Are we seriously ready to fight? I am serious and I will ask this question again. Are we seriously ready to fight? I know there are a lot of words being brought forth, but are we really ready to stand on the front lines against what is bringing us down to the level of a second rate, third world nation?

Mike Ramirez said… Thank you for extending your friendship Barry. It is truly an honor to call you my friend and I look forward to the challenges that are set before us in this New Year. Knowing that there is still much work to do we also know that our victory is already won through our faith in Yeshua Ha Mashiach. Shalom my friend.
Barry, thank you for sharing your experiences in life with me. I'm sure it isn't so easy to dwell into the past. I am one who knows that well.
I'm sure it took courage to turn your life around and with the help of Hashem, you did a terrific job.
Your family tree seems fascinating. It's amazing that your brother was able to go back that far.
I started to do that, but haven't been able to go back more than 6 generations. My family roots have not appeared, for some reason, on Ancestry.com. I don't really know too many places to research this, other than going back to Hungary and find some more avenues, there.
But reading what you wrote, I am more and more convinced that you should read Stephen Dunbar's book, "Turbulant Souls"
In a short summary, he was raised by very observant Catholic parents. His mother was devout to a point that made him feel uneasy. He often felt uneasy in church. He always wondered why he never knew his grandparents on either side, nor have any other extended family. He had lots of siblings, I think it's 7. I read this book years ago, memory of it is fading.
Anyway, he finds out that he has lived in a lie all his life. Both his parents were born Jewish but converted before the war. Both of them were disowned. their parents sat Shiva for them that's why he didn't know he had a family. His mother was a close friend to the Archbishop of NYC.
The rest of the story is his revelation of his real life, meeting his grandparents and family and slowly assimilating into his roots. All through this his mother was totally against her son's actions.
It is a very revealing true story of his life. Today he is a very successful writer, journalist and he is a practicing Jew and feels very comfortable in his skin, as he said, because before he felt an alien living in his parents' house. There's a lot more, but you should read the rest.
I can tell you found peace through your quest, because you are a very kind and passionate "Mensch".
Glad we are friends. Someday, soon I'll tell you my life story, which wasn't very pleasant, either. Thank goodness, it's behind us.
Shalon Aleichem,
Agi
I am ready to fight, Barry. It's an honor to be your friend. Happy new Year!
