“Breadlines” Erupt Across America As Lockdowns Crush America’s “Working Poor”

By Tyler Durden { } ~ The economy has crashed into a depression, 16.78 million Americans have applied for unemployment benefits, and consumer sentiment crashed the most on record… This American horror story has taken only three weeks to play out, the fastest and most severe economic crash in the country’s history, and still, we don’t know the true extent of the damage until the second half of the year. However, the one thing we do know is that food bank networks across the country have reported unprecedented demand as a hunger crisis unfolds. Here’s our reporting on the evolution of the virus pandemic, which has morphed into a financial crash, and now social crisis: Supplies Are Starting To Get Really Tight Nationwide As Food Distribution Systems Break Down Food Banks Overwhelmed As America’s “Working Poor” Starve During Lockdown. America’s New Breadlines Are Growing…And how do we know food bank networks are becoming “overwhelmed” across the country? Well, citizen journalists have launched their Chinese DJI drones overhead food banks to figure out why there are miles-long traffic jams of hangry people. And it appears that these lines are America’s new breadlines, similar to what was seen nine decades ago in the Great Depression. “Hundreds of cars” waiting in line at a food bank in Duquesne, Pennsylvania, on March 30.Here’s footage from April 2, documenting long lines of cars trying to get into the Feeding South Florida food bank, located in Broward County. On Thursday, the San Antonio Food Bank, located in San Antonio, Texas, aided about 10,000 households with food…

Congress: Don’t Hold Small Businesses Hostage to the Liberal Agenda

by ~ Heritage Action for America today released the following statement on behalf of executive director Jessica Anderson in response to congressional negotiations over coronavirus relief funding:.. Since the CARES Act passed, conservatives have made clear there should be no new “comprehensive” bill — instead, Congress should fix CARES and let it go into effect. Majority Leader McConnell and Senate Republicans are right to work quickly on President Trump’s request for $250 billion more for the Paycheck Protection Program, which is helping small businesses stay afloat and will help employees emerge from this crisis with paying jobs. Any increase to this program constitutes a fix to get the correct funding amount needed to address small business needs. Furthermore, there should also be a change to the program to ensure businesses most impacted are given the greatest assistance while not wasting valuable resources on businesses which have experienced little to no impact. Unfortunately, Speaker liar-Pelosi and Minority Leader scumbag-Schumer are threatening to hold small business owners hostage with their unacceptable spending demands, like another bailout of state and local governments to the tune of $150 billion. Despite the fact that the federal government is already spending trillions on relief efforts around the country, they don’t believe state and local governments should balance economic and health needs just like the Trump administration is. Instead of holding those businesses hostage to jam through their liberal policy priorities, liar-Pelosi and scumbag-Schumer should allow the Senate to immediately pass funding for the program, and the House should follow suit immediately.

Don’t Let Liberals Federalize Elections

by David Harsanyi { } ~ I’m sorry, but you have no constitutional “right” to vote by mail. You have no constitutional “right” to vote six days after an election is over. Nor do you have any “right” to censor information related to an election… Not even during a pandemic. This week, the Supreme Court ruled that a federal court was not empowered to overwrite Wisconsin’s election laws and force the state to accept ballots without any postmark deadline nearly a week after the election. Likewise, the Wisconsin Supreme Court ruled that Gov. Tony Evers did not have the authority to arbitrarily suspend in-person voting. If these dictates had been allowed to stand, they would have created insanely destructive precedents, taking elections out of the hands of local legislatures. If we discard legal norms every time there’s a crisis, we no longer have a nation of laws but a country at the mercy of arbitrary decrees, emotional appeals, and pliable courts. Not that any of this concerned the usual suspects, who began lamenting the alleged anti-democratic nature of Chief Justice John Roberts’ court. When will the conservative wing abandon their partisanship and begin “compromising,” wondered a news piece in The Washington Post.Liberal pundits, apparently unable to differentiate between partisan policy preferences and the rule of law, launched into their customary hysterics, denouncing the Supreme Court for disenfranchised minorities and putting people’s lives at risk. But the court doesn’t exist to fix your local government’s incompetence or make life safer. It exists to uphold the Constitution. None of this is to say that the situation in Wisconsin is fair to voters, who had to risk standing in lines during a dangerous pandemic. Many states have contingencies in place for emergencies. Wisconsin—while it had plenty of time to pass new guidelines—does not. That’s a Wisconsin problem, not a Supreme Court problem, not a “democracy” problem, and definitely not a federal problem. If Wisconsinites don’t like their laws, if they’re disappointed in legislators, if they’re furious at the state’s high court and bothered by the governor’s ineptitude, then there will be plenty of future elections to right those wrongs. In no version of a healthy “democracy,” however, do we override existing laws, passed by previous elected officials, through fiat…

