that the 3/5ths rule was a compromise. The northern states wanted to do away with slavery completely. The southern states refused to ratify anything that did that. The 3/5ths rule was included because it was the only way to get the southern states to agree to the Constitution and was, at least, a step towards the eventual abolition of slavery.
