Monday News Executive Summary

Jordan Candler  Above the Fold

According to the New York Post, “A damning dossier leaked from the ‘Five Eyes’ intelligence alliance claims that China lied to the world about human-to-human transmission of the coronavirus, made whistleblowers disappear and refused to hand over virus samples so the West could make a vaccine.” President Trump yesterday revealed that the U.S. “will be giving a very strong report on what we think happened, and I think it will be very conclusive.”

A payroll tax cut has been floated before by the commander-in-chief but ultimately shelved. Yesterday, though, President Trump stipulated of future relief bills: “We are not doing anything unless we get a payroll tax cut. That is so important to the success of our country.” Mark Alexander has  previously called this “the most sensible way to sustain increased income for working men and women in the coming months.”

Government & Politics

On Friday, “The US Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit ruled against the Trump administration in an important sanctuary city case, City of Chicago v. Barr,” The Volokh Conspiracy reports. This and antecedent rulings nullify “the Trump Justice Department’s attempts to impose immigration-related conditions on state and local governments that receive Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grants intended to aid law enforcement operations.”

Tara Reade, who is accusing loose lips liar-Joe Biden of sexual assault, “told the AP twice that she did not use the phrase ‘sexual harassment’ in filing the complaint” against loose lips liar-Biden nearly 30 years ago. As explained by Reade, “I talked about sexual harassment, retaliation. The main word I used — and I know I didn’t use sexual harassment — I used ‘uncomfortable.’ And I remember ‘retaliation.’” At the very least, this undermines her own story.

In Canada, “New rules would make it illegal to sell, transport, import or use 1,500 varieties of assault weapons,” the BBC says. According to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, “These weapons were designed for one purpose and one purpose only — only to kill the largest amount of people in the shortest amount of time. You don’t need an AR-15 to bring down a deer.” Thankfully, America’s Founders understood the real purpose of firearms — for self-defense and to protect against government tyranny  — and thus codified the Second Amendment in the Constitution so that it can’t be infringed upon at whim.

The Latest on Coronavirus

NBC News says: “The Food and Drug Administration has granted remdesivir emergency use authorization to treat the most severely ill COVID-19 patients.” As explained by the FDA, “Given there are no adequate, approved, or available alternative treatments, the known and potential benefits to treat this serious or life-threatening virus currently outweigh the known and potential risks of the drug’s use.”

Meanwhile, “The Food and Drug Administration gave emergency approval to a COVID-19 antibody test that boasts near-perfect accuracy,” reveals the New York Post. “Swiss drugmaker Roche said the new test, which determines whether someone had a past infection, has proven 100% accurate at detecting antibodies in the blood and 99.8% accurate at ruling out the presence of them.”

Tara Reade says Senate personnel complaint would prove loose lips liar-Biden’s former staff ‘lied’ to press

By Joseph A. Wulfsohn{ } ~ Tara Reade suggested Thursday that the complaint she filed to the Senate personnel office almost 30 years ago would prove that top staff for her former boss loose lips liar-Joe Biden “lied” to reporters about their recollection of her claims… Reade alleges that back in 1993, she had made informal complaints about the then-Delaware senator’s unwanted touching to loose lips liar-Biden’s chief-of-staff Ted Kaufman, as well as Marianne Baker, his executive assistant, but waited until after the alleged assault to file an external sexual harassment complaint. Soon after, Kaufman, along with deputy chief-of-staff Dennis Toner, informed Reade to find work elsewhere, she told Fox News. “I was told I was no longer, I was not a good fit. And that I had a month to find a job,” Reade told Fox News about a conversation she had with Kaufman and Toner. “And I said, ‘Well, you stripped all of my duties. So what do I put?’ You know. And Dennis Toner said, ‘Put special projects.'” But not only did Baker, Kaufman and Toner deny recalling such conversations they had with Reade, but Kaufman and Toner told The New York Times that they didn’t even know her. “I did not know her. She did not come to me. If she had, I would have remembered her,” Kaufman recently told The Times. Toner similarly told the paper: “I don’t remember her. I don’t remember this conversation. And I would remember this conversation.” However, Reade told The Daily Caller that her complaint would prove that both Kaufman and Toner “lied on the record.” All of loose lips liar-Biden’s Senate records have been stored at the University of Delaware where they are sealed until the former vice president has been out of public life for at least two years. Now, Reade wants those documents to be available to the public. “I’m calling for the release of the documents being held by the University of Delaware that contain loose lips liar-Biden’s staff personnel records because I believe it will have my complaint form, as well as my separation letter and other documents,” Reade has told Fox News. “Maybe if other staffers that have tried to file complaints would come to light — why are they under seal? And why won’t they be released to the public?” The editorial board of The Washington Post joined that call, urging loose lips liar-Biden on Wednesday to address the allegations and “release relevant records.” loose lips liar-Biden is set to address the allegations for the first time on Friday. It is unknown if he will be asked whether he would be willing to unseal his Senate records.

