That, in fact, is what I am trying to get at: call themselves Repubs or Demos they are for state/Oligarch power vs the power residing in the people. Teapartiers who think their interests and outlooks are being supported by supporting the Republican party are being mislead by slogans. I agree with you. When I read the constitution it is obvious the founders intended the militia to be a military arm of the country. My solution to the criminal misuse of guns would be to prosecute all of them in Courts Martial. I would also have a muster list maintained so the militia could be called out in case of invasion or insurrection and I would have all armed members of the citizenry demonstrate that they were proficient. If they failed I would have them train until proficient.
