Ford GT 40, 1967 LeManns. Ford Racing is the only American automobile to ever race and win at Le Mann's, they became the first in 1966 placing 1,2,4, (3rd car finished 4th after a bad pit stop), in 1967 Ford placed 1,2,3,4. Four months later Le Mann's banned the Ford cars as too fast and too dangerous. However, they ended Ferrieri's 5 year winning streak. All 63 "Racing Cars" were hand built in the U.S.A. most have been sold or autioned off.