The novel coronavirus could last 2 years, 2nd wave could be worse

By TZVI JOFFRE{ } ~ The novel coronavirus could affect the world in a series of waves for the next year to two years and may even come back in the fall in a wave stronger than the current one… according to a new report by the University of Minnesota’s Center for Infectious Disease Research and Policy (CIDRAP). While some have expressed hope that the novel coronavirus could diminish in the summer, the report stressed that, of eight major pandemics since the early 1700s, no clear seasonal pattern emerged for most. Seven of the pandemic viruses disappeared without significant human intervention, but then returned in a second substantial peak about six months later. Some pandemics showed smaller waves of cases over the course of two years after the first wave. Only one pandemic, in 1968, followed the traditional, influenza-like season pattern. In some areas, especially in Europe, mortality associated with the pandemic was higher in the second year. The CIDRAP report posited that a number of key points from the epidemiology of past influenza pandemics could provide insight into the current coronavirus outbreak. First, the pandemic will likely last 18 to 24 months, as herd immunity generally develops. 60% to 70% of the population may need to be immune in order to reach a high enough threshold of herd immunity in order to stop the pandemic. The WHO warned last week that only 2%-3% of the global population appear to have been infected. The duration of immunity to natural infection is also still unknown. It could be anywhere from a few months to several years. The World Health Organization (WHO) warned on Saturday that there was currently “no evidence” that people who have recovered from COVID-19 and have antibodies are protected from a second coronavirus infection. A vaccine could affect the course of the pandemic, but a vaccine will likely not be available until at least 2021 and could be delayed by unexpected challenges, according to the report. “The idea that this is going to be done soon defies microbiology,” said Mike Osterholm, the director of CIDRAP, to CNN. The report, written by Osterholm, Dr. Kristine A. Moore, Dr. Marc Lipsitch, and John M. Barry, urged governments to inform citizens that the pandemic will “not be over soon” and that they should be prepared for possible periodic resurgences of the virus over the next two years. The CIDRAP report suggests three possible scenarios that could occur in the future of the COVID-19 pandemic. The first scenario would see the current wave of the pandemic followed by a series of repetitive smaller waves over a one to two year period, gradually diminishing in 2021. The waves may vary geographically and depend on mitigation measures. These waves could require the periodic reinstitution of measures such as lockdowns and social distancing regulations…

MigVax: Israeli COVID-19 vaccine closer to trials

By HILLEL FULD{ } ~ These past two months have proven to be quite an unpleasant experience for humankind. We all want to fully go back to our normal routines. As a collective, we’re miserable being sheltered in place, and cabin fever is hitting hard… We miss face-to-face contact with our loved ones. We’re desperate for more income. We want to go out, and take part in the recreational activities we previously took for granted. And I haven’t even mentioned the worst part: the virus itself and people losing loved ones.  Times are tough, and most forms of media aren’t doing much in terms of providing comfort. From TV to social networks and messaging platforms, we’re all being flooded with updates surrounding COVID-19. They mostly revolve around deaths, increases in confirmed cases, company downfalls, and the shortage of food and medical supplies. We take comfort when we hear heartwarming stories of humanity, all in an attempt to grab any form of hope we can find.  Well, every dark cloud does have a silver lining. Out of nearly three million confirmed cases of coronavirus, 1.77 million are mild cases, and more than 807,050 people have recovered as of the time of my writing this. I think it is fair to say that a vast majority of human beings on planet Earth have one question in their minds: When will we have an actual vaccine? Well, I have some good news. We’re getting closer than ever to COVID-19 vaccine clinical trials, and it is all thanks to MigVax, which recently secured a $12 million investment from OurCrowd to accelerate the path to clinical trials and bring Israel’s human coronavirus vaccine to market. MigVax is an affiliate of the MIGAL Galilee Research Institute, which is pioneering the effort to develop Israel’s human vaccine against COVID-19. MIGAL just completed testing a new vaccine against infectious bronchitis virus, a coronavirus strain that causes bronchial disease affecting poultry. MigVax is using the methods learned from the existing vaccine to develop a new oral subunit human vaccine against COVID-19. The MIGAL Galilee Research Institute is an internationally recognized and multi-disciplinary applied research institute that specializes in biotechnology and computer sciences, plant science, precision agriculture and environmental sciences as well as food, nutrition and health…