Sen Fein-stein wants to send millions in tax $$$ to the Ayatollah

By M. Dowling { } ~ As the West struggles under the burden of the coronavirus and increasing debt, Senator Dianne Fein-stein wants to send millions to Iran to help them deal with the virus… Iran was hit hard by the virus, but they are allies of China, North Korea, and Russia, as well as some other bad players. China caused the problem, so why don’t they help them? Also, what are the chances the Mullahs will use this money for anything but terrorism? Senator Ted Cruz slammed her. “The Ayatollah leads chants of “death to America.” He pledges to destroy America, which he calls “the Great Satan.” And Senate Dems want to send him millions??? At the EXACT SAME TIME, Senate Dems are blocking desperately need relief to small businesses in America,” he tweeted.

China Is in a ‘Full-Court Blitzkrieg’ Against US, but the DOJ Has Something in Store for It

By Randy DeSoto { } ~ Attorney General William Barr described the communist Chinese government as engaged in a “full-court blitzkrieg” against the United States… but said the Department of Justice is actively working to counter the threat with its “China Initiative.” In an interview that aired Wednesday night, Fox News host Laura Ingraham asked Barr if the DOJ planned to take any action against China given the country’s record of nefarious conduct, including, most recently, failing to release essential data to the United States regarding the COVID-19 outbreak. “What about the Justice Department getting involved more, I guess, obviously to the American people in this battle against the ongoing propaganda machine of China in the United States at our universities, in businesses — hey, in the White House Press Room the other day?” Ingraham asked. “Yes,” Barr answered. “The department is heavily engaged in that. In fact, that’s one of our highest priorities in the counterintelligence realm, counterespionage realm and protection of trade secrets as our activity’s directed to defend against the Chinese. “The Chinese are engaged in a full-court blitzkrieg of stealing American technology, trying to influence our political system, trying to steal secrets at our research universities and so forth. And we are focused on it. We have something we call the China Initiative.” In November 2018, the DOJ announced the initiative, which is designed to counter Beijing’s espionage activities, trade law violations and misinformation campaigns directed against the American people. Barr said the DOJ had already brought several indictments against Chinese perpetrators. Ingraham then asked the AG whether he sees China or Russia as a graver threat to the United States’ election security. “In my opinion, it’s China,” Barr responded. “And not just to the election process, but I think across the board, there’s simply no comparison. China is a very serious threat to the United States geopolitically, economically, militarily, and a threat to the integrity of our institutions given their ability to influence things.” The nation’s top law enforcement official argued that one positive consequence of the COVID-19 outbreak has been to highlight “the importance of borders and controlling who is coming into the country.” “I felt for a long time, as much as people talk about global warming, that the real threat to human beings are microbes and being able to control disease,” Barr said. “And that starts with controlling your border.”…

Declassifed footnotes show scumbag-Comey’s FBI always knew the dossier was Russian disinformation

By M. Dowling { } ~  CBS News reporter Catherine Herridge posted on Twitter an April 2nd letter from the DOJ that was in response to Senators Ron Johnson and Chuck Grassley calling… for the DOJ to declassify four key footnotes in Inspector General Horowitz’s report. Chairman of the Senate Homeland Security Committee Ron Johnson and Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee Chuck Grassley Tuesday sent a letter to Attorney General Bill Barr asking him to declassify the footnotes in IG Horowitz’s report on FISA abuse. The Senators stated that the classified footnotes contradict what is publicly available in Horowitz’s report related to Crossfire Hurricane, the baseless intelligence probe into Trump’s campaign in July of 2016. Grassley and Johnson wrote, “The American people have a right to know what is contained within these four footnotes and, without that knowledge, they will not have a full picture as to what happened during the Crossfire Hurricane investigation.” The DOJ declassified three footnotes with minimal redactions and kept the fourth footnote completely blacked out citing, “unique and significant concerns.” The redacted information refers to information received by a member of the Crossfire Hurricane team regarding possible previous attempts by a foreign government to penetrate and research a company or individuals associated with Christopher Steele,” Herridge reported. One declassified footnote revealed scumbag-Comey’s FBI knew the scumbag/liar-Hillary Clinton-funded Steele dossier was Russian disinformation — but they used it anyway to spy on Trump’s campaign.“The redacted stated that it did not have high confidence in this subset of Steele’s reporting and ASSESSED that the referenced subset was part of a Russian disinformation campaign to denigrate US foreign relations” — Catherine Herridge wrote on Twitter…  https://www.  /declassifed-footnotes-show-comeys-fbi-always-knew-the-dossier-was-russian-disinformation/

When Will the U.S. Reopen for Business?