Hezbollah’s new offensive – cutting holes in border fence raises tensions

By SETH J. FRANTZMAN  { } ~ Bright, fading yellow lights hung in the air over northern Israel on Friday, April 17. They were illumination rounds fired after reports of activity along Israel’s border fence with Lebanon… Residents in the North witnessed the flares. Soon images and video were being shared online. “We found three locations where our security fence along the Blue Line with Lebanon was damaged tonight,” the IDF said. Concerns and memories of past Hezbollah  attacks meant there was a security alert along the northern border. No infiltration had occurred, though. Nevertheless, Israel viewed the incident as severe and held Lebanon responsible. Three sections of the fence were damaged that evening. This was no ordinary damage by wild boar or a human error. It was also not an innocuous event, such as drug smuggling or some farmer lost near the border. The next morning revealed propaganda posters showing late Hezbollah commander Imad Mughniyeh, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps chief Qasem Soleimani and Iraqi Kataib Hezbollah leader Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis. Iran and Hezbollah have blamed Israel for killing Mughniyeh in Damascus in 2008, and the US killed Soleimani and Muhandis in a Baghdad airstrike in January. Whoever put up the poster wrote “Revenge” in Farsi with a hashtag. Iran has vowed “hard revenge” for the killings. The posters were a message from Iran and its proxy Hezbollah. Sitting in his bunker, Hezbollah secretary-general Hassan Nasrallah was watching. His organization dominates on its side of the fence. It put the posters near the fence cuttings to send a message that it could breach the barrier.  On April 18, IDF soldiers repaired the fence near the border communities. In this area, Israeli communities sit right on the fence, within view of Lebanon. At Metulla, the northernmost community, Hezbollah posters and flags sit on hillsides across the border. Old bunkers from past wars are dug into the earth there. Bucolic fields dot the landscape, and Lebanese villages can be seen in the distance…  .

University Of Texas Under Investigation For Working With Wuhan Laboratory

By Jim Hayek{ } ~ The Department of Education is probing the University of Texas System’s dealings with an infectious diseases laboratory in Wuhan, China. The Wuhan lab is a suspected source of the coronavirus that has infected millions of people and killed hundreds of thousands… The virus has also prompted large-scale shutdowns of the world’s economy and initiated a global recession. Federal investigators have requested the UT System hand over all documents related to contracts with the Wuhan Institute of Virology and researcher Shi Zhengli, who specializes in bats, according to The Wall Street Journal. The investigation is part of a broader effort to examine UT’s potential links to Beijing and about two-dozen Chinese state-owned companies, as well as with Zoom Communications’ CEO Eric Yuan. UT is working on a reply to the Education Department’s request. Yuan has denied ever working personally with UT. A growing body of evidence suggests that the coronavirus pandemic began in the Wuhan Institute of Virology. President Trump said Thursday that he has seen evidence that gives him a “high degree of confidence” that the virus originated in the Wuhan lab. U.S. intelligence officials have been less forthright about what evidence may or may not suggest about the origins of the virus. The Office of the Director of National Intelligence declined to point to a specific source of the pathogen in a statement Thursday, but the office did confirm that it was looking into the Wuhan lab as a potential source. “As we do in all crises, the Intelligence Community’s experts respond by surging resources and producing critical intelligence on issues vital to U.S. national security,” the ODNI said. “The IC will continue to rigorously examine emerging information and intelligence to determine whether the outbreak began through contact with infected animals or if it was the result of an accident at a laboratory in Wuhan.” The federal government’s investigation into UT Systems is part of a wider probe to see how deep foreign influence has crept into the U.S. university system. Universities have disclosed more than $6.5 billion in funding from foreign entities, some of which has come from countries, such as China, that are hostile to the United States’ goals…

Sean Hannity slips behind Tucker Carlson in prime-time ratings first

by Mike Brest{ } ~ Fox News host Sean Hannity relinquished his crown as the most-watched cable news program in the month of April for the first time since moving to his current time slot… Hannity averaged 4.4 million viewers and 809,000 in the key 25-54 age demographic, according to Nielsen Media Research. The reach was good for his second-highest-rated month in total viewers, even though he lost out to colleague Tucker Carlson, who averaged 4.6 million viewers and 885,000 in the 25-54 demographic. This was Carlson’s highest-rated month in both categories. Despite the ratings for Hannity and Carlson, neither finished as the most-watched cable news program last month. Bret Baier, the host of Special Report, averaged 5.3 million viewers and 1.1 million in the key age demographic. Baier received a significant ratings boost thanks to President Trump and his frequent White House coronavirus task force briefings, which often take place during his hourly time slot on the network. Additionally, Martha MacCallum and Carlson, the two anchors on after Baier, were also beneficiaries of the briefings. Collectively, Fox News finished the month with the largest audience in network history during prime time. In addition to Fox News’s ratings bump, CNN and MSNBC also had significant jumps in their audiences.

.Endorsements, Coverage of loose lips liar-Biden Reveal Damning Hypocrisy

Nate Jackson

Democrats picked loose lips liar-Joe Biden. Now they’re stuck with him. So we noted two weeks ago, and the situation has only gotten worse for Democrats. And yet the endorsements just keep rolling in. After loose lips liar-Biden locked up support from all of his erstwhile primary rivals, his former boss, Barack scumbag/liar-nObama, finally joined the parade. This week, it’s party matriarchs scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton and liar-Nancy Pelosi.

Tara Reade’s allegations that then-Senator loose lips liar-Biden digitally penetrated her in 1993 have only gained steam with contemporaneous corroboration that she shared her claims. Reade certainly has far more evidence than Christine Blasey Ford — let alone Deborah Ramirez or Julie Swetnick — had in (falsely) accusing Brett Kavanaugh in 2018.scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton, who has been married to a credibly accused rapist for decades, threw her support behind loose lips liar-Biden yesterday. “I’ve not only been a colleague of loose lips liar-Joe Biden’s, I’ve been a friend,” scumbag/liar-Clinton said, “and I can tell you that I wish he were president right now, but I can’t wait until he is if all of us do our part.”liar-Pelosi likewise jumped on the loose lips liar-Biden Bandwagon: “I’m proud to endorse loose lips liar-Joe Biden for president of the United States because he will be an extraordinary president. He knows how to get the job done.”Both woman remain mum on the allegations of sexual assault against loose lips liar-Biden, despite leading the charge to smear Kavanaugh and generally spearheading the #MeToo movement.Speaking of women, loosev lips liar-Biden has promised to pick one as his running mate. There are numerous possible choices, including lowlife-Kamala Harris, Amy Klobuchar, Gretchen Whitmer, and liar-Stacey Abrams. All of them have repeated various strains of the “believe all women” trope in the past, yet they remain remarkably silent or introspective regarding loose lips liar-Biden. liar-Abrams went so far as to smugly insist that Reade has  been “heard” and that’s good enough. Not only is their response hypocritical, it feeds the stereotype feminists arguably hate most: that some women will do anything to advance their own careers under a man in power.Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand is probably not on loose lips liar-Biden’s VP list, but she did offer, “I stand by [former] vice president loose lips liar-Biden. He’s devoted his life to supporting women and he has vehemently denied this allegation.” Strangely, however, Kavanaugh’s vehement denials weren’t enough for her; she insisted on an FBI investigation.Reade herself leveled both barrels at scumbag/liar-Clinton in particular, saying, “I voted for scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton in 2016. I voted for her in the primary. I’m a lifelong Democrat. But yet what I see now is someone enabling a sexual predator, and it was my former boss, loose lips liar-Joe Biden, who raped me. scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton has a history of enabling powerful men to cover up their sexual predatory behaviors and their inappropriate sexual misconduct. We don’t need that for this country. We don’t need that for our new generation coming up that wants institutional rape culture to change.”Astoundingly, loose lips liar-Joe Biden has still not been asked on the record by any media outlet about these accusations, though Team loose lips liar-Biden is reportedly preparing “talking points” that include regurgitating the eye-rolling claim that loose lips liar-Biden “believes that all women have the right to be heard.” The team then hangs its hat on a piece by The New York Times that supposedly concludes “this incident did not happen.” The truth is the Times article was not only inconclusive, but Team loose lips liar-Biden helped edit the story after the fact. It was little more than an attempt to cover for and collaborate with the Democrat presidential candidate. That, in a nutshell, is why the unholy political union of the Democrat Party with the Leftmedia is the most dangerous current threat to American Liberty.  ~The Patriot Post