Nate Jackson

The burning question on the minds of millions of Americans — particularly for the now 16 million who have filed jobless claims in the last three weeks — is “when will the U.S. reopen for business?” The China Virus pandemic has killed nearly 15,000 Americans to date, but we still need an economic exit strategy that will simultaneously prevent a later resurgence of the virus and keep our $22 trillion economy afloat.

Late in March, President Donald Trump famously expressed a desire to be “opened up and just raring to go by Easter.” Though he was mercilessly hammered by the Leftmedia for being so “naive,” Trump was merely voicing the hope of most Americans. His aspiration obviously did not become reality. In fact, many states have stay-at-home orders extending well beyond Easter (Virginia’s goes until June 10), meaning any kind of return to normalcy is still weeks away. But there are also signs Trump wasn’t all that far off. “Some of these models are looking like Easter is going to be a very important date anyway because of the curve,” he said yesterday. “It’s hitting the top and it’s starting to come down.”In any case, opening up the economy must take place in stages. “It isn’t like a light switch on and off,” said Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease. “It’s a gradual pulling back on certain of the restrictions and to try and get society a bit back to normal.” He argued that we must first determine that we’re “going in the right direction” with the number of infections. National Economic Council Director Larry Kudlow says he hopes for “four to eight weeks.”Trump has floated a second coronavirus task force to focus on restarting the nation’s economy. What the administration must do is lay out a tentative plan, even acknowledging that the plan will be modified as dictated by events and that states and local communities will have a far greater say in enacting any plan than the president will. That’s the beauty of our federalist system.Along those lines, economists Lewis Uhler and Peter Ferrara offer this plan: “Trump should work with governors from states that want to work. Start with West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Indiana. Voters in Virginia, Maryland and Illinois will wonder why they can’t work. Trump can work with willing governors, even county by county, informed by increased testing, freeing those testing free of illness to return to work. The economy can then be reopened southward and westward, to the extent state and local officials, under renewed political pressures, agree to participate.”Indeed, any plan to send people back to work would need to involve extensive testing, which Dr. Fauci says is “in the hands of the private sector.” And returning to work would probably have to begin with young and healthy people, leaving older Americans and those with underlying health conditions to remain home for longer. Reopening would also have to begin company by company and community by community, rather than state by state.Investment-banking giant Morgan Stanley put together a well-researched plan on reopening over the next 70 days or so. It lays out several important benchmarks for a return to normalcy: “Peak in new cases and deaths, fully staffed and equipped hospitals, and widely available high-capacity testing and surveillance.”“Once those milestones are met,” Morgan Stanley’s report continues, the next round of objectives kicks in: “Determine who is immune, allow those who are low-risk to return to work, allow children back to school, increase surveillance for and containment of new cases, accelerate development and distribution of therapeutic treatments, and prioritize vaccine research and development.”That is all very similar to the step-by-step approach Austria is taking in becoming the first European country to work toward what Chancellor Sebastian Kurz referred to as an Easter “resurrection.” Funny, but the Leftmedia didn’t seem to mind that allusion when it wasn’t Trump making it.Update 4/9, for additional context:At Wednesday’s press briefing, a reporter asked: “Last week, your top experts were saying that we should expect 100,000 to 240,000 deaths in this country. You’ve been talking about how it looks like maybe things are plateauing. Are these numbers now being revised downward? I know you don’t want people to stop social distancing and that sort of thing, but what can you tell us about the numbers? Are they being revised down?”Dr. Deborah Birx responded: “We believe that our healthcare delivery system in the United States is quite extraordinary. I know many of you are watching the Act Now model and the IHME model from — and they have consistently decreased the number, the mortality from over almost 90,000 or 86,000, down to 81,000 and now down to 61,000. That is modeled on what America is doing. That’s what’s happening.”For the record, according to the CDC, that is about the mortality rate of the 2017-18 flu season. And notably, data from New York City health department indicates that the majority (65.6%) of those who have died there, had (serious underlying health conditions]( Moreover, a third of the deaths (32.6%) are listed as “underlying conditions pending” with only 1.9% being listed as “no underlying conditions.”  ~The Patriot Post
